  • In order to make the effect of the navigation system more direct, the paper proposes a thought of vehicle navigation system based on Video-GIS. A semantic framework has been defined whose core is focused on the integration and interaction of video and spatial information, which supports full content retrieval based on multimodal metadata extraction and fusion, and supports kinds of wireless access mode. Furthermore, requirements of prototype system are discussed. Then the design and implementation of framework are discussed. Next, describe the key ideas and technologies involved. Finally, we point out its future research trend.

  • The purpose of the current research is to evaluate the possibility of landslides by using geo-spatial information system. Geological information has been summarized and stability analysis for infinite slopes has been conducted based on the force equilibrium. In addition, the analysis of landslides was performed based on probabilistic approach by using probabilistic variables which can include uncertainty of input parameters. For the purpose of testifing the applicability of the analysis method actual geological data from a construction site was obtained, thereby performing both a preliminary analysis for a large area and detailed analysis for a better result. As a result of the current analysis several issues such as the possibility of development of landslides, detailed analysis of where landslides are most likely to be developed were analysed by using two concepts of safety and index of failure probability.

  • As diverse web-based geos-spatial services are developed, the values of technologies and standards related to this trend are also emphasized. In this study, a prototype supporting mandatory components in OGC standard catalog service is designed and implemented, linked to PostgreSQL, open source DBMS. As the main features, XML metadata server was built with the helps of XML query functions in PostgreSQL. Given target applications with geo-spatial data sources and contents, this model can be applied, and it can be used for extension in other external web-based service systems or applications, because it supports international standard specifications.

  • Background: Cholangiocarcinoma (CCA) is a serious health problem in Thailand, particularly in northeastern and northern regions, but epidemiological studies are scarce and the spatial distribution of CCA remains to be determined. A database for the population at risk is required for monitoring, surveillance and organization of home health care. This study aim was to geo-visually display the distribution of CCA in northeast Thailand, using a geographic information system and Google Earth. Materials and Methods: A cross-sectional survey was carried out in 9 sub-districts and 133 villages in Chum Phuang district, Nakhon Ratchasima province during June and October 2015. Data on demography, and the population at risk for CCA were combined with the points of villages, sub-district boundaries, district boundaries, and points of hospitals in districts, then fed into a geographical information system. After the conversion, all of the data were imported into Google Earth for geo-visualization. Results: A total of 11,960 from 83,096 population were included in this study. Females and male were 52.5%, and 47.8%, the age group 41-50 years old 33.3%. Individual risk for CCA was identifed and classified by using the Korat CCA verbal screening test as low (92.8%), followed by high risk (6.74%), and no (0.49%), respectively. Gender ($X^2$-test=1143.63, p-value= 0.001), age group ($X^2$-test==211.36, p-value=0.0001), and sub-district ($X^2$-test=1471.858, p-value=0.0001) were significantly associated with CCA risk. Spatial distribution of the population at risk for CCA in Chum Phuang district was viewed with Google Earth. Geo-visual display followed Layer 1: District, Layer 2: Sub-district, Layer 3: Number of low risk in village, Layer 4: Number of high risk in village, and Layer 5: Hospital in Chum Phuang District and their related catchment areas. Conclusions: We present the first risk geo-visual display of CCA in this rural community, which is important for spatial targeting of control efforts. Risk appears to be strongly associated with gender, age group, and sub-district. Therefor, spatial distribution is suitable for the use in the further monitoring, surveillance, and home health care for CCA.

  • This study associates with socio-economic status in a slice section area of Chicago metropolitan to get spatial patterns of urban windows. GSIS(Geo-spatial Information System) has been monitored with several statistic methods, and geo-spatial map presentations. From the grouping analysis, the result displays that most suburban town have high income values, such as Elmhurst, Melrose Park, North Lake(Income ranges between $25,000${\sim}$30,000 : 1980 Sensus data). The factors produced form both analyses of SAS and BMDP are socio-ethnic, economic, hispanic, black, life expectancy, and multiple car ownership. In the study area the socio-ethnic factor is striking, and is composed of nine out of the fourteen varialbles. Geo-spatial 3-D mapping represents a socio-economic configuration of the study area. The high income value areas are Elmhurst and North Lack, and a spot between Belmont Ave. and the Lake Shore. Economic configuration is a vital importance of socio-economic activities in the urban areas. In the study area a minimum average income level is about $4,364 and maximun is $30,311.

  • LBS services is a user-centric location based information service, where its importance has been discussed as an essential engine in an Ubiquitous Age. We aimed to develop an ontology reasoning system that enables users to derive recommended results suitable through selection standard reasoning according to various users' preferences. In order to achieve this goal, we designed the Geo-ontology system which enabled the construction of personal characteristics of users, knowledge on personal preference and knowledge on spatial and geographical preference. We also integrated a function of reasoning relevant information through the construction of Cost Value ontology using multi-criteria decision making by giving weight according to users' preference.

  • There are currently tremendous amount of geotechnical information saved, which has been qcquired for essential application of site selection, plan, design, constructin, repari in the builing work. However, due to the lack of the location data attribute, there has been a trouble in its analysis and GIS implementation. In this study, the geotechnical information aquisition program(PGeo) for real-time database in the field and geotechnical information reporting program(GeoReport) by Web-GIS for additional data input and its reporting function has been developed.

  • This study is the part of development of information management system for irrigation facilities. It describes the design and prototype presentation of WISIF(Web-based geographic Information System for Irrigation Facilities). WISIF manages the IFDB(Irrigation Facilities DataBase) and offers geographic information of irrigation facilities from IFSDB(Irrigation Facilities Spatial DataBase) through World Wide Web. GeoMedia Web Map software of Intergraph is used to offer geographic information to users. GeoMedia Web Map generates vector format, so called ActivCGM. The file generated in ActiveCGM format can be downloaded fast since its size is so small and generated as an interactive map file since its format supports hyperlink.

  • A rural water quality management information system(RWQMIS) by integrating Geo¬graphic Information System(GIS) with the existing models (pollutants transport and river water quality) is described. A simple pollutant load model to calculate delivered pollutants to stream, Tank model to generate daily runoff and QUAL2E model to predict river water quality, were incorporated into GIS. The system was applied to $80km^2$ watershed in Icheon Gun and Yongin Gun, Kyonggi Do. The spatial distributions of produced pollutant load, discharged pollutant load, delivered ratio to the stream, and the river water quality status for given sites were successfully generated.
