연령 및 성별에 따른 한국인 단모음 포먼트 비교에 관한 연구 -한방병원 내원환자를 중심으로- (A Study on the Formant Comparison of Korean Monophthongs according to Age and Gender -A Survey on Patients in Oriental Hospitals-)

  • Formant is one of the essential vocal features for research of voice production, recognition and synthesis. Numerous studies were established on foreign languages including English vowels. However, studies related to Korean were done with a limited number of voice data. In this study, we compare four formants according to age and gender using a large number of Korean monophthongs. A total of 2614 Korean speakers participated in our experiments. We summarize statistical results by mean and standard deviation for each formant of five monophthongs. The results show a notable difference in each age and gender group. A quantitative study based on a large dataset is suggested for future studies on Korean speech sounds.

아동의 연령과 성별에 따른 협상수준 (Children's Negotiation Levels with their Age and Gender)

  • This study was to find out children's Negotiation Levels(NLs) according to their age and gender. The subjects for this study were 143 children of 7, 9, 12 years. Two children dyads participated in the experimental play situation with Rokenbok Electronic Toy Systems. The NLs in children's interactive dialogue & actions were scored with Stone, Robinson & Taylor(1980)'s 'Negotiation of Task Completion Coding Manual'. They were coded into Level 0(no interaction), Level l(one way interaction), Level 2(reciprocally interaction), Level 3(mutual or cooperative interaction). The results were as follows; 1) 12-year-old children negotiated with higher level than 7-and 9-year old children 2) Boys' NLs average were higher than girls'. These results imply that 1) the fluctuation of NLs in childhood, especially around 10 years, should be interpreted carefully, 2) various measuring kits for negotiation should be developed considering children's characteristics, such as age, gender etc.

20세기 한국 남성 성역할에 따른 남성복 디자인 변화 특성 연구 (Diachronic Analysis of Korean Men's Wear Design based on Changes in Gender Roles)

  • This study aimed to analyze the changing characteristics between Men's Gender Role and Men's wear Design in 20th century. To analyze the representative Men' Gender roles, the related studies and literatures reviewed. Literature reviews and quantitative studies were performed to analyze the changing differences of Korean Men's wear Deign as a symbolic factors of gender role. The results of study are as follows. 1) The representative men's gender roles in 1900's~1920's were 'Patriarchal/ Stern Man'. The narrow V-zone of jacket and shoulder, high shirt collars and well fitted suits expressed the stern images of that times. 2) In 1930's~50's, 'Enervated/ Escapist Man' were the representative images. They were expressed with wide lapels and shoulders, emphasized V-zone and abundant trousers. Especially 40's style was under the influence of American 'Zoot Style'. 3) The representative gender roles were the men of 'Producer/Provider' in 60's~70's. Shortened jacket, wide lapels & neckties, slim trousers were used to express the strong & young images of Producer/ Provider during the industrialization era. 4) The representative gender roles were 'Attentive/ Intellectual/ Beautiful Men' in 80's~90's. The exaggerated round shoulders which were influenced by 'Big Look', and easy silhouette were related with the attentive images.

보건 분야 국가 연구개발 사업에서의 성 인지성 강화 방안 (Searching for a New Policy of Gender Sensitive National R&D Projects in the field of Health)

  • 성 인지적인 연구란 연구 주체인 연구자 구성에서의 성적 불균형, 과학기술 연구결과의 수혜자들의 성적 불균형, 그리고 연구대상의 성적 불균형을 시정한 연구를 의미한다. 이 논문에서는 성 인지적인 연구란 무엇이며, 유럽 및 미국 등에서 성 인지적 연구들이 어떻게 제도화되고 있는지를 살펴보고, 이들 경험에 비추어 한국의 보건 분야 국가 연구개발사업의 성 인지성을 분석해본다. 성 인지 연구는 NIH의 "임상연구에 여성과 소수자들을 피 실험자로서 포함시키는 것에 관한 가이드라인"의 제정, 캐나다 GSBA 수단의 개발, 유럽연합 FP 프로그램의 성별영향평가를 통해 제도적인 기반을 갖추어가고 있다. 국내 국가연구개발 사업은 연구개발 사업에서 여성 연구자의 참여가 낮을 뿐만 아니라, 연구 주제에서 성 특이성들이 고려되지 못하고 있으며, 연구결과의 수혜자로서 여성의 특이성을 고려하지 않는 연구수행 등으로 성 인지성이 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 성별영향평가가 제도화되고 있는 시점에서 성 인지적인 연구가 강화될 수 있도록 여러가지 제도적인 정책을 모색할 필요가 있다.

과학기술 젠더 불균형: 현황과 과제 (Gender-mainstreaming through Gender-sensitivity in Science and Technology)

  • 과학기술의 젠더 불균형을 개선하기 위한 정책적 시도가 이루어져왔음에도 불구하고 한국 과학기술계에서 여성은 여전히 과소대표되고 있다. 과학기술 젠더 불균형 개선을 위해서는 인력 구조의 측면에서만이 아니라 조직 문화, 교육 제도, 연구 환경에 걸친 다양한 분야에서 젠더 포괄성이 성공적으로 증진된 사례를 모아 분석할 필요가 있다. 본 논문은 과학기술계의 젠더 불균형을 개선하기 위해 과학기술 교육, 연구, 직업적 환경의 전반에 걸쳐 시도된 국외의 성공적 사례들을 수집하였다. 논문의 주된 논의는 다음과 같다. 우선 성공적인 젠더 다양성 증진 사례들이 과학기술계의 제도적, 문화적 환경에 대한 성인지(gender-sensitivity)적 관점에 기반을 두고 있음을 논의하고자 한다. 다음으로 성인지 관점에서 출발한 젠더 불균형 개선 시도들이 일부 여성과학기술자들의 지위 향상을 넘어 과학기술의 개선에 기여할 수 있음을 논의할 것이다. 마지막으로 본 논문은 한국의 과학기술 젠더 불균형 개선을 위한 방안을 제시할 것이다.

한국 성차분쟁(Gender Disputes)의 ADR 활성화 방안 (Measures for ADR Activation of Gender Disputes in Korea)

  • As women's social advance had accomplished improvements to standard of living and equal employment, new forms of dispute such as gender inequality, sex crimes, and divorce rate increases have begun to generate. Disputes between men and women are desirable to settle by ADR rather than by traditional litigation owing to difficulties of legal resolution, cost and time, need for amicable dispute, etc. This study aims to reveal whether there is a relationship between ADR and gender. Through review of previous articles, this study finds that gender difference makes a visible difference depending on case type, context, and sex role of participants. For example, women were selected as mediators and arbitrators in non-monetary and small-claims disputes, family, labor, and consumer disputes and men were selected in large-scale disputes and construction, corporate and commercial, and intellectual property disputes owing to differences of experience and professionalism. Women were relatively frequently selected as mediators owing to active communication skills and men were selected as arbitrators because of decision-making skills.

  • 성별 분류 기술은 법의학, 감시 시스템, 인구 통계 연구 등 다양한 분야에서 활용될 수 있기 때문에, 연구자들로부터 많은 관심을 받고 있다. 남성과 여성의 보행 사이에는 서로 구별되는 특징이 있다는 것이 기존 연구들에서 밝혀지면서, 3차원 보행 데이터에서 성별을 분류하는 다양한 기술들이 제안됐다. 하지만, 기존 기술들을 사용해 3차원 보행 데이터로부터 추출한 보행 특징 중에는 서로 유사 또는 중복되거나 성별 분류에 도움이 되지 않는 특징들도 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 상관관계 기반 특징 선별 기술을 활용해, 성별 분류에 도움이 되는 특징들을 선별하는 방법을 제안한다. 그리고 제안하는 특징 선별 기술의 효용성을 입증하기 위해서, 인터넷상에 공개된 3차원 보행 데이터 세트(Dataset)를 활용하여 제안하는 특징 선별 기술을 적용하기 전과 후에 대해 성별 분류 모델들의 성능을 비교 분석하였다. 실험에는 이진 분류 문제에 적용할 수 있는 여덟 가지의 머신러닝 알고리즘(Machine Learning Algorithms)을 활용하였다. 실험 결과, 제안하는 특징 선별 기술을 사용하면 성별 분류 성능은 유지하면서, 특징의 개수를 82개에서 60개까지, 22개를 줄일 수 있다는 것을 입증하였다.

중국 중학생의 배려심과 성별, 성역할정체감 및 부모의 애정적 양육행동 간의 관계 (Relationships Between Gender, Gender Role Identity, Parent's Affectionate Behaviors and Care in Chinese Middle School Students)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the relationships between gender, gender role identity, parents' affectionate behaviors and care in Chinese middle school students. Also, this study examines the differences in care among Chinese middle school students with respect to parent's socio-demographic variables. The subjects were 478 3rd grade middle school students in Tianjin, China. The major findings were as follows. There were significant differences in care of Chinese middle school students with respect to mother's job and age. In other words, a higher level of care of Chinese middle school students was shown in students who had an unemployed mother, labour mother or mothers of 46 years and over. As result of examining the main effects of gender, gender role identity and parent's affectionate behaviors caring for Chinese middle school students, there were significant with respect to gender role identity and parents' affectionate behaviors. Masculinity, femininity and androgyny identity demonstrated a higher care than undifferentiated identity. Also, a higher level of care was associated with higher parents' affectionate behaviors. There were interaction effects caused by gender and gender role identity in care for Chinese middle school students. Also, there were interaction effects caused by gender and parent's affectionate behaviors on the nature of care for Chinese middle school students.

아동의 성항상성과 성별 특정화 행동 (Children's Sex-Specific Behavior and Their Concept of Gender Constancy)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate (1) the developmental level of children's concept of gender by age and sex. (2) children's sex-specific behaviors by age and sex, and (3) children's sex-specific behaviors by developmental level of gender constancy. The subjects were 164 children (forty 3-year-olds, forty-three 5-year-olds, forty 7-year-olds and forty-one 9-year olds) with nearly equal numbers of boys and girls. They were selected from two kindergartens and one elementary school. A quasi experiment was carried out with the procedures described by Slaby and Frey (1976) to measure children's developmental level of the concept of gender constancy. Two experiments were carried out to observe children's sex-specific behaviors: one for children's toy choice behavior and the other for children's interaction with their peers. Statistical methods adopted for data analysis were frequencies. percentiles, mean. and $X^2$. It was found that children's sex-specific behaviors were different according to their developmental level of gender constancy. Children's developmental level of gender constancy was significantly different according to their age, but there was no difference according to their sex. Children's toy-choice behavior was significantly different according to their age and sex. Children's sex-specific behaviors were significantly different according to their concept of gender constancy.
