  • When the target maneuver occurs, the estimate of the standard Kalman filter is biased and its performance may be seriously degraded. To solve this problem, this paper proposes a new intelligent estimation algorithm for a maneuvering target. This algorithm is to estimate the unknown target maneuver by a fuzzy system using the relation between the filter residual and its variation. The detected acceleration input is regarded as an additive process noise. To optimize the employed fuzzy system, the genetic algorithm (GA) is utilized. And then, the modified filter is corrected by the new update equation method using the fuzzy system. The tracking performance of the proposed method is compared with those of an interacting multiple model (IMM).

  • Parallel genetic algorithms are particularly easy to implement and promise substantial gains in performance. Its basic idea is to keep several subpopulations that are processed by genetic algorithms. Furthermore, a migration mechanism produces a chromosome exchange between subpopulation. In this paper, a new selection method based on non-linear fitness assignment presented. The use of proposed ranking selection permits higher local exploitation search, where the diversity of populations is structure. Experimental results show that the relation between local-global search balance and the probabilities of reaching a desired solution.

  • This paper focuses on the optimal step-over value for magnetic tool path. Since magnetic flux density is changed according to distance from center of magnetic tool. Enhanced surface roughness is also different according to change of radius. Therefore, to get a identical surface roughness on workpiece, it is necessary to find optimal tool path including step-over. In this study, response surface models for surface roughness according to change of radiuses were developed, and then optimal enhanced surface roughness for each radius was selected using genetic algorithm and simulated annealing to investigate relation between radius and surface roughness. As a result, it found that step-over value of 6.6mm is suitable for MAP of magnesium alloy.

  • Due to the wide and effective use of sucker controlling chemicals, gentic studies on the suckering habits of tobacco plants have long been neglected. So, to investigate the genetic basis of suckering, crosses between "Little Dutch" and "Cuban" were made, and subsequent generations, $F_1F_2,\;BC_1,\;BC_2,$ and parents were grown on the field. Several morphological characters were measured and the relation among them were analyzed. Correlation coefficients between leaf shape and sucker leaf shape, and the number of suckers and sucker weight were 0.25 and 0.42, both sighificant at 1 % level. But negative correlation between number of suckers per plant and that of leaves was observed, though statistically not significant. Dominance was observed in the number of suckers and amount of suckers produced, and the heritability of sucker shape was calculated as high as 0.88. And two paris of genes seemed to be involved in the inheritance of sucker shape, and narrow leaf appeared as dominant in the $F_1$.inant in the $F_1$.

  • Objectives : We investigated genetic toxicity of HMCO5 in relation to chromosome aberration test on Cultured Chinese Hamster Lung (CHL) in the presence and absence of S-9 mix. Methods : Experimental groups were divided into two groups: with S-9mix (+S) or without S-9 mix (-S). -S group was also divided 2 series by treatment hours (6 hr: 6-S; or 24 hr; 24-S). Each group treated with vehicle only (complete culture medium), HMCO5 (1,250, 2,500, $5,000\;{\mu}g/ml$), and cyclophosphamide monohydrate (CPA) and ethylmethanesulfonate (EMS), respectively. Results : HMC05 did not show any aberrant metaphase. However, there were significant (p < 0.01) aberrant metaphases with CPA in S+ and with EMS in S-. Conclusions : These results indicate that HMC05 formula does not show any toxicity in chromosome aberration test.

  • Objective: To investigate a kallikrein-related peptidase 2 (KLK2) single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) in relation to male infertility because of its role in semen processing. We investigated the genetic association of the KLK2+255G>A genotype with male infertility. Methods: We genotyped the SNP site located in intron 1 (+255G>A, rs2664155) of KLK2 from 218 men with male infertility (cases) and 220 fertile males (controls). Pyrosequencing analysis was performed for the genotyping. Results: The SNP of the KLK2 gene had a statistically significant association with male infertility (p<0.05). The odds ratio for the minor allele (+255A) in the pooled sample was 0.47 (95% confidence intervals, 0.26-0.85) for rs2664155. Conclusion: The relationship of KLK2 SNP to male infertility is statistically significant, especially within the non-azoospermia group. Further study is needed to understand the mechanisms associated with male infertility.

  • In this paper, we propose an interacting multiple model (IMM) method using intelligent tracking filter with fuzzy gain to reduce tracking errors for maneuvering targets. In the proposed filter, the unknown acceleration input for each sub-model is determined by mismatches between the modelled target dynamics and the actual target dynamics. After a acceleration input is detected, the state estimates for each sub-filter are modified. To modify the accurate estimation, we propose the fuzzy gain based on the relation between the filter residual and its variation. To optimize each fuzzy system, we utilize the genetic algorithm (GA). The tracking performance of the proposed method is compared with those of the adaptive interacting multiple model(AIMM) method and input estimation (IE) method through computer simulations.

  • Machining route selection to produce parts should be based on shop flow information because of input data at scheduling tasks and is one of the main problem in process planning. This paper addresses the problem of machining route selection in multi-stage process with machine group included a similar function. The model proposed is formulated as 0-1 integer programing considering the relation of parts and machine table size, avaliable time of each machine for planning period, and delivery date. The objective of the model is to minimize the sum of processing, transportation, and setup time for all parts. Genetic algorithm approach is developed to solve this model. The efficiency of the approach is examined in comparison with the method of branch and bound technique for the same problem. Also, this paper is to solve large problem scale and provide it if the multiple machining routes are existed an optimal solution.

  • The aim of this study was to determine genotypes of four genetic markers and to investigate their association with milk production traits in Brown Swiss cattle imported to Slovakia. The bovine $\kappa$-casein, $\beta$-lactoglobulin, growth hormone and prolactin genotypes of 107 cows were identified by polymerase chain reaction. Effects all four genetic markers on milk, fat, protein and lactose yields and fat, protein and lactose percentage were estimated from a data set of 249 lactations. The frequency of desirable B allele of $\kappa$-casein gene to milk production was 0.46, alleles A of $\beta$-lactoglobulin gene was 0.55, allele and L of growth hormone gene was 0.45 and allele A and B of bovine prolactin gene were 0.61 and 0.39. The results of milk production obtained in our work showed that BB genotypes of $\kappa$-CN gene, AA genotypes of $\beta$-LG gene, LL genotypes of bGH gene were significantly associated with better milk production traits, mainly about the fat content. Association of a bovine prolactin genotypes with milk production were not found.

  • Bone mineral density (BMD) is one of the quantitative traits that are genetically inherited and affected by various factors. Over the past years, genome-wide association studies (GWASs) have searched for many genetic loci that influence BMD. A recent meta-analysis of 17 GWASs for BMD of the femoral neck and lumbar spine is the largest GWAS for BMD to date and offers 64 single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in 56 associated loci. We investigated these BMD loci in a Korean population called Korea Association REsource (KARE) to identify their validity in an independent study. The KARE population contains genotypes from 8,842 individuals, and their BMD levels were measured at the distal radius (BMD-RT) and midshaft tibia (BMD-TT). Thirteen genomic loci among 56 loci were significantly associated with BMD variations, and 3 loci were involved in known biological pathways related to BMD. In order to find putative functional variants, nearby SNPs in relation to linkage equilibrium were annotated, and their possible functional effects were predicted. These findings reveal that tens of variants, not a single factor, may contribute to the genetic architecture of BMD; have an important role regardless of ethnic group; and may highlight the importance of a replication study in GWASs to validate genuine loci for BMD variation.
