  • This paper was practiced insulation failure test forcing to accelerate on frequency of 420 HZ. There was manufactured generator stator windings for 500MVA thermal plants and selected accelerating deterioration voltage of 5.5kV/mm for electrical aging. Moreover, so as to verification of this experiments, we carried out modeling analysis due to finite element method using to ANSYS5.0 program for common package and imitated multi-stress aging for analyzing electrical and mechanical stress distribution.

  • The rotational loss is one of the most important problems for the practical applications of PM synchronous motor/generator. This rotational loss is divided as the mechanical loss by windage and bearing and iron loss by hysteresis loop and eddy current in the part of the magnetic field. So, In this paper, a double-sided PMSM/G without the iron loss is designed by analytical method of the magnetic field and estimation of the back-EMF constant represented as the design parameter. This design model consists of the double-sided PM rotor with Halbach magnetized array and coreless 3-phase winding stator. The results show that the double-sided PMSM/G without iron loss can be applicable to the required system without the rotational loss.

  • 오프 그리드 형태의 소형풍력발전기는 도심지 또는 사람이 거주하는 지역에 설치되므로 소음, 진동, 안전성 등에 많은 문제가 야기되고 있다. 풍력발전기 내부적으로 소음 및 진동에 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 요소는 코깅토크로 발전기 회전자가 회전할 때 고정자 슬롯과 회전자 영구자석 사이 공극 릴럭턴스 변화에 의해 발생한다. 또한, 코깅토크는 풍력발전기의 초기 기동 풍속에 영향을 미치며, 토크리플 증가의 원인이 되어 코깅토크 저감 설계는 소형풍력발전기 설계에서 필수적으로 이루어져야 한다. 본 논문에서는 실험계획법을 진행하여 이중고정자 발전기의 영구자석 형상 최적화 설계를 통해 코깅토크를 저감 설계를 실시하였으며, 추가적으로 발전기 출력 전압 고조파 발생을 저감시켰다.

  • This test was performed to assess the insulation deterioration condition of the stator winding of Chung-Ju hydrogenerator #4 and Dae-Cheong hydrogenerator #2 which had been in service after being constructed 1980. The insulation diagnostic tests include resistance polarization index(P.I.) AC current, dissipation factor(Tan ${\delta}$) and partial discharges ($Q_{max}$). The results of diagnostic tests were compared to factory test measurements.

  • Mechanical and electrical properties of mica/epoxy composite materials were investigated by dynamic mechanical analyzer(DMA) and dielectric analysis (DMA). Both modulus and permittivity of sound specimens were higher than those of aged specimens. Two results show that $tan{\delta}$ of sound specimens is lower than that of aged specimens. DMA results showed that glass transition temperatures of sound and aged specimens are observed to be $87.16^{\circ}C$ and $88.38^{\circ}C$, which increases with the increase of aging time.

  • Analysis of the partial discharge signal, a technique to diagnose the stator winding insulation is a key function for the diagnosis of high voltage rotating machines and requires high precision. To satisfy this requirement, various denoising techniques such as filtering and differential methods were proposed. However, these techniques can not eliminate a adjacent induction noise that decreases reliability of the diagnosis. A simple novel denoising algorithm, therefore, is proposed for removing the adjacent induction noise in this paper. The algorithm shows good performance in the real partial discharge signals measured by 13kV class capacitive couplers installed at hydro-generator in Dae-cheong Dam.

  • We studied the partial discharge detecting by sensing electromagnetic wave emitted from the partial discharge source in the HV Rotating Machine with the new prototype patch antenna sensor. In this study, we design new type of patch antenna based on microstrip technology and make many experiments of elaine testing compare with the existing HFCT and EM probe on stator winding of HV generator in the laboratory. This paper will mention comparison of experimental results based on the three kinds of sensors.

  • During normal machine operation, partial discharge(PD) measurements were peformed with turbine generator analyzer(TGA) in two high voltage motors(rated 6.6 kV). These high voltage motors were installed with 80 pF capacitive couplers at the terminal box. TGA summarizes each plot with two quantities such as the normalized quantity number(NQN) and the peak PD magnitude (Qm). The trend analyses of NQN and $Q_m$ value are available for monitoring of the insulation condition in stator windings of high voltage motors.

Analysis of Partial Discharge in High Voltage Motor Model Coils (고압전동기 모델 코일의 부분방전 분석)

  • Five model coils of 6.6kV motor were manufactured with several defects. These stator coils have artificial defects such as void of groundwall insulation, removal of semi-conductive coating and damage of strand insulation. Epoxy-mica coupler(80 pF) was connected to five model coil terminals, respectively The voltage applied to the coils was 3.81kV, 4.76kV, 6.0kV and 6.6kV. Partial discharge(PD) tests performed in the laboratory and shield room. Digital PD detector (PDD) and turbine generator analyzer(TGA) were used to measure PD activity. TGA summarizes each plot with two quantities such as the normalized quantity number(NQN) and the peak PD magnitude(Qm). The PD levels in pC were measured with PDD. PD patterns of model coils were indicated the internal and slot discharges. PD patterns coincide with both PDD and TGA.

A Study on Thermal, Mechanical and Electrical Properties as Silane Treated Epoxy/MICA Composites (실란처리된 Epoxy/MICA 콤포지트의 열적, 기계적 전기적 특성연구)

  • In this study, epoxy/mica composite was prepared by mixing with mechanical stirrer together with homogenizer, and the effect of amino-type silane coupling agent was also studied. To reduce the viscosity without any decrement of other properties, 1,4-Butanediol diglycidyl ether (1,4-BDGE) as an aliphatic epoxy reactive diluent was introduced to the epoxy/mica composite in order to use as vanish for high voltage motor and generator stator winding. It was confirmed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) observation that interfacial characteristics between organic epoxy and inorganic mica was modified by coupling agent treatment so that glass transition temperature increased, and tensile strength and electrical breakdown strength increased. The properties were estimated by Weibull statistical analysis and the ac electrical breakdown strength was 20.2% modified by treating silane coupling agent.
