The Pattern Recognition Methods for Emotion Recognition with Speech Signal (음성신호를 이용한 감성인식에서의 패턴인식 방법)

  • In this paper, we apply several pattern recognition algorithms to emotion recognition system with speech signal and compare the results. Firstly, we need emotional speech databases. Also, speech features for emotion recognition is determined on the database analysis step. Secondly, recognition algorithms are applied to these speech features. The algorithms we try are artificial neural network, Bayesian learning, Principal Component Analysis, LBG algorithm. Thereafter, the performance gap of these methods is presented on the experiment result section. Truly, emotion recognition technique is not mature. That is, the emotion feature selection, relevant classification method selection, all these problems are disputable. So, we wish this paper to be a reference for the disputes.

  • The Advanced Safety Vehicle (ASV) allows drivers not only convenience and safety, but also many useful services provided by the Telematics technology. Since ASV is expected to be widely used in the near future, it is necessary to ensure the safety of ASV systems. Among several aspects of ASV, this paper investigates the safety of the Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) system. Field tests are carried out under the domestic roadway and traffic conditions, according to International Standard Organization (ISO) requirements for ACC. The test data are analyzed whether the requirements are adequate for domestic circumstances, and the suggestions for findings are given.

  • In one VTR(Video Tape Recorder), two or more heads are used to record or reproduce video signals. To obtain a uniform quality of a VTR, video heads should have similar charcteristics such as geometrical shapes and electro-magnetic performances. This research is aimed to develop a visual inspection system that can measure four geoemtrical parameters;HO, HI, Tw and Cw. To obtain a high realable results, DSP based image board and target based image processing algorithms were used. A series of experiments was performed for one thousands of video heads. From observation of the experimental results, the system is found to show good performance for inspection of video heads.

  • In this paper, an automatic pipe-cutting machine that uses magnet to attach itself to pipe and performs unmanned cutting process is proposed. The machine uses magnetic force to prevent slip and to attach the machine to the pipe against gravity. The magnetic force is adjustable by changing the gap between the magnet and the pipe. During pipe cutting process, the gravity acting on the pipe-cutting machine widely varies nonlinearly where the gravity is function of climbing angle of the cutting machine along the pipe.   • We propose an off-line methodology for detecting a faulty backup roll that generates eccentricity components, under the condition that the feeding velocity, equivalently the angular velocity of roll, is not constant. From a newly devised speed angle conversion algorithm, we transform all process data into those of a virtual process under a constant feeding speed. This indirectly way, we can apply a spectral analysis to the original process. In addition, we develop an online detection method of roll eccentricity based on newly designed PLG sensor. This PLG sensor is robust because of applying magnetic proximity sensnors and non-contact measurement method.

  • This paper presents investigation of an arc force sensor for a robotic welding control system. Arc force sensor is employed in this research to monitor the bead geometry of the arc welding process. Arc force sensor mounted at the end of the robot wrist was employed to measure the arc force applied to the weld. Experimental configuration for measurement of arc force was used to quantify the changes in the arc force distributions of the plate being welded. A relationship between the bead dimension and the arc force distributions was established. The sensor information was used to establish a relationship between welding current and arc force. Arc force sensor have shown to be one of the most sophisticated technique to monitor perturbations that occurred during robotic arc welding process.

  • In the hot rolling process, the RF AGC (Roll Force Auto Gauge Control) is used to control the roll gap to reduce the variation of rolling force caused by the roll eccentricity and the variation of material thickness. However the effect of the roll eccentricity cannot be distinguished. To eliminate the effect of the roll eccentricity, the roll eccentricity estimation is needed to supplement some drawbacks of RF AGC. In this paper, an ALE(Adaptive Line Enhancer) that extracts the rolling force variation due to the roll eccentricity is suggested. We also provide an algorithm that enhances the convergence time of roll eccentricity estimation. The performance improvement of the Suggested algorithm is shown via simulations.

  • For the weld quality improvement and the convenient operation of machines, laser vision system can be used to track weld seams on pressure vessels. There are many bad conditions to the weld grooves such as cutting error, gap variation of weld joint, and offset error of center line caused by misalignment.
