With the advent of computers and network, the Internet(World Wide Web) is becoming more prevalent than ever before. The ICT and the policy of the development of information technology are also applied to the elementary school environment. In the elementary school field, we can easily find that children have different web-site preferences based on gender. There is a lot of research about adult gender issues for the purpose of customer analysis to increase business profits. However, there is little research about the gender factor in web-based instruction or educational web sites. Elementary school children are beginning to experience the Internet. In this study, we consider the analysis of the use and perception of the Internet based on gender differences, and discuss concrete guidelines in regards to elementary school pupil and therefore create Web Based Instruction or Educational Web Contents.
Purpose: This study intends to investigate gender role identity and egalitarianism consciousness among adolescents and to determine the relationship between the two factors. Method: Data were collected from 376 middle and high school students in U City. Tools used were the Korean Sexual Role Identity (Kim, J. H., 2005) and the Gender Egalitarianism Consciousness among Adolescents (Kim, 2002). Data were analyzed using SPSS 12.0 for t-test, one-way ANOVA and Pearson correlation coefficient. Results: There was no significant difference between boys and girls in sender role identity. Boys' gender role identity was different according to school grade (t=-3.19, p= .00), frequency of mother's hugging (t=-2.28, p= .02) and girls' according to religion (t=-2.24, p= .03) mother's job (F=3.59, p= .02), father's education level (F=3.20, p= .04), mother's education level (F=3.24, p= .04), family harmony (F=7.28, p= .00), and frequency of mother's hugging (t=-2.41. p= .02). There was significant difference in egalitarianism consciousness according to sender (t=-12.70. p= .00) Boys' egalitarianism consciousness was different according to school type (t= .02, p= .00) and father's education level (F=4.97, p= .02), and girls' according to school grade (t=-4.21 p= .00), school type (t=-3.12, p= .00), father's level of education (F=3.78. p= .02), decision maker of important domestic matter (F=4.95, p= .00) and frequency of mother's hugging (t=2.53, p= .01). In Girls, sexual role identity and sender egalitarianism consciousness were significantly correlated with each other (r= .01, p= .04). Conclusion: Through the study, it was found that boys' concern for sexual equality of was remarkably lower than girls. Therefore, it is necessary to offer curriculums for boys and to start social education for parents.
The purpose of this research is to draw some implications for reducing gender differences in educational achievement of mathematics by inquiring those in mathematics-related attitudes. For this purpose, this article analyzed the gender difference in mathematics-related attitudes of the elementary, middle, and high school students. Also, mathematics-related attitudes according to achievement levels was analyzed. The findings of this study are as follows. Firstly, in the scores on mathematics-related attitudes, male students were significantly higher than those of female students. Secondly, in the evaluation of the subordinate factors of mathematics-related attitudes, gender differences were shown a little bit larger in the areas of interest and self confidence than in the area of perception of mathematics value regardless of grades. Thirdly, in all schools, the higher achievement level is, the higher the score of mathematics-related attitudes is. Lastly, gender differences on mathematics-related attitudes in advanced level group is bigger than those in other level groups.
Gender differences in the trace elements of monkey sino-atrial (SA) node were investigated in a process of age-dependent alterations. Sixty hearts from Japanese and rhesus monkeys (30 male and 30 female) used were aged ranging from 1-day- to 30-year-old. The elements were analyzed using an inductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectrometer (ICP-AES). Advancing age decreased all the trace elements. Ca, P, S and Mg significantly decreased. The correlation coefficients of Ca and P were $-0.178{\pm}0.081$ (p<0.05) and $-0.088{\pm}0.022$ (p<0.05) in male (n=30), and $-0.095{\pm}0.026$ (p<0.05) and $-0.069{\pm}0.017$ (p<0.05) in female (n=30), respectively. The age-dependent coefficients for Fe/Ca, Zn/Ca, Fe/P, Fe/S, Zn/S, Fe/Mg and Zn/Mg were exhibited markedly in male, but all was less in female. In gender-related differences, only a ratio of P/Ca (p<0.05) was significantly observed with ageing. The trace elements such as Cu, Se and Sn were less detected in the SA nodes. These results indicate that the age-dependent changes in the ratios of elements are appeared more rapidly in male monkey SA node, and the gender difference is observed in ratio of P/Ca. The different attenuations may be involved with the age- and gender-related SA nodal functions.

The main purpose of this study is to examine the gay men's clothing attitude and preference according to gender role, for reviewing their clothing culture. Specifically, this study focuses on 1) investigating gay men's clothing attitude(brand orientation, conformity, fashion leadership, sexual attractiveness), 2) identifying their clothing preference, 3) comparing the difference of lifestyle, and 4) comparing the difference of their preference color and wearing the accessary, according to their gender role. Futhermore, this study compares those factors between gay men and heterosexual men. The data was collected from 168 persons(76 gay men and 92 heterosexual men) in LGHRF(Lesbian & Gay Human Rights Federation), Korea Gaymen's Coalition and adult men living in Seoul. To analyze data, the methodology adopted in this study is frequency, t-test, and ANOVA. The results found in this study are as followings: First, sexual attractiveness was significant factor for the gay men's clothing attitude and not concern about conformity. According to the gender role, bottom, who have much of the woman in composition, was more higher for the fashion leadership than top, who have a propensity for masculine. Second, gay men prefer to masculine, simple and casual style. According to the gender role, 'top' was more likely to masculine, simple and formal style rather than 'Bottom'. Third, Gay men were much more concern about a cultural life style. Furthermore, a preference color for both group was blue. Especially, gay men tended to prefer a chromatic color. The implication getting from conclusion in this study was to study Gay men's taste for a fashion, clothing attitude and their preference to purchase, etc., in considering their buying power for clothing in a fashion market.
Gender differences in the seperation of emplo-yment from home and commuting patterns of the Seoul Area are examined in this paper. Throughout the analysis, it is found that there exist a substantial gender variation in comm-uting rates. Even though the regional variation of commuting rates of male workers is very small, the female workers' regional variation of commuting rates is substantial. Especially, the area around the traditional central place of Kangbuk, the area near the Youngdungpo and Kuro where manufacturing and retailing activities are concentrated, and the area where low-income families are concentrated show high rate of female commuting. In contrast, the traditional residential area, especially the high-income area of Kangnam, shows lower rate of female commuting. Generally, female workers tend to work closer to home than male workers. Accordingly, the job search range of female workers is smaller than that of mle workers. But the areal unit of job search range of female workers is wider at least than Dong. The fact that female workers' job search area is smaller than male workers' implies that the job opportunity around the home location could have more impacts on female workers' job search process than male workers' job search process. There is a substantial difference in commuting behavior between male and female workers. In general, male workers commute longer, use more expensive transportation mode, and pay higher transportation cost in comparision with female workers. These gender differences in commuting behavior could be resulted not only form the gender difference in the seperation of employment form work, but also form the gender difference in the social status in both work place and home.
Korea does not have a certain criteria on the respiratory ability and phonation of the normal aged, and also has no clear standard to examine the boundaries of geriatric diseases. This study analyzed the characteristics in respiration and phonation of the aged in normal healthy elderly from diverse angles with different variables. Thirty-three participants in total, seven males and eight females in the age group 55-64 participated in the study. Seven males and eleven females in the age group 65-74 were selected for the respiration and phonation experiments, and 10 different variables such as FVC, $FEV_1$, $FEV_1$/FVC, MPT, MFR, Psub, f0, jitter, shimmer and NHR were comparatively analyzed for each group of different age and gender. To see the difference in respiration and phonation by age and gender, the study conducted a two-way ANOVA. First, from the result of the analysis on respiratory ability, FVC of male appeared to be significantly greater than female. In both age groups of 55-64 and 65-74, male displayed greater FVC than female did. Second, as for $FEV_1$, $FEV_1$/FVC, the age group of 55-64 showed greater values than the values measured in the age group of 65-74. Third, MFR showed a significant difference by gender. In both age groups, male showed significantly higher MFR than female. Fourth, for different gender, a significant difference in MFR was observed. In both age groups of 55-64 and 65-74, male exhibited higher MFR than female. This study has a clinical implication in that it analyzed the criteria on respiration and phonation in normal healthy elderly according to gender and age. The normal aged showed a difference in their respiratory and phonatory functions by age and gender, it was closely related to the decline of pulmonary function due to the physical aging and the weak respiration coming from weakness of respiratory muscles. Also, the physical differences in height, weight, and the muscles in laryngeal and respiratory system between males and females had an influence on the performance. These results from this study might be a helpful guideline for the clinical criterion in the future.
This study examined the gender differences' composition affecting poverty in Busan and possible strategies for overcoming poverty. It was found that there were both common and differentiating points regarding gender in poverty situations. Poverty stricken women, tended to be older and less educated than their male counterparts. In the case of men, they were more likely to have physical disabilities than women. There were more women compared to men when regarding divorce and separation due to the death of a spouse as contributing to poverty. Women estimated that it was much easier to overcome their poverty situation as they were younger and had more income. However, there were gender differences in regard to actual re-establishment. For men, education level was the most important variable for overcoming poverty while for women; the existence of a spouse was the important variable. These results suggest that a gender sensitive approach is necessary to address and find solutions to the poverty issue. Therefore, it is hoped that this study's findings may provide valuable information and support for changes to the welfare policy.
The purpose of this study is to examine the mediate effect of gender on the differences of consumers grouped by the level of fashion interest. Data was collected from 280 men and women of their twentieth and analyzed using crosstab analysis, ANOVA, scheff'e test, x$^{2}$ test, and regression. The results are as follows. First, high interest groups showed little difference in the clothing shopping orientation and showed significant differences in the clothing purchasing behaviors(visiting store, time spent for shopping, and monthly clothing expenditure) between men and women. Second, low interest groups showed a lot of differences in both the clothing shopping orientation and the clothing purchasing behaviors between men and women. Third, several dimensions of clothing shopping orientation were more influenced from fashion interest level rather than the gender of consumers, and other several dimensions, visiting store, and the time spent for shopping were more influenced from gender rather than fashion interest level. These results imply that the gender of consumer has mediate effect on the behaviors of consumers grouped by the level of fashion interest, and the consumers of same fashion interest level must be approached concerning the gender of consumers.

The purpose of this study was to determine the gender differences in affecting factors of perceived stress level. The present study analyzed 2011 data of the Korea Community Health Survey and a total of 229,226 participants was included. To investigate the affecting factors of perceived stress, multiple logistic regression analyses were conducted. There were gender differences in affecting factors of perceived stress by education level, number of family members, household income, and self-care. This suggests that gender differences may exists between perceived stress level and health related quality of life. Further studies are necessary to investigate whether the cause of the gender differences in stress perception.
