  • 산업화에 따라 각종 산업분야에서 유기 용제의 사용이 증가하게 되었고 대기오염, 수질오염 등의 상태가 심각해져가고 있는 실정이다 그러나 다양해진 오염물질을 처리하는 데 있어서 기존의 산화처리방법은 한계에 달하였고 새로운 처리공정으로 최근 고급산화법(AOP : Advanced Oxidation Process)에 대한 연구가 활발하게 진행되고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 대기환경 및 인체에 심각한 영향을 주는 VOCs(Voletail Organic compounds)중 BTEX(Benzene, Toluene, Ethylbenzene, Xylene)를 다양한 형태의 광촉매제를 이용하여 기상 광분해한 후 이에 대한 최적의 분해 조건과 분해율을 비교하고자 하였다. 순환식의 자체 제작한 기상광반응장치를 이용하여, CVD법으로 TiO$_2$ 입자를 알루미나 비드위에 코팅한 볼과 같은 방법으로 유리기판위에 코팅한 판상의 광촉매제 그리고 결정성이 각기 다른 루틸상과 아나타제 그리고 아나타제/루틸 혼합상의 TiO$_2$ 분말을 직접 이용하여 VOCs 농도와 종류, 광원의 종류 및 세기를 변화시켜 PID(Photo ionization Detector)방식의 순환식 VOCs 측정기를 이용하여 광분해율을 실시간으로 측정하였다.

  • ZnO Varistor is an electronic ceramic device to absorb the surge voltage from low voltage to high. To investigate the puncture mechanism occurring in NnO varistor, the Voronoi simulation for formulating the relation between the applied voltage and the increase of the temperature inside grain is applied. The Voronoi network can realize the structure of the practical varistor better than the established simple network. Using the current through each grain and the voltage applied to the grain, Joule heating energy is calculated and the phenomenon that the puncture occurs can be analyzed quantitatively by simulating the electric and thermal characteristics according to the externally applied pulsed voltage.

  • This paper presents the design of a night vision system for vessels. Both a hardware system and software modules for stabilization control are developed. In order to stabilize each control axis, the two-degree of freedom(TDF) PID controller is designed and its parameters are tuned using a real-coded genetic algorithm(RCGA). Simulation demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed system.

  • 복잡 다양한 해상교통 환경 재현을 목적으로 에이전트 모델 기반의 시뮬레이션 개발 연구가 진행 중이며, 에이전트 모델 기반 시뮬레이션 연구는 과거 해상 교통 데이터를 이용한 제한적인 분석이 아니라, 에이전트 모델 간 상호 연동을 통해 해상교통환경을 재현할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 디지털 트윈 분야에서 적용하고 있는 기능 목업 인터페이스(FMI) 기반으로 연동기술 프로토타입을 개발 하였다. 에이전트 모델 간 연동을 위해 FMU를 제작하고, 오픈 소스 기반의 DACCOSIM을 적용하여 FMU 간 연동 및 시뮬레이션이 가능한 기술을 확보하였다. 교통특성, 선박항해, 항해사, 관제사, 연동, 수로환경으로 구성되는 해상교통 에이전트 간 정보 연계 및 결과 표현에 관한 프로토타입 개발 연구를 수행 하였다.

  • Tetra(4-carboxyphenyl)porphine(TCPP) 흡착으로부터 그래핀 표면의 기능화에 대하여 방사광을 이용한 광전자 분광법으로 연구하였다. 최근 들어 그래핀을 이용한 소자개발에 있어서 그래핀의 우수한 전기적 특성을 저해하지 않으며 그 표면의 화학적 활성도를 개선하고자 하는 필요성이 대두되고 있다. 따라서 기능성 작용기를 가지고 있는 유기반도체 물질을 이용하여 그래핀 표면의 화학적 활성화를 촉진시킴과 동시에 보호층을 형성시키고자 하는 연구가 보고되고 있다. 그러나 일반적으로 그 유기분자들이 그래핀 표면에 흡착되었을 때 전하의 이동을 유도함으로서 원래 그래핀의 물리적 특성을 변화시킬 가능성을 가지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 6H-SiC 표면 위에 두층으로 에피텍셜 성장된 그래핀에 TCPP 분자를 흡착시킴으로서 그래핀의 고유 특성을 거의 저해하지 않음과 동시에 기능성 작용기의 역할을 충실히 수행할 수 있음을 보여 주고 있다. 이는 valence band dispersion과 일함수 변화 측정으로 관찰할 수 있었다. 또한 TMA를 이용한 TCPP의 수산화 작용기의 반응 과정은 일반적인 실리콘 산화막에 적용했을 때 일어나는 화학적 반응 과정과 다른 메커니즘으로 진행됨을 관찰하였다.

  • This paper presents the tracking and stabilization problem of a night vision system for marine surveillance. Both a hardware system and software modules are developed to control azimuth and elevation axes independently with compensation for ship motion. A two degree of freedom(2DOF) PID controller is designed and its parameters are tuned using a real-coded genetic algorithm(RCGA). Simulation demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Helicobacter pylori Urease May Exist in Two Forms: Evidence from the Kinetic Studies

  • Purified Helicobacter pylori urease displayed a sigmoid curve in the plot of velocity versus [S] at urea concentrations less than 0.1mM. Under conditions where preservatives, glycerol, or polyethylene glycol (PEG) were added to the enzyme reaction, the substrate hydrolysis was consistent with Michaelis-Menten kinetics, with a $K_m$ of $0.21\;{\pm}\;0.06\;mM$ and a $V_{max}$ of $1,200\;{\pm}\;300\;{\mu}mol\;min^{-1}\;mg^{-1}$. However, at saturating substrate concentrations, the kinetic parameters of H. pylori urease were unaffected by the presence of the preservatives, and enzyme catalysis conformed to Michaelis-Menten kinetics. The Hill coefficients of the enzyme-catalyzed urea hydrolysis in the presence and absence of PEG were 1 and 2, respectively. Based on these findings, we suggest that H. pylori urease may exist in aggregated and dissociated forms, each with intact function but differing kinetics that may be of importance in maximizing urea breakdown at varying urea concentrations in vivo.

RCGA-Based Tuning of the 2DOF PID Controller (2자유도 PID 제어기의 RCGA기반 동조)

  • The conventional PID controller has been widely employed in industry. However, the PID controller with one degree of freedom(DOF) can not optimize both set-point tracking response and disturbance rejection response at the same time. In order to solve this problem, a few types of 2DOF PID controllers have been suggested. In this paper, a tuning formula for a 2DOF PID controller is presented. The optimal parameter sets of the 2DOF PID controller are determined based on the first-order plus time delay process and a real-coded genetic algorithm(RCGA) such that the ITAE performance criterion is minimized. The tuning rule is then addressed using calculated parameter sets and another RCGA. A set of simulation works are carried out on three processes with time delay to verify the effectiveness of the proposed rule.

Effect of 1-[(2-Hydroxyethoxy)methyl]-6-(phenylthio)thymine (HEPT) Derivatives on Bacterial Growth

  • 6-Substituted derivatives of 1-[(2-hydroxyethoxy)methyl]-6-(phenylthio)thymine (HEPT) were synthesized by introducing alkyl groups with the aid of chlorotrimethylsilane, and then purified ranging 40 to 81 % of yield. Because of their peculiar structures, we presumed that HEPT derivatives would contain extra biological activities other than their already known anti-human immunodeficiency viral (HIV -1) activities. In this study, we investigated the possible effects of the HEPT derivatives on bacterial growth and found their selective antibiotic activities against gram-positive strains. We could not observe the corresponding activity from a disc-zone test, but confirmed the activity by liquid cultivation. Since the growth rate of cells was easily recovered, the antibiotic function was suggested to be bacteriostatic. We also suggested that the intracellular fate of HEPT derivatives would be fast. A HEPT derivative f-3 was shown to synergize unidirectionally toward chloramphenicol (Chr). With 0.1 mM f-3, the Chr-directed growth-inhibitory curve appeared 4 hours earlier than found without the additive. Interestingly, from the data of SDS-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (PAGE), we found that a membrane-bound protein having a molecular weight of 70-kDa was overexpressed by f-3 in S. aureus.
