At present, educational serious games which are designed for educational purpose including funny element have been developed in korea. This paper proposes a history educational game and describes how to make history educational game using OGRE engine. The OGRE engine is public, and widely used in many universities. Methods of the proposed game's development include development environment, desired plan, game scenario, game interface, method to cooperate with physics engine and so on. The proposed game is played in performing a mission that is based on historical event of our country in itself. And discrimination of the proposed game is to set a quest with actual historical events, in order to learn history beyond the simple fun in the existing history educational games. This paper should be helpful to discrimination of history educational serious game and developers to create history educational serious game with OGRE engine.

In this paper, we analyze the immersion effects according to the level of map in adventure game. Computer games are actively enjoyed by many people around the world. Game players have frequently experienced the immersion which is an important aspect to be attained from games. However, it is not clear what immersion is and what kinds of factors influence to immersion. Nonetheless, in recent many researches, the elements of humanities and fun were found as factors of immersion in various digital contents such as game, virtual reality, cinema and etc. Therefore, today's games are developed on the basis of the humanities and fun theory that many researchers have been studied for a long time. In games, the balance of the level of map is related with immersion. Hence, it is important to know how the map patterns of game affect immersion of players. In this paper, we developed a 3D survival adventure game named by "1 Hour" using Unity3D in order to simulate how map patterns affect immersion of players. We also analyzed the relationship between the level of map and immersion using the game.
In this note, we propose a game system to fairly and transparently control and update game variables using blockchain. As an example, we present an Ethereum-based maze escape game, being the first blockchain-based maze game and the first attempt to control game level through blockchain. In this system, the level function computes maze level reflecting the amount of maze walls purchased/sold by users. Using blockchain for game management saves human and economic resources and prevents unfair practice of game developers unilaterally manipulating game level or item enhancement rate.

A smart robot game, which is one of the new type expanding the market through coding education classes recently, has a characteristic to manipulate digital games with a smart-phone while using a robot instead of existing games. Under the same rules, the virtual world's game is connected to real world's robot through a smart-phone, and the game is played while exchanging data. This study analyzes smart robot game by dividing them into media features, digital game features, and playful features. In addition, we developed the game based on the board game genre that has the general rules while using the derived development features. As a result, by presenting the case of development of smart robot board game, we would like to propose the points to be considered in the development of smart robot game.
Computer game is a result of integration of various academic areas, and the production of computer game requires knowledge and experience from various areas. This study demonstrates a game production process using Scratch. The intent was to experience the game development process and the production principle through actually building the core functions of a game using Scratch. As such, the computer game production principle was understood and it was made possible to learn more easily and more enjoyably the functions of multimedia and programming necessary for the production process. As the result, the learning of game production principles using Scratch was found to enhance the interest of the learner, and help with the understanding of game structure and learning software/programming language.
The purpose of this research is to provide the rationality of placement of game objects using the space analysis for game map so that the game designers can find out the proper position for each object in the map. The significance of this research is beyond the limitations of the existing research using Space Syntax theory is confined to the analysis of the behavior of players in the map, this research suggest the method of the efficient placement of game objects in level design step. This paper as the worth of the industry is expected to be able to reduce the repetitive tasks that may occur during game level design steps. Through this, it is also expected by reducing game development period and development costs in accordance with the reasonable placement of game objects.
This paper is about a serious game controlled by EEG and motion capture. We developed our game for 2 users competitive and its method is as follows. One player uses a controlling interface using EEG signals based on the premise that the player's facial movements are a depiction of the player's emotion and intensity throughout the game play. The other player uses a controlling interface using kinect's motion capture technology which captures the player's vertical and lateral movements as well as state of running. The game shows the first player's EEG as a real-time graphic along the map on the game screen. The player will then be able to pace himself based on these visualization graphics of his brain activities. This results in higher concentration for the player throughout the game for a better score in the game. In addition, the second player will be able to improve his physical abilities since the game action is based on real movements from the player.

In this study, we develop a teaching and learning model for elementary students on game programming using KODU. The developed model consists of four steps: introducing the game programming, making the game, playing the game, and modifying the game. After teaching the students, we conduct a survey to gather their opinions on the game making tool and activities. The results show that the students are satisfied with KODU and prefer make a game to play a game. Game programming educating with KODU can keep elementary students from game addiction while increasing confidence in their studies.
In football simulation games, it is very important for the interest of the game to make the stats of the football players close to reality. As the management concept is introduced to the sports simulation game, when the user plays the game for a long time, the existing player character retires. Therefore, the game creates the environment of the game by creating a new player in the game. In this study, we propose a method to create a new player character by using genetic algorithm to have the optimal ability similar to existing players. We compare and evaluate the player character with the existing random generation method, the correction random method and the proposed algorithm, and verify the validity of the proposed method.
The difficulty of the game is closely related to the fun of the game. However, it is not easy to determine the appropriate level of difficulty of the game. In most cases, human playtesting is required. But even so, it is still hard to quantitatively evaluate difficulty of the game. Thus, if we perform quantitative evaluation of the difficulty automatically it will be very helpful in game developments. In this paper, we use a path finding algorithm to evaluate difficulty of exploration in a game level. Exploration is a basic attribute in common video games and it represents the overall difficulty of the game level. We also optimize the proposed evaluation algorithm by using previous exploration histories when available area in an game level is dynamically expanded and the new search is required.
