연변 지역의 조선족과 한족 및 한국 아동의 기질 비교 (Cross-Cultural Differences in Temperament Among Korean-Chinese, Chinese in Yanji and Korean Children)

  • This study investigated the cross-cultural differences in temperament among Chinese, Korean-Chinese, and Korean children. Subjects were 1,046(258 Korean-Chinese, 290 Chinese, and 498 Korean) 4th graders from Yanji in China and Seoul and Ulsan in Korea. The short form of the Early Adolescent Temperament Questionnaire Scale-Revised containing 10 scales of 54 items was translated into Korean for Korean and Korean-Chinese children and into Chinese for Chinese children and was administered to children via home-room teachers. Chinese children rated themselves higher on activation control, attention, and pleasure- and perceptual-sensitivity subscales than other groups. On the contrary, Chinese-Korean children rated themselves higher on the affiliation subscale and Korean children rated themselves higher on the aggression subscale than other groups. There were larger gender differences among Chinese and Korean-Chinese than among Korean children: Gender difference was found in activation control, aggression, and attention subscales among Chinese children and in affiliation, aggression, attention and fear subscales among Korean-Chinese. There was only significant difference in pleasure sensitivity among Korean. Rapid westernization in Korea seems to be responsible for this result. Since there were significant differences of temperament between Korean and Korean-Chinese, and between Chinese and Korean-Chinese, it was interpreted that children's temperament is influenced by both their environment and genetic endowment.

Chinese Sensitivity Analysis for a Compact Car Exterior Design

  • This paper uses the sensibility engineering method to find the model of automobile most appealing to buyers in the $4^{th}$ and $5^{th}$ tier cities of China. Samples of class A & A0 cars were shown to 96 subjects in those cities to investigate their responses in relation to the concepts 'modern' and 'smart'. The result shows that even though men tend to be more sensitive to automobile models in general than women are, both genders showed similar responses to specific models when they were asked to identify a model 'magnificent', 'modern', 'lively', 'smart' or 'cute'. This implies that despite the gender differences in terms of aesthetic sensitivity, both men and women share similar taste in relation to the appearance of cars. Apart from aesthetics, however, men tend to pay a greater attention to the details of design and material used for the cars, while women tend to pay attention to higher priced and better looking cars.

Doing More by Seeing Less: Gritty Applicants are Less Sensitive to Facial Threat Cues

  • People differ greatly in their capacity to persist in the face of challenges. Despite significant research, relatively little is known about cognitive factors that might be involved in perseverance. Building upon human threat-management mechanism, we predicted that perseverant people would be characterized by reduced sensitivity (i.e., longer detection latency) to threat cues. Our data from 5,898 job applicants showed that highly perseverant individuals required more time to correctly identify anger in faces, regardless of stimulus type (dynamic or static computer-morphed faces). Such individual differences were not observed in response to other facial expressions (happiness, sadness), and the effect was independent of gender, dispositional anxiety, or conscientiousness. Discussions were centered on the potential role of threat sensitivity in effortful pursuit of goals.

캐주얼 셔츠소재에 대한 주관적 감각과 구매 선호도 평가 (Assessment of Subjective Sensation and Purchasing Preferences for Casual Shirt Fabrics)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the subjective sensations and preference for spring/fall casual cotton shirt fabrics, and to assist in developing shirt fabrics that offer maximum comfort in wearing sensation. The subjects of this study were male and female college students who assessed the tactile sensation of seven types of spring/fall shirt fabrics available on the market: plain weave and rib weave made of cotton and that of cotton mixed fabrics. The subjects were university students between the ages of 20 to 23, who were residing in the city of Cheongju, Korea. The questionnaires related to the fabrics hand were evaluated using a nine point bi-polar scale of 9 descriptive terms. Mean, t-test, F-test and $X^2$ were used for data analysis. The fabric hand evaluation on the seven types of shirts showed a significant difference in all of the 9 descriptive terms. There were partially significant differences in the subjective sensations according to fabric characteristics regarding shirt fabrics. As regards the difference in fabric hand according to gender, female students responded with more receptiveness and sensitivity than male students in the category of woven fabric evaluation. In particular, female students responded with more sensitivity to the sensation of dense and wrinkle sensations. There were significant differences in the purchase preference according to gender regarding casual shirt fabrics. Plain weave fabrics made of cotton was most preferred among male students, whereas rib weave fabrics made of cotton/polyester was most preferred among female students.

MZ세대에 대한 대중감성 연구: 소셜미디어(SNS) 감성 분석을 통해 (A Study on Popular Sentiment for Generation MZ: Through social media (SNS) sentiment analysis)

  • 본 연구에서는 소셜 미디어 빅데이터 감성분석 방법을 통해 'MZ세대'에 대한 대중 감성을 살펴보았다. 분석을 위해 소비자 계정 SNS 텍스트를 살펴보고 내용상 외부 감성과 MZ세대 본인들의 감성을 분류하여 긍정 및 부정 감성 요인들을 제시하였다. 이에 따른 결론은 'MZ세대' 관련하여 호감과 흥미의 긍정정서가 72.1%로, 부정적인 감성비율 27.9 % 보다 높았다. 긍정감성에서 기성세대들은 'MZ세대의 개성과 당당함에 대한 호감', '새로운 가치관을 가진 MZ세대에 대한 흥미'를 보였다. 이에 비해 MZ세대들은 '자신들의 당당함, 발랄함 및 개성 세대라는 점'과 '소소한 성장주의'에 대한 호감을 갖고 있다. MZ세대 외부의 부정감성은 'MZ세대의 결혼기피, 취업난, 빚투자 및 퇴사 트랜드에 대해 걱정', '꼰대 취급하는 MZ 세대 미움', 'MZ세대와 대화하기 힘듦'으로 나타났다. 한편, MZ세대 본인들이 느끼는 부정감성은 '일반화에 대한 거부감', '세대 및 젠더 갈등과 기성세대보다 심한 경쟁에 대한 거부감', '풍요로운 시대의 상대적 실패감', '예고된 기후재앙 속에서 살아야하는 슬픔'으로 나타났다. 따라서 기성세대는 MZ세대를 일반화하여 바라볼 것이 아니라 개인으로 보아야 하며, 세대간 이해와 공감으로 갈등을 완화해야한다. 세대 갈등, 젠더 갈등 및 환경문제 해결을 위한 공동체적인 고민의 필요성도 있다.

  • The culture phenomenon, which the desire of self expression is noticeable and the diversity of gender identity is widely accepted, simply makes a difference in the lifestyle of one human being rather than the dichotomous classification of male and female. Now, the delicate and aesthetic sensitivity classified as the feminine characteristics is no longer the exclusive property of female and this refers to substituting it as a social gender from the concept of biological sex. This phenomenon has influenced on the male culture and is creating various codes according to the cultural gender extended from the gender as a social role. Also, the transition into the western lifestyle has extended the aesthetic emotion to accommodate new codes from the diversification and globalization of lifestyle. The mansumer power, which does not care too much about the money for the emotionally attached items, has enabled various fashion styles. After analyzing the diversified clothing behavior conducted by these people in connection with the social phenomenon, First, this shows the phenomenon of emotional value pursuit that finds pleasure over the clothing as the item of augmented reality is added to the concept of play, in which the real space referred to as garment and virtual space of playing the rock, paper and scissors game meet together within the augmented reality. Second, the convergence concept has enabled the coordination of new style by obscuring the area of design concept and this refers to the changes in design from the development of new items and transformation into double-style details. Third, the divergence that intensively provides specific use/convenience and specialized value shows a change in the fashion market from the phenomenon that admits various gene rations of culture and specifically, takes differently about the recognition of middle-aged males. Fourth, the variety seeking tendency receives attention as the value of future design together with the phenomenon of discriminative value pursuit. In the male fashion, it is linked to the collaboration with the design area and this tells that the fashion with the narcissistic cross-dressing and motto of neutral gender without being sided to male/female is rising.

양성평등 관점에서 본 중학교 「기술·가정」 교과서의 남녀 삽화 연구 (A Study on the Illustrations of Male and Female on the Middle School 「Technology·Home Economics」 Textbooks from the Gender Equality Perspective)

  • 성 고정관념에서 오는 성별 불평등의 해결을 위해서는 여성과 남성 즉 젠더적 민감성과 더불어 젠더에 대한 올바른 인식이 선행되어야 한다. 이러한 점을 인지하고 개선 및 보안하고자 가정 교과에서는 교과서를 중심으로 한 양성평등에 대한 연구가 꾸준히 진행되어 왔다. 반면 2015 교육과정 개편이 새로이 있었으나 성 평등적 관점에 기초한 교과서 분석은 충분하지 못한 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구는 양성평등 관점에 기반을 두고 기술 가정 교과서를 분석하였다. 본 논문의 목적은 「기술·가정」 교과서 내 삽화가 학생들에게 균형적인 사회상을 제시한다는 교과서로서의 책임을 다 하고 있는지 알아보는 것이다. 이를 위하여 12개 출판사에서 발행한 검정교과서 「기술·가정 1」과 기술·가정 2」를 기준으로 총 24권을 분석 대상으로 선정하였고 삽화의 외형적 특징과 내용적 특징을 분석범주로 삼아 진행하였다. 연구결과를 종합해 판단해보자면 우리 교과서가 모든 면에서 성 평등적이라고 평가하기는 어려운 것으로 보인다. 부분적으로는 많은 개선이 있었지만 여전히 특정 성별에 편중되어 성 정형성이 잔재하고 있었으며 개선이 필요한 점으로 보였다. 따라서 학생들이 자발적이며 능동적인 태도를 갖추고 비판의식을 함양한다는 성 평등교육의 목적을 이루기위해서는 여성과 남성이 다양한 분야에서 서로 협력하며 활약하는 균형적인 사회상을 학생들에게 제시하는 것이 필요하다. 이를 위해 교과서 편집 시 성별의 처방적 고정관념이 존재하는 것은 아닌지 주의하고 편견 요소를 축소하여 양성평등 한 교육과정을 실현하기 위한 지속적인 점검 및 검토를 진행하는 방안이 필요함을 알 수 있다.

성역할정체감에 따른 체면민감성과 외모관리행동 (Social Face Sensitivity and Appearance Management Behaviors according to Sex Role Identity)

  • The purpose of this study was to classify sex role identity into groups and analyze the difference of social face sensitivity and appearance management behaviors by sex role identity. Questionnaires were administered to 306 people in their twenties and thirties living in Daegu Metropolitan City and Kyoungbuk province. The data was analyzed by using frequency, factor analysis, credibility, ${\chi}^2$-test, ANOVA, Duncan-test, and t-test. The findings were as follows. Sex role identity were classified into four groups (androgyny, masculineness, feminineness, and undifferentiation). Men in androgyny group showed the highest rate of 41.3% followed by undifferentiation(24.7%), masculineness(21.3%), and feminineness(12.7%). Women in undifferentiation group showed the highest rate of 35.9% followed by feminineness(24.4%), androgyny(23.7%), and masculineness(16.0%). Social face sensitivity were composed of four factors (consciousness of being embarrassed, social formality, other consciousness, and prestige). Appearance management behaviors were composed of six factors (skin management, fashion image management, plastic surgery management, weight management, hair management, and health management). According to the result of a significant difference between social face sensitivity and appearance management behaviors by sex role identity, male showed significant difference between the sub-variables of social face sensitivity factors (consciousness of being embarrassed, social formality, and other consciousness). Both of the male and female showed a significance of difference in consciousness of being embarrassed, and social formality. Male showed significant difference between the sub-variables of appearance management behaviors factors (fashion image management, weight management, hair management, and health management). Both of the male and female showed a significance of difference in fashion image management. Gender of twenties and thirties showed distinction between the sub-variables of social face sensitivity factors (consciousness of being embarrassed, and prestige) and appearance management behaviors (skin management, fashion image management, plastic surgery management, weight management, and hair management).

성 인지적 관점에서 도시의 여성친화도 평가에 관한 연구 - 안산시 공공디자인 정책사례를 중심으로 - (An Assessment of Woman Friendliness of the City from Gender - Sensitive Perspective View Point - Focused on a Case of Ansan City Public Design Policy -)

  • As the city have been enlarged bigger and more complicated recently, a discussion about a city right, started on the base of perception that a city must be recognized as a public resource and the value. A city rights imply equal use and participation in these city resource. From a start of modern city, a city space have been developed mainly, as a man's economic business and industrial area, but now, to ensure a woman's city right is getting an important factor of citizen's settlement. Then many domestic cities tries to promote a woman friendly city creation. The main purpose of this paper is to find the concept of woman friendly city, based on a gender-sensitive perspective view point and to make an assessment index of Woman Friendliness of the City (WFC). In a case of Ansan City which city is in the planning stage of application for a woman friendly city.

Gender difference in the association of metabolic syndrome with hs-CRP Concentration of Blood

  • The high sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) as one of the typical acute phase reactants is used for predictive factor of the cardiovascular disease and diabetes mellitus. In addition, there are claims that must be included as factors of metabolic syndrome. This research examined the relationship between the concentration of hs-CRP in blood and risk factors of the metabolic syndrome by gender, and the rates of metabolic syndrome depending on the hs-CRP level based on the general public who took the comprehensive medical check-up at Chonbuk National University Hospital in the Jeonbuk province. The subjects aged 17-87 years were participated, and 2,000 people were included as the final subjects except the persons with more than 10 mg/L of the hs-CRP of blood level. The hs-CRP concentrations increased according to the number of risk factors of metabolic syndrome in both men and women. In regards to the risk ratio of metabolic syndrome based on hs-CRP level in blood according to gender, the risk ratio increased by 3.07 times in male and 4.55 times in female intermediate risk group and 3.60 times in male and 6.15 times in female high risk group compared to hs-CRP low risk group. As a result, there was a proportional relation between hs-CRP level and the occurrence of metabolic syndrome, and it occurs more frequently among women than men.
