  • On this study, we researched differences between 2D and 3D with principle of GUI with the estimate that the user interface will be changed to 3D and we figured out the special feature of 3d-GUI through 3 ways, Autonomy, Interaction and Presence. Based on this theory research, we also had a survey with difference of 3d and 2d GUI to forecast the possibility of 3d-GUI for the main user interface of the future media contents and finally found out its marketability as an ideal interface.

  • GUI(Graphic User Interface) have an influence on end-user environments in information system. Consistency is one of the most important GUI characteristics. Consistency should apply across the different media which form the total user interface. User can get a lot of benefits through consistency. To achieve consistency of the total interface, the interface standards are very important. The goals of this study is to suggest GUI's development guidelines through analysis of real fields using ERP package in a electric assembly line. The guidelines fall into four functions: inquiry, registration, modification, deletion. The guidelines can be used for better system development later and as verification tool in GUI development.

  • Graphical user interface testing (GUI testing) techniques have been widely used to test the functionality of Android applications (apps) and to detect faults for verification of the reliability and usability of apps. To adequately test the behaviors of apps, a number of studies on model-based GUI testing techniques have been performed on Android apps. However, the effectiveness of model-based techniques greatly depends on the quality of the GUI model, because model-based GUI testing techniques generate test inputs based on this model. Therefore, in order to improve testing effectiveness in model-based techniques, accurate and efficient GUI model generation has to be achieved using an improved model generation technique with concrete definition of GUI states. For accurate and efficient generation of a GUI model and test inputs, this study suggests a hierarchical GUI state comparison technique and evaluates this technique through comparison with the existing model-based techniques, considering activities as GUI states. Our results show that the proposed technique outperforms existing approaches and has the potential to improve the performance of model-based GUI testing techniques for Android apps.

  • As computers have became popular and multimedia and internet are frequently used, the volume and exchange of information have explosively increased. Therefore, more organized information system is needed for a more efficient use of information. For this reason, the importance of information design and interface design is highly recognized. This thesis is to present the user-oriented interface design prototype based on the environmental analysis of the user and information design. For this purpose, the theoretical study of information design and the principle and elements of GUI (Graphic User Interface) design is preceded. Information design is to subdivide and organize information according to its characteristic, and to systemize information structure considering the interrelationship of information. GUI design, that is interface design based on graphics, should be made in consideration of GUI elements and principle for the user's easy access of information. As it is said, much information needs to be structurized systematically and also visualized as the interface design esthetically as well as functionally. In conclusion, this study presents the effectual user-oriented interface design prototype by researching many theories of information design and GUI design and applying such theories to GUI design.

  • 이 논문에서는 상황에 적합한 정보들을 선택하고 이를 해당되는 GUI (Graphic User Interface) 객체를 통해 사용자에게 제시하기 위한 규칙 기반의 지능적 사용적 인터페이스 구조를 제안하고, 이를 이용하여 실제로 군사 분야 정보 융합 시스템의 그래픽 사용자 인터페이스를 개발하였다. 군사분야와 같이 복잡하고 급변하는 상황에서는 상황에 따라 필요한 정보가 다를 뿐만 아니라, 불필요한 정보의 제시로 인해 오히려 사용자의 판단에 혼란을 초래할 수 있다. 이 논문에서는 이러한 점을 고려하여, 제시할 정보와 GUI 객체의 적절한 대응뿐만 아니라, 상황에 따라 사용자에게 필요한 정보를 해당분야의 전문가로부터 획득한 규칙에 의해 선택적으로 제시하도록 하기 위한 GUI 구조를 제안하였다. 개발한 GUI의 구조는 입력 해석, 제시할 정보의 선택, GUI 객체의 선택, GUI객체의 생성 및 속성 기정, GUI 객체의 배치 및 출력 단계들로 구성되며, 각각의 단계는 규칙에 의해 처리된다. 제안된 구조에 의해 공중 작전 수립을 위한 정보 융합 시스템의 사용자 인터페이스를 개발한 결과, 다양한 매체를 통해 많은 데이터가 들어오는 상황에서 필요한 정보만을 선택하여 적절히 제시해 줌으로써 사용자의 신속한 상황 판단과 결정 수립을 지원할 수 있었다.

  • Due to the recent surge of wireless Internet and concurrent development of the end user terminal devices having standardized graphical user interface(GUI) and unified operation mechanism for better interactivity in information representation and ease of use, various efforts on the improvement of GUI is widely recognized as one of the key factors that will usher in the next stages of the wireless Internet for the users. Especially, improved usability along with unique visual effect are considered to be the key elements for GUI considering the rapid improvement of the resolution and color on the end user handset devices; thus, the study and research on the subject of GUI is expected to increase along with the wireless Internet using smart phones. User interface of the wires Internet end user handsets will have a definite and significant effect on the user interaction as well as productivity. Domestically, wireless Internet service providers and GUI design companies are making various efforts in producing a common GUI models for standardized operation scheme and improved graphical display capabilities of the hand phones, PDAs and smart phones. In the study, Nokia 3650 model and Microsoft Orange SPV model were chosen as test devices for usability comparison and data collection to collect directional benchmark data in developing next generation smart phone user interface integrating PDAs and phones. The mail purpose of this study is to achieve the most efficient user accessibility to WAP menu through intensive focus on developing WIPI WAP menu having most effective usability for the users in their twenties and thirties. The result of this study can also be used as the base research materials for WAP service development, VM browser development and PDA browser development. The result of this study along with the evaluation model is expected to provide effective analysis materials on the subject of user interface to the developers of the wireless Internet user devices, GUI designers and service planners while short listing key factors to consider in developing smart phones therefore serving as the GUI guideline of WIPI phones.

  • JVM(Java Virtual Machine) has GUI(Graphical User Interface) facility and Platform Independance and is used on the embedded device such as set-top box and smart phone. This needs JVM to execute Java application in the embedded device. CVM(Classic Virtual Machine) which is the kind of JVM is designed for embedded device to have limited resources. To support GUI facility of JAVA uses PBP(Personal Basis Profile) which is included on CVM. The PBP defines the GUI Stardard API to support GUI facility. When the GUI Stardard API is implemented, JNI(Java Native Interface) is used to connect between Java Native Method and Native function in Operating System. In this pater, PBP which is defined by CVM has designed and implemented on the Real-Time Operating System, iRTOS.

  • Graphic User Interface has been playing a great role in giving people easy access of computer. The research of implementing graphic image on the computer display and inventing mouse were the threshold of GUI's birth in 1960s, and those were succeeded to developing the first GUI based-computer at the Xerox research center in 1970s. An education theory for the children and the visual metaphor of real life environment were adapted to implement GUI. They were continuously studied and tested in the beginning of creating the GUI concept and design method. In 1980s, the GUI concept and design method were generally applied to all personal computer development. Apple and Microsoft have led the commercialization of their GUI based-05, and also got their own positions in the market as GUI standards in 1990s. The first research for the GUI based-computer implementation in Xerox has established very clear concept and design methods. This GUI standards are evolving Into more convenient and natural ways in various computing environment and developing technologies these days.
