Heliostat sun tracking accuracy could be the most important requirement in solar thermal power plant, since it determines the overall efficiency of power plant. This study presents the effect of geometrical errors on the heliostat sun tracking performance. The geometrical errors considered here are the mirror canting error, encoder reference error, heliostat position error. pivot offset and tilt error, gear backlash and mass unbalanced effect error. We first investigate the effect of each individual geometrical error on the sun tracking accuracy. Then, the sun tracking error caused by the combination of individual geometrical error is computed and analyzed. The results obtained using the solar ray tracing technique shows that the sun tracking error due to the geometrical error is varying almost randomly. It also shows that the mirror canting error is the most significant error source, while the encoder reference error and gear backlash are second and the third dominant source of errors.

Because of the development in mold industries, the geometrical form accuracy of the milled surface is getting more and more important. It has been known that the geometrical form accuracy is affected by machine conditions, cutting conditions, tool conditions and tool path and so on. Among them, the tool approaching path causes the change in material removal per tooth at the end of each machining cycle. And, this change generates the geometrical form error around the region where the tool engages the workpiece initially. So, it is impossible to eliminate the geometrical error caused by the tool approaching path. Thus, characteristics of this geometrical error are studied analytically and experimentally to minimize this region.
In this numerical approach, strut-placed supersonic annular flow is examined. The geometrical variations of strut cause strong influence on flowfield structures. The geometrical variations are as follows, swept effect, attack angle effect, variation of leading edge shape. These changed features such as velocity structure, pressure structure, shock-boundary layer interaction are compared and analyzed according to each geometrical configuration.
Nowadays, geometrical form expressed on costume is recognizing as a part of modeling art, at the same time is working to develop it. Also the geometrical form is affording the coinciding lifestyle and sensitivity of customers keeping their pace. As a result, our study is researching on the geometrical form that is used in the pattern, silhouette, and detail of the costume to show the texture in sense of touch and the effect of optical illusion used in variable designs, in order to present the expansion our capability of infinite development included in the study of costume. Specially, geometrical form included in sports wear is very effective since the geometrical form includes short and simple beauty as well as practical design. Thus, this study is wishing to know if satisfying the practical and psychological urge of present human beings may be applied to the golf wear market, which is a type of sport that geometrical form is sent in the fastest way in domestic market. Also we are urged to know what type of design technique is the geometrical form nowadays used and changed to discriminate the artificial commerce and improve the identity of such unique brand. The source of this thesis is wishing to investigate the specialization and the most effective geometrical shape and preference of each type in domestic golf wear goods that applied geometrical goods in $2002{\sim}2006$ and analyze its way of expression.
In mathematical problem solving, students may make various errors. In order to draw useful lessons from the errors, and then correct them, we surveyed 24 eighth-grade students' performances in geometrical problem solving according to Casey's hierarchy of errors. It was found that: 1. Students' effect can lead to errors at the stage of "comprehension", "strategy selection", and "skills manipulation"; and 2. Students' geometric schemas also influenced their strategy selection".
In our previous works, two different spherical burnable poison particles (BPPs) as B4C and Gd2O3 in pin-in block type HTGR core had utilized to suppress the excess reactivity and to control long-term reactivity during the burnup period. In the present work, we performed the neutronic analysis of a prismatic HTGR operating at 850 ℃ with thermal power of 100 MW containing spherical and cylindrical BPPs and then studied the self-shielding effect of BPPs and shape effect. The calculations were performed when the surface area (1) or volume (2) of cylindrical BPPs equals to that of the spherical BPPs. The calculations showed that the neutronic parameters were slightly better for the second case than the first one, such as the excess reactivity of the reactor core at the beginning of the cycle were more suppressed, the core lifetime were more extended, and the fuel-burning were more efficiently. The neutron spectrum in each region of the cylindrical BBPs slightly differs than that of the spherical BPPs. Therefore, the self-shielding effect of BPPs on reactor core performance depends on the particle's geometrical shape.
Initial geometrical imperfection is an important factor affecting the structural characteristics of plate and shell structures. Studying the effect of geometrical imperfection on the structural characteristics of cylindrical shell is beneficial to explore the thermal post-buckling response characteristics of cylindrical shell. Therefore, we devote to investigating the thermal post-buckling behavior of graphene platelets reinforced mental foam (GPLRMF) cylindrical shells with geometrical imperfection. The properties of GPLRMF material with considering three types of graphene platelets (GPLs) distribution patterns are introduced firstly. Subsequently, based on Donnell nonlinear shell theory, the governing equations of cylindrical shell are derived according to Eulerian-Lagrange equations. Taking into account two different boundary conditions namely simply supported (S-S) and clamped supported (C-S), the Galerkin principle is used to solve the governing equations. Finally, the impact of initial geometrical imperfections, the GPLs distribution types, the porosity distribution types, the porosity coefficient as well as the GPLs mass fraction on the thermal post-buckling response of the cylindrical shells are analyzed.

In ceramic systems, many components including embedded passives and TRL(transmission line) are used for composition of 3-dimensional circuit. So the exact analysis on this components, As for the TRL's, material properties including electrical conductivity of metal, loss factor and effective dielectric constant of dielectric material and geometrical factors like roughness of surface, vias, dimension of stripline structure have a large effect on the charactersistics of transmission lines. In this research, of effect of material and geometrical factors on the characteristics of stripline structure is analyzed and quantified by simulation and measurement.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of geometrical structure on the moisture transport properties of nonwoven batting materials. Two types of nonwovens were used such as single and double layered nonwovens. Steady and dynamic state water vapor transport properties were measured by absorption, evaporation and cobaltous chloride method respectively. The results of this study were as follows: 1) Geometrical structure affected water vapor evaporation, but there were no differences between single and double layered nonwovens in moisture absorption. Thickness and air permeability were influencing factor on water vapor transport rate. 2) Directionality of double layered nonwoven was observed both in steady and dynamic state moisture transport. There were differences between upper and lower layer of double layered nonwoven both in moisture absorption rate and color change by cobaltous chloride method. 3) In dynamic state of water vapor transport rate, single layered nonwoven reached more rapidly at the established relative humidity. It was confirmed that geometrical structure affected water vapor evaporation and hydrophilicity of fiber affected moisture absorption because there were much more water vapor transport rate by evaporation than absorption within the same period of time.

In this study, geometrical similarity conditions for drills of various diameters are discussed. The effect of geometrical similarity on the chip shape and forces of different sized conventional drills has been experimentally confirmed. Drilling tests are carried out for SM45C by using the conventional HSS drills. The torque and thrust forces are measured and compared with those chip forms. Chip shape in drilling are affected by three factors being flow angle, side and up curl of the chip. It is found that the feedrate and drill diameter are more affected than cutting speed on the chip form and cutting forces. The similarity conditions gives easily to estimate the chip shape, the thrust and the torque for drills of different diameters.
