Precipitation rate with optimal weighting method of remote sensed and rain gauge data

  • There are two datasets to estimate the area-mean and time-mean precipitation rate. For one, an array of surface rain gauges represents a series of rods that have to the time axis of the volume. And another data is that of a remote sensing make periodic overpasses at a fixed interval such as radar. The problem of optimally combining data from surface rain gauge data and remote sensed data is considered. In order to combining remote sensed data with Automatic Weather Station (AWS), we use optimal weighting method, which is similar to the method of [2]. They had suggested optimal weights that minimized value of the mean square error. In this paper, optimal weight is evaluated for the cases such as Changma, summer Monsoon, Typhoon and orographic rain.

정밀 강설량계 개발을 위한 연구 (A Study on the Development of a High Resolution Snow Gauge)

  • 본 연구에서 고안 설계한 적설 관측용 수위 센서는 야외에서 일 변화량은 0.1 mm 내외의 적은 양의 오차를 기록하여 강설관측 센서로 적합한 것으로 판명되었으며, 실내 검정 결과 기상청에서 요구하고 100 mm의 강수 검정범위에 대해서 1%이하의 신뢰성 있는 검정결과를 나타내어 강설량 관측에 적합한 것으로 판명되었다. 또한 $-20^{\circ}C$의 테스트에서도 0.1 mm에 해당하는 아주 작은 변화 값을 타나내어 겨울철 야외환경에도 적합한 것으로 판명되었다. 깔때기가 없으며 수수구의 크기에 제한을 받지 않는 새로운 강수 관측구조는 적은 양의 강설관측이 가능하여 겨울철 예보에 필요한 레이다. 영상과 위성 영상에 의한 강설 연구와 해석에 많은 도움을 줄 수 있을 것이다. 또한 적설상당수량 관측이 가능하여 수자원 분야의 연구에도 많은 도움이 될 수 있다. 부동액을 사용하므로 고체 상태의 강설에 대해서 직접 관측이 가능하여 강설 관측에 있어 문제점으로 지적이 되고 있는 신적설 관측의 어려움을 해결할 수 있으며, 추후 야외 관측용 모델을 제작하여 야외 환경에서 여타 장비들과 비교 실험을 통해서 성능을 검정하고 개선할 계획이다.

악교정 수술을 위한 석고모형 수술시의 계측오차 (THE ACCURACY OF MEASUREMENTS DURING MODEL SURGERY FOR ORTHOGNATHIC PLANNING)

  • The errors in orthognathic surgery can occur during the preoperative preparations including the model surgery, but till now there's been some lack of reserches about them. So we wanted to verify the accuracies in measurements used in model surgery. We compared the accuracy of measurements by vernier calipers, which has been the main measurement tool for conventional model surgery, and that by height gauge, which is recently claimed to be more accurate, with 3 dimensional coordinate analyzer. We could have following results and have a plan to use them for the invention of new model surgery techniques. 1. The measurement errors in Group 1, which mean the difference between "the measurements by 3-D analyzer"and "the measurements by height gauge", were small enough with the range of $0.1{\sim}0.2mm$ in all planes. 2. The mean error in Group 2, which is the differences between the measurements of 3-D analyzer and those of vernier calipers, was 1.1mm. 3. The measurement errors in Group 2 were variable according to the factors including the differences of individuality and expertness of each measurers. But in case of Group 1, they were small and not variable by the expertness. 4. The measurements were more accurate at the points in anterior teeth than in molar teeth in Group 1 and 2. 5. The errors after model surgery increased remarkably, compared with those before surgery in Group 2. And the situation was different in Group 1 in that errors decreased after surgery. According to these results, it assumed that the measurements with height gauge during the model surgery for orthognathic surgery are accurate enough and can be maintained, regardless of complexity of models, individuality, or expertness of measurers.

Development of standard calibration equipment for the rain gauges

  • Because the rain gauges of tipping bucket type can easily use the digital signal, the rain gauges are widely used for the meteorological observation. In general, the resolution of rain gauges of tipping bucket type can be categorized by the 0.1mm, 0.5mm, and 1.0mm classes. But, the error of the tipping bucket rain gauges is made by the intensity of rainfalls and is expected to make the standard calibration method for error measurement. Thus, we developed the hardware of standard calibration facility for rain gauges by weighting measurement method and proposed the standard procedure by rainfall intensity in this study Also, we calculated the error for the rainfall intensity and obtained useful result through the proposed calibration method.

마이크로 패터닝 가공을 위한 공구 정렬에 관한 연구 (Sharp Edge Tool Alignment for Micro Pattern Machining)

  • This paper presents a geometrical error compensation of tool alignment for sharp edge bite on B axis controlled machine. In precision micro patterning, bite alignment is crucial parameter for machined surface. To decrease bite alignment error, plus tilted bite from B axis center is touched to reference work piece(pin gauge) and checked the deviation from original position. Same process is repeated for maximum touch deviation value. From this touched position value, wheel alignment error in X axis and Z axis can be calculated on B axis center. Experimental results show that this compensation method is efficient to correct sharp edge bite alignment.

IMM-based INS/EM-Log Integrated Underwater Navigation with Sea Current Estimation Function

  • Underwater vehicles use Inertial Navigation System (INS) with high-performance Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) for high precision navigation. However, when underwater navigation is performed for a long time, the INS error gradually diverges, therefore, an integrated navigation method using auxiliary sensors is used to solve this problem. In terms of underwater vehicles, the vertical axis error is primarily compensated through Vertical Channel Damping (VCD) using a depth gauge, and an integrated navigation filter can be designed to perform horizontal axis error and sensor error correction using a speedometer such as Electromagnetic-Log (EM-Log). However, since EM-Log outputs the forward direction relative speed of the vehicle with respect to the sea and sea current, INS correction filter using this may cause a rather large error. Although it is possible to design proper filters if the exact model of the sea current is known, it is impossible to know the accurate model in reality. Therefore, this study proposes an INS/EM-Log integrated navigation filter with the function to estimate sea current using an Interacting Multiple Model (IMM) filters, and the performance of this filter is analyzed through a simulation performed in various environments.

강수의 계절성과 면적평균강수량의 추정오차 (Rainfall Seasonality and Estimation Errors of Area-Average Rainfall)

  • 본 연구에서는 강수의 계절성에 따라 면적평균강수의 추정오차가 어떻게 달라지는지를 평가하였다. 공간상관을 고려하는 경우와 고려하지 않는 경우 모두를 다루었으며, 각각의 경우에 대해 추정오차의 변화를 살펴보았다. 유사한 경우로서 계절성을 무시하고 누가시간을 증가시켜 추정오차가 어떻게 변하는지도 살펴보았다. 본 연구는 금강유역에 적용하였으며 30년 이상의 일 강수 기록을 가진 28개 지점의 자료를 이용하였다. 본 연구의 결과를 정리하면 다음과 같다: (1) 월 단위의 면적평균강수량에 대한 추정오차는 대체로 강수량에 비례하여 나타나며, 따라서 강한 계절성을 나타낸다. 그러나 이를 평균 강수량으로 나눈 상대오차는 1월과 12월을 제외하면 대략 5 - 8% 정도로 유사한 값을 보인다. (2) 연 강수량에 대한 추정오차는 연강수량의 3% 정도인 것으로 나타났다. (3) 그러나, 강수량이 아닌 강수량의 표준편차를 기준으로 삼는 경우 면적평균강우의 추정오차는 월 단위 및 년 단위에서 동일하게 표준편차의 11% 정도로 계산된다. (4) 마지막으로, 공간상관을 고려하지 않는 경우의 추정오차는 고려하는 경우의 2배 정도까지 커짐을 확인할 수 있었다.

뇌졸중환자 보행보조로봇의 무릎관절 토크측정을 위한 토크센서 개발 (Development of Torque Sensor for Measurement of Knee Joint Torque of Walking Assist Robot in Stroke Patients)

  • In this paper, a torque sensor is designed and fabricated to measure the knee joint torque of a walking assist robot for stroke patients. The torque sensor sensing part was modeled on the link of the part connected to the knee joint motor. The torque capacity of the knee joint was calculated by simulation and the size of the torque sensor sensing part was designed using the finite element method. The torque sensor was fabricated by attaching a strain gauge to the sensing part. Characteristic experiments were conducted to characterize the torque sensor, and the torque sensor was calibrated to utilize it for the control of the walking assist robot. As a result of the characteristics test, the reproducibility error and the nonlinearity error of the torque sensor were 0.03% and 0.04%, respectively. Therefore, it is considered that the developed torque sensor can be used to measure the torque applied to the knee joint when walking on a walking assist robot.

공작기계 직선 베어링 안내면의 정도 설계에 관한 연구 (The Accuracy Design of LM Guide System in Machine Tools)

  • This paper is concerned with Accuracy Design of LM Guide System in Machine Tools. Elastic deformation of bearing is calculated by Hertz contact theory and motion error of LM block is analyzed. A new algorithm using block stiffness is proposed fur the analysis of motion accuracy of the table. The best advantage of this algorithm is fast analysis speed because it isn't necessary iteration processes for satisfying equilibrium equation of the table. Motion errors of the table analyzed under artificial form error of rail theoretically and experimentally. Only one of two rails is bent by putting a thickness gauge into horizontal direction. This form error of rail is measured by gap sensor against the other rail. Then, motion errors of the table are predicted by proposed new algorithm theoretically and measured by laser interferometer. Measurements are carried out by changing the preload and thickness. The results show that the table motion errors are reduced from 1/2 to 1/60 times than form error of rail according to its height and width. And the effect of preloading is almost negligible.

  • This paper presents the performance and problems in analysis method and testing system of Electronic Speckle Pattern Interferometry (ESPI) method, in measuring two-dimensional in-plane displacement. The anyalysis result of measurement by ESPI is quite comparable to that of measurement by strain gauge method. This implieds that the method of ESPI is a very effective tool in non-contact two-dimensional in-planc strain analysis. But there is a controversal point,measurment error. This error is discussed to be affected not by ESPI method itseif, but by its analysis scheme of the interference fringe,where the first-order interpolation has been applied to the points of strain measured. In this case, it is turned out that the more errors would be occured in the large interval of fringe. so, this paper describes a computer method for drawing when the height is available only for some arbitary collection of points, the method is based on a distance-weighted, least-squares approximation technique, with the weight varying with the distance of the data points.
