LEED v3(2009)에서의 친환경 단지 개발에 관한 연구 - LEED for Neighborhood Development를 중심으로 (A Study on LEED v3(2009) Sustainable Neighborhood Development - Focused on LEED for Neighborhood Development)

  • Sustainability became the keyword of our society worldwide, and it is undoubtful that buildings are mainly responsible for green house gas emission and energy consumption. Responding to current needs, US Green Building Council has launched the first LEED rating system in 1998. Since then, LEED has been evolved and it has multiple sub-system categorized by project types. This study aims to analyze characteristics of sustainable neighborhood development and to suggest methodology for establishing certification system in Korea. First, LEED-ND 2009(LEED for Neighborhood Development) was addressed with certified projects by US Green Building Council. After that, LEED-NC 2009(LEED for New Construction) was compared with green building certification criteria in Korea to find out unforeseen aspects by each system, in terms of sustainable neighborhood development. As a result of this study, sustainable neighborhood development requires a transition of architects' responsibility beyond building design. Building technology has been advanced at extremely fast pace, however, applying techniques to individual architecture would not make our town sustainable. This study provided basic resources to understand that creating sustainable neighborhood is social phenomenon and more studies should be undertaken to establish Green Neighborhood Certification Criteria in Korea.

  • In the current condition of seeking eco-friendly development, Green Building Certification Criteria can reduce environment burden that is able to be arose in life cycles of buildings. Moreover, it is a great help to induce to constructing pleasant environment. The ripple effect that also improves saving of energy and resources of the whole country, and green-house gases reduction effect and environment friendliness of other buildings can be expected by promoting eco-friendly education facilities which accounts for a great part of public buildings in comparison with other buildings. In this study, analysis of old and new indicators' contrast and contents in Green Building Certification, and post evaluation of education facilities and interviews on authorities were proceeded for improving evaluation indicator of each item in Green Building Certification Criteria. As a result, it analyzed problems in terms of institution and operations management, and drew implications accordingly. In addition, it has a significance in that it proposes improvements of substantively applicable indicators with high applicability.

환기량 변화에 따른 신축공동주택의 실내공기질 개선효과 검토 (The Effect on Indoor Air Quality Improvement by Ventilation Rate in Newly Built Apartment)

  • The recent indoor air quality problem in a newly-built apartment house is resulted from the improvement of airtightness performance and the use of the building material contained harmful chemical substances. As a result, these cause indoor air quality gradually to become worse and the harmful effect on occupant health called Sick House Syndrome. The most effective solution to improve the indoor air quality is to encourage the use of green building material. However, if the house is built with general building material, ventilation with outdoor air is alternative to dilute the pollutant concentration. The purpose of this re-search is to find optimum ventilation time in a newly-built apartment house at which the ventilatoris installed. It is found that the HCHO and toluene concentrations are remarkably decreased with the elapse of ventilation time and the concentration reduction rate is increased with increment of air change rate after one hour after operating the ventilator.
