  • In this paper, we developed an automated program for the modeling and manufacturing of three-dimensional roller gear cams. A computer program employing the theory of gearing and coordinate transformation is developed for synthesizing and animating cam mechanisms. A method using wire frame modeling and shading by triangular element is presented, and effectively used for modeling of example with reduced computation time. Then a module for generation NC program for a five-axis CMC machine to manufacture roller gear cam is established.

자동선반 기어박스의 진동방지 (Vibration Reduction or the Gear Box of an NC Machine)

  • This article proposes the analytical and experimental approaches for the reduction of vibration generated in the gear box of an NC machine. The lateral critical speed of main spindle and torsional natural frequencies were analyzed and the impact testing of gear box was performed. These results were compared with the forced operating speeds, The vibration was much diminished by redesign of gear module and reinforcement of box structure.

수상 자전거의 동력전달장치 설계 (Design of Power Transmission System of a Water Bike)

  • The power transmission system has always been considered critical for a human powered boat(or water bike) since it first showed up at Human Powered Vessel Festival. Mechanical problems, such as abrasions and other damages of the gear system for the power transmission, lead to poor durability and low efficiency of a boat. This paper described mechanical problems and a design process of power transmission system and then suggested the method to solve the problems. It is selected a module and a type of gears that are structurally stable thus can transmit the power durable. Especially the lower gear box is applied to CRP(contra rotating propeller) system for improving the structural stability and the propeller efficiency as well. As the results, the upper and lower gear box are designed and manufactured. And from the trial test, it is confirmed that the power transmission system is reliable.

  • In this paper, the automatic system generation algorithm based on the element combination algorithm discussed in the first part of this paper for designing an arbitrary type of the automatic transmissions is proposed. The powertrain design software using these algorithms is developed. This automotive powertrain design software with user-friendly graphic user interface has two main modules. The first module, the automatic power flow generation module, is already discussed in the previous paper. The second module dealing with the automatic system generation algorithm is discussed in this paper. The power-flow simulation software fur the arbitrary type of powertrain is then developed. The simulation and experimental results of the vehicle equipped with two planetary gear type automatic transmission are compared to validate the proposed algorithms and developed software. The simulation results demonstrate the good agreement with the experimental results.

헬리콥터 휠타입 착륙장치 충돌특성 연구 (Impact Dynamic Analysis for the Wheel-Type Landing Gear System of Helicopter)

  • In this study, the dynamic characteristics for the wheel-type landing gear system of helicopter have been analyzed. Nonlinear multi-body dynamic models of the landing gear system are constructed and the equations of motion, kinematics and internal forces of shock strut are considered. In addition, flexibility effect of the wheel axle with equivalent beam element is taken into account. General purpose commercial finite code, SAMCEF which includes MECANO module is applied. The results of dynamic simulation for various landing and weight conditions are presented and compared with each other. Based on the results, characteristics of impact dynamic behaviors of the landing gear system are practically investigated.

Auto_LISP을 이용한 기어설계 프로그램 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Development of the Gear Design Program by using Auto_LISP)

  • Gear design carried in former type determined a few variables like module, pressure angle, helix angle. After investigating repeatedly results obtained through stress analysis and making a determination an optimal shape, but its design process was not only complex but also difficult to get a precise profile curve from operating by hand. In this study, rotating shape of gear profile curves were generated automatically with standard spur gear, equivalent helical gear, shifted gear & pinion by using developed program which is Auto_LISP language supported in Auto-CAD. Output tooth profile by using CAE program is applied as Preprocessor for stress analysis in each contact points. This program which can be determined rapidly an optimal shape of gear will be successfully supported for Small & Medium companies designing and manufacturing gears by using Auto-CAD.

  • The composite planetary gear reducer, a power transmission component of armored vehicles, operates at a high torque and is used in severe environments such as mountain, gravel or unpaved roads. Therefore, they must be designed and manufactured to have high durability. To design such a planetary gear reducer, there are numerous specifications to validate, such as selecting the module and the number of teeth of each gear satisfied the requirements, and calculating gear specifications and durability strength. Because planetary gears constitute a combination of several gears, there are many restrictions and interferences in selecting the number of teeth and addendum modification coefficients, and designing the tooth shape. Developing an auto design program is necessary to design various planetary gears more conveniently and quickly. In this study, a planetary gear reducer design software, widely used in various machines and armored vehicles, was developed. This design software can automatically select the number of teeth and modules of the gears, calculate specifications and quickly evaluate its fatigue durability strength and scoring failure according to the planetary gear reducer design theory.

  • Various adjustment devices which present automobile uses electric motion motor of reducer built-in type for user's convenience are increasing. The example are seat control motor, sunroof motor, power windows motor etc. To get low noise, high effectiveness special quality in automobile DC motor of reducer built-in type, reducer department's transmission efficiency and noise, vibration quality are very important. The reducer used to DC motor of automobile reducer built-in type use worm gear for enough torque and proper number of rotation. We need optimization design technology of deceleration module including worm gear and housing for reducer development that have special quality of good quality.

  • 본 논문에서는 인벌류우트와 원고치형의 단점을 보완하고 양자의 장점을 취한 치형을 얻기위하여 피치점 부근에서는 인벌류우트치형으로 이끝부분에서는 원호로 하 고 이뿌리부분에서는 상대방 기어의 원호부분과 맞물릴 수 있는 곡선으로 하는 치형을 합성하고, 이 합성치형의 유효치형을 가공할 수 있는 랙치형을 이론적인 방법으로 구 하였다. 그리고, 이 합성치형의 유효치형에 대한 이끝과 이뿌리 두께의 변화와 물림 률을 검토하였다.
