  • This paper implements a RFID multi-band multi-protocol reader platform, possible to select one of the UHF bands used in particular for distribution system in RFID, that is, from 860MHz to 960MHz, through programmable configuration. It also enables implemented platform in this paper to recognize many kinds of TAG protocol, such as EPC Class 1 GEN 1, Class 1 Gen2, ISO 18000-6A, B and C.

  • Six new species of siphonostomatoid copepods are described from sponges collected in the Philippines and Vietnam. Two new genera of Asterocheridae, Andapontius and Holobinus, are proposed. The new species are Andapontius granulatus n. gen. n. sp., Holobinus angustus n. gen. n. sp. and Dermatomyzon boxshalli n. sp. in the family Asterocheridae and Entomopsyllus brevicaudatus n. sp., Paralepeopsyllus leei n. sp. and P. dambayensis n. sp. in the family Entomolepididae. Doropontius denticornis Thompson and Scott, 1903, is redescribed for the first time since its original record.

  • Twelve species of cyclopoid copepods, including two new genera and ten new species, associated with polychaetes are described from Korea. The new taxa comprise Petalocopus planus n. gen. n. sp. in the Clausidiidae, Rhodinicola exilis n. sp. in the Clausiidae, Gastrodelphys vadicola n. sp. in the Gastrodelphyidae, Polyankylis estivalis n. sp. in the Polyankyliidae, Pentakela cylindrica n. gen. n. sp., Pseudanthessius oporinus n. sp. and P. petilus n. sp. in the Pseudanthessiidae, and Myxomolgus buanensis n. sp., M. dokdoicus n. sp. and Serpuliphilus antennatus n. sp. in the Sabelliphilidae. As characteristic features of the new genera, Petalocopus n. gen. has a pair of pedunculate suckers on the terminal segment of the antenna and an enlarged posterodistal seta on the second segment of antennule, and Pentakela n. gen. has five strong hooks on distal segments of antenna, three-segmented exopod and two-segmented endopod in legs 1 and 2, and one-segmented exopod and a lobate, rudimentary endopod in legs 3 and 4. The male of Maxilliclausia propria Kim, 2014 of the Clausiidae is recorded for the first time. Nereicola ovata Keferstein, 1863 known previously only in European waters is redescribed based on a newly collected female specimen from Korea.

  • In this paper, we propose an improved anti-collision algorithm. We have designed an anti-collision unit using this algorithm for the 18000-6 Type C Class 1 Generation 2 standard (Gen2). The Gen2 standard uses a Q-algorithm for incremental method on the Dynamic Slot-Aloha algorithm. It has basically enhanced performance over the Slot-Aloha algorithm. Unfortunately, there are several non-clarified parts: initial $Q_{fp}$ value, weighted C, and the ending point of the algorithm. If an incorrect value is selected, it causes degradation in performance. Thus we propose an improved anti-collision algorithm by clearly defining the vague parts of the existing algorithm. Simulation results showed an improved performance of up to 34.8% using an optimized value of C and the initial $Q_{fp}$ value. With the ending condition, performance is 34.7%. The anti-collision unit is designed using the Verilog HDL. The module was synthesized using Synopsys' Design Compiler and the TSMC $0.2{\mu}m$ standard cell library. The synthesized result yielded 3,847 gates, and was guaranteed under the proposed working frequency of 19.2MHz.

  • Generic sentences assert generic properties of single individuals or those of plural individuals. It means the generic quantifier Gen can quantify over single and plural entities. Among the generic meaning information represented in terms of the tripartite structure, the information not in the nuclear scope part, but rather in the restrictor part is related to which individuals generic sentences assert of. The plurality in the nuclear scope part cannot be described by making the generic operator Gen quantify over plural entities: Generic sentences with collective predicates like gather, and those with dependent plurals predicate of generic properties of single individuals. On the contrary, the plural information in restrictor part leads Gen to quantify eve. plural entities.

  • Purpose: In this study we investigated improvement degree of reading ability of the student who was in a condition of dyslexia symptoms by wearing $ChromaGen^{TM}$ lenses. Methods: After wearing the $ChromaGen^{TM}$ lens for 3 months, the dyslexia symptoms corrective lens, 52 students who had suspected symptom of dyslexia were asked questions, and we measured the improvement degree of reading ability of the student. Results: The $ChromaGen^{TM}$ wearer read 110.26${\pm}$22.07 words in 1 minute, and naked yeses or glass wearing students read 106.42${\pm}$22.70 words. Reading ability of the student having suspected symptom of dyslexia were measured after wearing $ChromaGen^{TM}$ for 3 months. The results showed improvement reading ability of 3.70${\pm}$0.29 (p=0.01, t=2.26), 4.50%${\pm}$0.10 (p=0.01, t=2.78) for $ChromaGen^{TM}$ wearer with statistical difference. A survey on the satisfaction of reading improvement with wearing $ChromaGen^{TM}$ showed that 88.4% of questioned person answered wearing $ChromaGen^{TM}$ had improved their dyslexia symptoms. Conclusions: With statisical significance (p<0.05). this study suggests that $ChromaGen^{TM}$ lens has an effect on improving reading speed of dyslexia patient. We know from these results that the $ChromaGen^{TM}$ lens which is used to dyslexia had an effect to improvement of reading speed for dyslexia. And the results of this study is statistically different (p<0.05).

  • For the UHF EPC C1 Gen2 RFID system, to overcome the performance degradation in wireless channel environments, we proposed a modified tag structure which supports channel coding and its applied methodology. The reader consistently monitors the wireless channel status and sets to use channel coding functions for tags and reader only if wireless channel is corrupted. Compared with previous tag complexity, only negligible gates are needed to implement channel coding. By simulation we showed an obvious performance improvement of the identification reliability.
