Expansion of EPCIS and EPCDS for Efficient Distributed Logistics Information Management (효율적인 분산 물류정보 관리를 위한 EPCIS와 EPCDS의 확장)

  • EPCglobal Network is based on the Electronic Product Code(EPC) and rapidly opening up to many enterprises that have close relationships with each other. Since a huge amount of logistics Information is distributed in the EPCglobal Network, it needs to manage them effectively. Global logistics companies and institutes are studying and setting up the standards about EPC Information Service(EPCIS), Object Name Service (ONS) and EPC Discovery Service(EPCDS) in the RFID and EPC-based logistics information network. In this paper, we propose expanded EPCIS and EPCDS that are satisfy EPCglobal standards and enable more effective logistics information management.

The Top-K QoS-aware Paths Discovery for Source Routing in SDN

  • Source routing is the routing scheme that arranges the whole path from source to target at the origin node that may suit the requirements from the upper layer applications' perspective. The centralized control in SDN (Software-Defined Networking) networks enables the awareness of the global topology at the controller. Therefore, augmented source routing schemes can be designed to achieve various purposes. This paper proposes a source routing scheme that conducts the top-K QoS-aware paths discovery in SDN. First, the novel non-invasive QoS over LLDP scheme is designed to collect QoS information based on LLDP in a piggyback fashion. Then, variations of the KSP (K Shortest Paths) algorithm are derived to find the unconstrained/constrained top-K ranked paths with regard to individual/overall path costs, reflecting the Quality of Service. The experiment results show that the proposed scheme can efficiently collect the QoS information and find the top-K paths. Also, the performance of our scheme is applicable in QoS-sensitive application scenarios compared with previous works.

  • Today, IT governance has also become a subject of attention along with recent technologies such as ITSM (IT Service Management), PPM (Project Portfolio Management) and Compliance. At the national level, the market is fairly recent. and therefore, lacks detailed research in the field. Models specifically related to EIM has not yet been presented to this day, hence, firms that are considering EIM as a potential part of their information management system may fall into a state of disorder in the process of its implementation. To this end, this research attempts to construct an IT governance model for EIM based on existing models, surveys and interviews. In particular, E-discovery has been applied as means of protecting information assets and its use as evidence. In addition, by applying the research model to a particular global firm and then assessing its documentation management system, the overall feasibility of the research model has been tested.

  • Human lifestyle is affected by the agricultural development in the last 12,000 years ago. The development of agriculture is one of the reasons that global population surged. To ensure sufficient food production for supporting human life, pesticides as a more effective and economical tools, are extensively used to enhance the yield quality and boost crop production. This study investigated the factors that affect crop production and whether the factors of pesticide usage are the most important factors in crop production using the dataset from Kaggle that provides information based on crops harvested by various farmers. Logistic regression is used to investigate the relationship between various factors and crop production. However, the logistic regression is unable to deal with predictors that are related to each other and identifying the greatest impact factor. Therefore, causal discovery is applied to address the above limitations. The result of causal discovery showed that crop condition is greatly impacted by the estimated insects count, where estimated insects count is affected by the factors of pesticide usage. This study enhances our understanding of the influence of pesticide usage on crop production and contributes to the progress of agricultural practices.

  • Decentralized 정보는 여러 도메인에 대한 heterogeneous한 독립적인 정보가 자율적으로 존재하며 이들 정보간의 관계성의 고려한 전체에 대한 global view가 존재하지 않기 때문에 inter-domain에 대한 마이닝을 수행하는데 어려움이 있다. 본 연구에서는 intra-domain knowledge discovery, intra 및 inter-domain problem solving method라는 접근방법으로, decentralized 데이터 환경에서 문제 해결에 필요한 정보 추출을 위한 데이터 tailoring과 분산 데이터에 대한 목표-지향 데이터마이닝(goal-oriented data-mining)을 통해 문제 해결을 위해 필요한 지식을 생성하고 이들 간의 관련 정보를 탐색하여 문제를 해결하는 프레임워크를 제안한다. 특히, 생성된 지식간의 협동 문제 처리를 멀티 에이전트 패러다임을 이용하기로 한다. 제안 프레임워크는 산재되어 있는 데이터들로부터 문제 해결에 유용한 지식 차원의 정보를 추출해내고 생성된 지식을 바탕으로 각 도메인 정보에 대한 개별적인 사용뿐 만 아니라 서로 cooperation을 통한 문제 해결을 지원함으로써, 개방된 분산 환경하에 decentralized 되어 있는 여러 도메인 정보를 보다 효율적으로 활용할 수 있는 새로운 형태의 문제 해결 방법이라고 할 수 있다.

  • Recently, mining far association rules in distributed database environments is a central problem in knowledge discovery area. While the data are located in different share-nothing machines, and each data site grows by time. Mining global frequent itemsets is hard and not efficient in large number of distributed sewen. In many distributed databases. time component(which is usually attached to transactions in database), contains meaningful time-related rules. In this paper, we design a new DTA(distributed temporal association) algorithm that combines temporal concepts inside distributed association rules. The algorithm confirms the time interval for applying association rules in distributed databases. The experiment results show that DTA can generate interesting correlation frequent itemsets related with time periods.

Distributed Hashing-based Fast Discovery Scheme for a Publish/Subscribe System with Densely Distributed Participants (참가자가 밀집된 환경에서의 게재/구독을 위한 분산 해쉬 기반의 고속 서비스 탐색 기법)

  • Pub/sub system enables data users to access any necessary data without knowledge of the data producer and synchronization with the data producer. It is widely used as the middleware technology for the data-centric services. DDS (Data Distribution Service) is a standard middleware supported by the OMG (Object Management Group), one of global standardization organizations. It is considered quite useful as a standard middleware for US military services. However, it is well-known that it takes considerably long time in searching the Participants and Endpoints in the system, especially when the system is booting up. In this paper, we propose a discovery scheme to reduce the latency when the participants and Endpoints are densely distributed in a small area. We propose to modify the standard DDS discovery process in three folds. First, we integrate the Endpoint discovery process with the Participant discovery process. Second, we reduce the number of connections per participant during the discovery process by adopting the concept of successors in Distributed Hashing scheme. Third, instead of UDP, the participants are connected through TCP to exploit the reliable delivery feature of TCP. We evaluated the performance of our scheme by comparing with the standard DDS discovery process. The evaluation results show that our scheme achieves quite lower discovery latency in case that the Participants and the Endpoints are densely distributed in a local network.

A Study on the Implementation of a Web-browser-based Global e-Navigation Service Discovery System for Decentralized Maritime Service Registries (탈중앙화 MSR 환경에서의 웹 브라우저 기반 글로벌 이내비게이션 서비스 검색 시스템 구현에 대한 연구)

  • The flow of global digitalization is leading to the emergence of a decentralized system environment based on blockchain or distributed ledger technology in the fields of economy, identity authentication, and logistics. Accordingly, a requirement that public services be searchable from several decentralized maritime service registries (MSRs) has been derived in terms of the discoverability of e-navigation services. This study describes a decentralized MSR environment composed of the MSR ledger and multiple local MSRs, and it has implemented a service search system that can search global e-navigation services in the environment through a web browser. This system is a decentralized application that dynamically generates service attributes, geometry information, and free text queries, and that provides users with relevant MSR and service access information from search results that are registered in the MSR ledger. In this study, we tested the established decentralized MSR environment and the system that performs service search within that environment, and we discussed its advantages and limitations.

  • The power of modern technology is opening a new era of big data. The size of the datasets affords us the opportunity to answer many open scientific questions but also presents some interesting challenges. High-dimensional data such as microarray are common in big data. In this paper, we give an overview of recent development of multiple testing including global and simultaneous testing and its applications to high-dimensional data.
