  • The purpose of this study was to identify the impact of gender equality consciousness on view of marriage and children in university students. Research tools used questionnaires to understand the level of gender equality consciousness, view on marriage and children. Participants were 205 university students in S city and analysis by frequency, percentage, average, standard deviation, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient, multiple regression using SPSS 28.0 program. The gender equality consciousness appeared as an average of 4.23 points and female students were higher than male students. Gender equality consciousness was negatively correlated with view on marriage and children. Gender equality consciousness in home living life area affected the views on marriage and children. This means that the higher than the higher the sense of gender equality in home living life area, the view on marriage and children was more liberal. To form a positive view of marriage and children of university students, balanced education programs between men and women for gender equality are needed.

  • The purpose of this case study is to analyze the characteristics of social interaction according to gender-grouping in the application of LTTS program. For this study, mixed-gender group A (one boy and three girls or one girl and three boys), mixed-gender group B (two boys and two girls) and same-gender group (4 boys or 4 girls) were formed. Social interactions during group discussions were audio-/video-taped. Social interactions between one boy and one girl in each group were analyzed. The type of social interactions were classified as cognitive and affective interactions. The boy and the girl in the same gender group tended to make suggestion actively, but sometimes they ordered peers to participate or prevented peers from participating. On the other hand, they didn't tend to make suggestion about problem-solving in mixed-gender group A, but made suggestion against peer's opinion using appropriate reasons. The frequency of affective interactions in the mixed gender group B were higher.

  • The avatar gender, the basic element that constitutes the identity of the MMORPG player, can be created by the player due to the nature of the game through the system provided within the game. Thus, players exhibit a different attitude from reality regarding avatar gender. Gender customization in virtual space is an expansion of the identity in an effort to express one's identity in various ways. A number of users manage avatars with the opposite gender where it was found that male players preferred the female avatar persona. In this study, the player attitudes regarding gender was analyzed using Q methodology and the motivational factors for gender swapping and the generalization phenomenon was determined. This study will be significant as critical standards in the usability evaluation of the MMORPG customization system.

  • This study attempts to identify gender and age discrimination by individual lenders in P2P lending markets by analyzing empirical transaction data from multiple platforms including Moneyauction, Popfunding, and 8percent. To do this, the study investigates the effects and importance of a borrower's gender and age on individual lenders' preferences and a borrower's actual repayment performance using multiple linear regression and relative weight analyses. As a result, no gender discrimination is found in the three Korean P2P lending markets, and such indiscrimination is rational, on the grounds that the borrower's gender does not have a statistically significant impact on the lenders' preferences as well as his/her actual repayment performance, and its relative importance is minimal. While, there marginally exists age discrimination against a borrower in the markets, and such ageism is likely to be irrational, on the grounds that the borrower's age has a partly significant and minimally important impact on the lenders' preferences, but has no significant and important impact on his/her repayment performance. For the first time, these findings help to clarify gender and age discrimination issues in the P2P lending market by identifying the rationality of individual lenders' preferences to the borrower's gender and age in the Korea.

  • The objective of this paper is to explore how board gender diversity affects corporate sustainability performance. Therefore, this paper examines the direct association between board gender diversity with corporate sustainability performance and the mediation effect of enterprise risk management (ERM) on this association. The study employed a cross-sectional survey method. Data were collected from annual reports, websites, and through the questionnaires that were distributed to Chief Financial Officers (CFOs) of all the listed companies of Dhaka Stock Exchange, Bangladesh. The partial least square technique of Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) approach was employed for data analysis. The result did not find support for the direct association between board gender diversity and sustainability performance in Bangladesh context. This implies that contextual factors, such as, male-dominant board, appointment of female directors based on family ties, lack of education and expertise etc. may discount gender diversity direct influence on sustainability performance. However, the study finds strong support for the mediating role of ERM use within the corporate structure. Further analysis of indirect effect suggests that ERM use mediates the relationship of board gender diversity and sustainability performance in full. This implies that in the Bangladesh context effective use of ERM is highly recommended.

  • This study examined the gender differences' composition affecting poverty in Busan and possible strategies for overcoming poverty. It was found that there were both common and differentiating points regarding gender in poverty situations. Poverty stricken women, tended to be older and less educated than their male counterparts. In the case of men, they were more likely to have physical disabilities than women. There were more women compared to men when regarding divorce and separation due to the death of a spouse as contributing to poverty. Women estimated that it was much easier to overcome their poverty situation as they were younger and had more income. However, there were gender differences in regard to actual re-establishment. For men, education level was the most important variable for overcoming poverty while for women; the existence of a spouse was the important variable. These results suggest that a gender sensitive approach is necessary to address and find solutions to the poverty issue. Therefore, it is hoped that this study's findings may provide valuable information and support for changes to the welfare policy.

  • Recently, gender classification has attracted a great deal of attention in the field of video surveillance system. It can be useful in many applications such as detecting crimes for women and business intelligence. In this paper, we proposed a method which can detect pedestrians from CCTV video and classify the gender of the detected objects. So far, many algorithms have been proposed to classify people according the their gender. This paper presents a gender classification using convolutional neural network. The detection phase is performed by AdaBoost algorithm based on Haar-like features and LBP features. Classifier and detector is trained with data-sets generated form CCTV images. The experimental results of the proposed method is male matching rate of 89.9% and the results shows 90.7% of female videos. As results of simulations, it is shown that the proposed gender classification is better than conventional classification algorithm.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the mediate effect of gender on the differences of consumers grouped by the level of fashion interest. Data was collected from 280 men and women of their twentieth and analyzed using crosstab analysis, ANOVA, scheff'e test, x$^{2}$ test, and regression. The results are as follows. First, high interest groups showed little difference in the clothing shopping orientation and showed significant differences in the clothing purchasing behaviors(visiting store, time spent for shopping, and monthly clothing expenditure) between men and women. Second, low interest groups showed a lot of differences in both the clothing shopping orientation and the clothing purchasing behaviors between men and women. Third, several dimensions of clothing shopping orientation were more influenced from fashion interest level rather than the gender of consumers, and other several dimensions, visiting store, and the time spent for shopping were more influenced from gender rather than fashion interest level. These results imply that the gender of consumer has mediate effect on the behaviors of consumers grouped by the level of fashion interest, and the consumers of same fashion interest level must be approached concerning the gender of consumers.

  • The purpose of this study was to determine the gender differences in affecting factors of perceived stress level. The present study analyzed 2011 data of the Korea Community Health Survey and a total of 229,226 participants was included. To investigate the affecting factors of perceived stress, multiple logistic regression analyses were conducted. There were gender differences in affecting factors of perceived stress by education level, number of family members, household income, and self-care. This suggests that gender differences may exists between perceived stress level and health related quality of life. Further studies are necessary to investigate whether the cause of the gender differences in stress perception.

  • Purposes: The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between male nurse's gender stereotype, role conflict and organizational commitment. Methodology: Data were collected from 169 male hospital nurses from August, 2016 until September. The Male nurse's gender stereotype, role conflict and organizational commitment were measured using a structured questionnaire. Collected data were analyzed using SPSS/win 23.0 for windows. Descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA and Pearson's correlation were used. Findings: There were statistically significant differences in the gender stereotype by general characteristics such as age and military duty. There were statistically significant differences in the role conflict by general characteristics such as education level and position. There were statistically significant differences in the organizational commitment by general characteristics such as the hospital's location and hospital type. Gender stereotype and role conflict had no significant correlation (r=-0.050, p=.516). A statistically significant positive correlation was detected between male nurse's gender stereotype and 'continuance commitment' (r=0.272, p<.001). A statistically significant positive correlation was detected between male nurse's role conflict and 'continuance commitment' (r=0.178, p=.021). Practical implications: The result of this study indicate that to reduce role conflict of workplace environment and induce the affective commitment of male nurses within a female-centered nursing organization should be sought.
