The fine-dust season management system refers to the policy of implementing enhanced reduction measures in transportation, power, business and living sectors in winter, when fine dust levels are high. The fine dust season management system is a regulatory policy that causes social costs and transfers to various economic players. Equity is an important issue for the cost burden. Therefore, in this study, the cost of each power generator was analyzed using the coal power generation reduction amount of each power generator to verify that the cost of the power sector is evenly distributed. In particular, the effect of the fine dust season management system on coal power generation of power generators was analyzed by applying a synthetic control method that can identify the time-variable effect of the policy. It was confirmed that the fine dust season management system reduced volume of fuel and power generation in coal power plants, resulting in an increase in the cost of the power generation sector, even considering the effect of some power demand due to the COVID-19 crisis. However, it could be seen that these costs were not distributed equally among the generators, and that they were more costly to the specific generators.Social costs incurred by fine dust season management need to be improved so that stakeholders are equally burdened.
In South Korea the gross generation and heated effluent of power generation plant was 259 TWh and 4.73 billion tons in 2008. And then the waste heat from power generation was 388 TWh. It shows that the efficiency of thermal power generation plant is about 40%. Therefore to reduce $CO_2$ emission from thermal power generation plant, the energy of this heated effluent must be reused to heat buildings or farm facilities. In South Korea horticultural facilities of about 25% are heated in winter season. Total area of greenhouses which are heated is about 13,000 ha. Total heat amount needed to warm greenhouse of 13,000 ha in winter season is only 3.4% of total waste heat from power generation plant. In this study a heat pump system was designed to reuse the waste heat from power generation. Especially new heat exchanger was developed to recover the thermal energy from waste water and this model considered anti-corrosion against sea water and low cost for economic feasibility. This heat recovery system was installed in mango growing greenhouse around thermal power generation plant in Seogwipo-city, Jeju Special Self-Governing Province. The result of preliminary test shows that the heating cost of about 90% is saved as compared to boiler using tax free light oil as a fuel.

This study aims to analyze the benefit-cost of the cleaning device for photovoltaic power generation systems in buildings in order to check its economic feasibility. A product, which has similar characteristics to the ultrasound-based cleaning device and is widely used in South Korea, was selected to compare with the benefit-cost value of the ultrasound-based cleaning device in this study. In order to quantitatively and qualitatively analyze benefit and cost aspects of the two products, categories and evaluation factors of each aspect as well as evaluation criteria were identified. Based on the identified evaluation factors and criteria, this study conducted face-to-face interviews with 15 experts to measure weights of benefit and cost aspects of the products. As the results, the total benefit weight of the ultrasound-based cleaning device was larger than its total cost weight since the benefit-cost value was greater than 1, which was 1.6 times of that of to compared product. Therefore, from the economic perspective, it is worth to develop the cleaning device for photovoltaic power generation systems applying ultrasound technology.
With the development of photovoltaic industry, the cost of photovoltaic power generation has become the significant issue. And the metallization process has decided the cost of original materials and photovoltaic efficiency of the solar cells. Nowadays, double printing process has been introduced instead of one-step printing process for front contact of polycrystalline silicon solar cells, which can effectively improve the photovoltaic conversion efficiency of silicon solar cells. Here, the relative cheap Cu paste has replaced the expensive Ag paste to form Ag/Cu composite front contact of silicon solar cells. The photovoltaic performance and the cost of photovoltaic power generation have been investigated. With the optimization on structure and height of Cu finger layer for Ag/Cu composite double-printed front contact, the silicon solar cells have exhibited a photovoltaic conversion efficiency of 18.41%, which has reduced 3.42 cent per Watt for the cost of photovoltaic power generation.
This paper uses research on the Levelized Cost of Electricity (LCOE) in South Korea to conduct a simulation analysis on the impact of nuclear power dependency and usage rates on the social costs of power generation. We compare the $7^{th}$ basic plan for long-term electricity supply and demand, which was designed to increase nuclear power generation, to the $8^{th}$ basic plan for long-term electricity supply and demand that decreased nuclear power generation and increased renewable energy generation in order to estimate changes in social costs and electricity rates according to the power generation mix. Our environmental generation mix simulation results indicate that social costs may increase by 22% within 10 years while direct generation cost and electricity rates based on generation and other production costs may increase by as much as 22% and 18%, respectively. Thus we confirm that the power generation mix from the $8^{th}$ basic plan for long-term electricity supply and demand compared to the $7^{th}$ plan increases social costs of generation, which include environmental external costs.

This study defines the Next Generation System(NGS) built by domestic financial businesses and classifies their architecture into two typical types according to the duration of the project and the relative cost of IT investment in the short term: the Big Bang approach and the Phase approach. Herein, we study the two approaches as alternatives in developing the Next Generation System, and derive the factors that are to be considered in the evaluation of the two alternatives for financial businesses. The set of standards for the choice between the two models are grouped into categories that constitute performance evaluation for IT - Cost, Performance and Risk. We drill down further into each category to second and third subordinate levels to derive detailed selection criteria. Based on the criteria drawn from the study, we conduct a survey with information system planners, IT managers and specialists at financial companies who are currently planning, developing or have completed a Next Generation System. Survey results are analyzed using the AHP methodology to compare and understand the different approach in the implementation of NGS for financial business.
Global warming has pressured companies to put a greater emphasis on environment management which allows them to reduce environmental impact and costs of their operations. In Korea, the coal-fired power plants take a large account of electricity generation at 31.7% of the total electricity usage in 2014. Thus, environmental impact of coal-fired power plants is significant. This paper illustrated how to compute environmental impact and costs in electricity generation at a coal-fired power plant using MFCA methodology. Compared to the traditional accounting, an advantage of MFCA is to provide information on electricity generation costs and environmental wastes incurring throughout the production process of electricity. Based on MFCA, the coal-fired power plant was able to reduce production cost of electricity by 52.3%, and environmental wastes by 47.7%. As a result, MFCA seemed to be an effective tool in environmental management for power plants.

According to Electricity Acceleration Law of Rural Area recently, the needs for replacement of a small scale diesel power generation facility which supplied electricity to 10-50 households Remote Islands has been revealed due to high operating and maintenance cost of Diesel Power Generation. Optimization of electric power system for Small Remote Islands must be made considering the economics, reliability and stability as power sources and estimation of total construction cost of those power stations. For its purpose, an assessment of power generation options such as Photovoltaic, Fuel cell, Wind-hybrid was implemented, economic evaluation of power supply shows the Photovoltaic, Fuel Cell for few household's islands and Diesel, Wind-hybrid for more inhabited islands. Power supplied by Diesel shows the best response to increasing electric demand and system reliability even with its lower economic value. Those who are in charge of power planning have to pay attention to system reliability, stability and operating characteristics of candidate's power supply besides its economics.

In order to increase the generation of renewable energy, it is necessary to increase or decrease the generation amount of existing generators. The generators that respond rapidly to increase / decrease the generation amount generally have high generation cost. Therefore, Cost effectiveness is affected. In this paper, we propose a PV remote control system with big data to minimize the uncertainty of solar power generation prediction.
