DGPS 음향 측심기를 이용한 농업용 저수지의 퇴적량 산정 (Calculation of Sediment Volume of the Agriculture Reservoir Using DGPS Echo-Sounder)

  • 본 연구는 예당저수지의 합리적인 유지와 준설사업의 기초자료를 확보하기 위하여 수행하였다. 퇴적량 산정을 위한 내용적 측량을 DGPS 음향 측심기를 이용하여 2004년 11월 $25\~30$일간 수행하였다. 인공위성으로부터 위도와 경도신호는 1 초 간격으로 UTM 좌표 계로 수신하였다. 수심 값은 0.2초 간격으로 MIDAS Surveyor에 있는 Eecho sounder sensor 로 측정하였다 Arc Info GIS 프로그램을 사용하여 우리나라 좌표계인 TM좌표로 변환하였다. 등수심선도 작성은 Sufer, Arc View와 Auto CAD Program을 사용하였다. 저수지 용량은 평균등고선면적법으로 산정하였다. 예당저수지의 유효저수량을 결정하기 위한 이번 조사의 결과는 4,601.6ha-m로 기왕의 유효저수량보다 약 5.425ha-m정도 퇴적된 것으로 파악되었다.

전파통신에서의 전리층 역할 (IONOSPHERIC EFFECTS ON THE RADIO COMMUNICATION)

  • The ionosphere, the atmosphere of the earth ionized by solar radiations, has been strongly varied with solar activity. The ionosphere varies with the solar cycle, the seasons, the latitudes and during any given day. Radio wave propagation through or in the ionosphere is affected by ionospheric condition so that one needs to consider its effects on operating communication systems normally. For examples, sporadic E may form at any time. It occurs at altitudes between 90 to 140 km (in the E region), and may be spread over a large area or be confined to a small region. Sometimes the sporadic E layer works as a mirror so that the communication signal does not reach the receiver. And radiation from the Sun during large solar flares causes increased ionization in the D region which results in greater absorption of HF radio waves. This phenomenon is called short wave fade-outs. If the flare is large enough, the whole of the HF spectrum can be rendered unusable for a period of time. Due to events on the Sun, sometimes the Earth's magnetic field becomes disturbed. The geomagnetic field and the ionosphere are linked in complex ways and a disturbance in the geomagnetic field can often cause a disturbance in the F region of the ionosphere. An enhancement will not usually concern the HF communicator, but the depression may cause frequencies normally used for communication to be too high with the result that the wave penetrates the ionosphere. Ionospheric storms can occur throughout the solar cycle and are related to coronal mass ejections (CMEs) and coronal holes on the Sun. Except the above mentioned phenomena, there are a lot of things to affect the radio communication. Nowadays, radio technique for probing the terrestrial ionosphere has a tendency to use satellite system such as GPS. To get more accurate information about the variation of the ionospheric electron density, a TEC measurement system is necessary so RRL will operate the system in the near future.

  • Rapid developments in wireless sensor networks have extended many applications, hence, many studies have developed wireless sensor network positioning systems for indoor environments. Among those systems, the Global Position System (GPS) is unsuitable for indoor environments due to Line-Of-Sight (LOS) limitations, while the wireless sensor network is more suitable, given its advantages of low cost, easy installation, and low energy consumption. Due to the complex settings of indoor environments and the high demands for precision, the implementation of an indoor positioning system is difficult to construct. This study adopts a low-cost positioning method that does not require additional hardware, and uses the received signal strength (RSS) values from the receiver node to estimate the distance between the test objects. Since many objects in indoor environments would attenuate the radio signals and cause errors in estimation distances, knowing the path loss exponent (PLE) in an environment is crucial. However, most studies preset a fixed PLE, and then substitute it into a radio propagation loss model to estimate the distance between the test points; such method would lead to serious errors. To address this problem, this study proposes a Path Loss Exponent Estimation Algorithm, which uses only four beacon nodes to construct a radio propagation loss model for an indoor environment, and is able to provide enhanced positioning precision, accurate positioning services, low cost, and high efficiency.

  • This paper describes the development and verification of control algorithms for V2X and environmental sensor integrated intersection support and safety systems. The objective of the research is to develop core technologies for effective fusion of V2X and environmental sensors and to develop new safety function for intersection safety. One of core technologies is to achieve the improvement of GPS accuracy, and the other is to develop the algorithm of a vehicle identification which matches all data from V2X, vehicle sensors and environmental sensors to specific vehicles. A intersection optimal pass (IOP) algorithm is designed based on these core technologies. IOP recommends appropriate speed to pass the intersection in the consideration of traffic light signal and preceeding vehicle existence. Another function is developed to prevent a collision avoidance when car crash caused by traffic violation of surrounding vehicles is expected. Finally all functions are implemented and tested in three test vehicles. It is shown that IOP can support convenient and comfortable driving with recommending optimal pass speed and collision avoidance algorithm can effectively prevent collision caused by traffic sign violation of surrounding vehicles.

졸-겔 방법으로 제조된 Er doped $Al_2O_3/SiO_2$ 필름의 다공성과 결정성에 대한 광 발광 특성 (The dependence of porosity and crystallity on photoluminescence properties of Er doped $Al_2O_3/SiO_2$ films prepared by sol-gel method)

  • Optical amplificator have been used to compensate the losses in the optical signal transmission and processing. Today, there has been increasing demand for the very low cost optical amplifier. Sol-gel offers considerable potential both low cost manufacture, and for great flexibility in materials composition and structure. In addition, the sol-gel process is a very attractive method for producing porous materials with controlled structure. In this work, we present the potoluminescence properties of Er doped A1$_2$O$_3$/SiO$_2$ films. Erbium doped alumina nano sol was prepared by Al(NO$_3$)$_3$.9$H_2O$ and Er(NO$_3$)$_3$.5$H_2O$ through hydrolysis and peptization, and then GPS (3-Glycidoxypropyltrimethoxysilane) was added into Er doped alumina nano sol for organic- inorganic hybridization. Er doped A1$_2$O$_3$/SiO$_2$ film was obtained by spin coating, dip coating and thermal treatment from 30$0^{\circ}C$~120$0^{\circ}C$, and there were crack-free after thermal treatment. The thickness of film was measured SEM, and the porosity of film was characterized by BET and TGA. The crystal phase of Er doped A1$_2$O$_3$/SiO$_2$ were determined by XRD. Finally, the photoluminescence properties of Er doped A1$_2$O$_3$/SiO$_2$ films will be discuss with the consideration of porosity and crystallity.

다중 전파측위 융복합 시스템의 M&S 소프트웨어 설계 (M&S Software Design of Multiple Radio Positioning Integration System)

  • Even though GNSS provides highly accurate navigation information all over the world, it is vulnerable to jamming in the electronic warfare due to its weak signal power. The United States and Korea have plans to use terrestrial navigation systems as back-up systems during outage of GNSS. In order to develop back-up systems of GNSS, an M&S software platform is necessary for performance evaluation of various vehicle trajectories and integrated navigation systems. In this paper a design method of an M&S software is proposed for evaluation of multiple radio positioning integration systems. The proposed M&S software consists of a navigation environment generation part, a navigation algorithm part, a GUI part and a coverage analysis part. Effectiveness of the proposed design method is shown by implementing an M&S software for the GPS, DME and eLoran navigation systems.

초음파를 이용한 유해적조의 실시간 음향탐지 시스템 개발 및 평가 (Development and Evaluation of Real-time Acoustic Detection System of Harmful Red-tide Using Ultrasonic Sound)

  • The toxic, Harmful Algal Blooms (HABs) caused by the Cochlodinium polykrikoides have a serious impact on the coastal waters of Korea. In this study, the acoustic detection system was developed for rapid HABs detection, based on the acoustic backscattering properties of the C. polykrikoides. The developed system was mainly composed of a pulser-receiver board, a signal processor board, a control board, a network board, a power board, ultrasonic sensors (3.5 and 5.0 MHz), an environmental sensor, GPS, and a land-based control unit. To evaluate the performance of the system, a trail was done at a laboratory, and two in situ trials were conducted: (1) when there was no red tide, and (2) when there was red tide. In the laboratory evaluation, the system performed well in accordance with the number of C. polykrikoides in the received level. Second, under the condition when there was no red tide in the field, there was a good correlation between the acoustic data and sampling data. Finally, under the condition when there was red tide in the field, the system successfully worked at various densities in accordance with the number of C. polykrikoides, and the results corresponded with the sampling data and monitoring result of NFRDI (National Fisheries Research & Development Institute). From the laboratory and field evaluations, the developed acoustic detection system for early detecting HABs has demonstrated that it could be a significant system to monitor the occurrence of HABs in coastal regions.

유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅을 위한 초음파 위치인식 시스템의 인식영역 확장 기법에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Recognizing Range Expansion Techniques of the Ultrasonic Location Awareness System for the Ubiquitous Computing)

  • 이 연구는 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅 환경에서 절대 위치 좌표를 제공할 수 있는 초음파 위치인식 시스템에 관한 것이다. 무선(RF: Radio Frequency) 신호에 의해 동기화된 다수의 고정된 발신기가 순차적으로 초음파를 발신하며, 초음파 신호들을 수신한 수신기에서 TOF를 파악하여 이를 거리로 환산한 다음 위치정보를 계산한다. 초음파의 전파시간(TOF: Time of Flight)은 주기인식 방법을 통해 파악한다. 또한 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅을 위한 인식 영역의 확장을 위해 셀 매칭 기법과 부호화된 초음파 기법을 제안한다. 초음파 위치인식 시스템인 U-SAT을 사용하여 주기인식 기법의 유용성을 입증하기 위하여 다양한 거리에서 실험을 수행하였다. 또한 셀 매칭 기법에 의한 영역 확장에서도 위치 측정의 정확도를 검증하였으며 부호화된 초음파 기법의 분석으로 그 유용성도 입증하였다. 그 결과로 인해 저가격, 높은 갱신율, 그리고 상대적으로 뛰어난 정밀도의 입장에서 GPS가 적용될 수 없는 환경에서의 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅의 위치인식 시스템으로서의 가능성을 입증하였다.

군용 무인차량과 보병의 충돌방지를 위한 제어시스템 (A Control System for Avoiding Collisions between Autonomous Warfare Vehicles and Infantry)

  • 본 논문연구에서는 군용 무인차량과 보병의 위치를 실시간으로 추적하여 충돌을 방지하기 위한 제어시스템을 개발하였다. 개발된 제어시스템은 무선장비들의 위치를 추적하기 위하여 저비용의 RSS 측정값을 사용하였다. 다중경로 환경에서 장비들 위치 추적의 정확성을 향상시키기 위하여 수학적 평균 필터링 과정을 거쳐서 RSS 행렬 값들을 계산하였다. 또한 무선통신 환경에서 빈번히 발생하는 손실된 패킷의 복구 또는 대체를 위하여 퍼지 규칙 선행 알고리즘을 개발하였다. 무선장비들 사이의 거리 정보를 기반으로 무선장비의 위치를 추적하기 위하여 그라디언트(gradient) 알고리즘과 기하학적 삼각 추적 알고리즘을 개발하였다. 성능 평가를 위하여 기하학적 삼각 추적 알고리즘의 위치 추적 결과를 GPS에 의한 위치와 그라디언트 알고리즘의 위치 추적 결과와 비교 분석하였다.

Design of Microstrip Antenna for Satellite Navigation System Jamming

  • This paper proposed a microstrip antenna that can perform jamming of satellite signals from the GPS L5, GLONASS G3, BDS B2 frequency bands (1164 - 1217 MHz) that are employed mainly for military purposes among the GNSS frequencies using unmanned aircrafts over the enemy's sky in time of emergency. The single element in the proposed antenna can be easily mounted to unmanned aircrafts. This study analyzed the characteristics of miniaturization and beam of radiating elements by applying the image theories and perturbation effect to satisfy the uniform level at ${\pm}45^{\circ}$ of beam steering goal due to the phase delay after antenna array. The designed microstrip antenna had a miniaturized radiating element area (x-y plane), which was reduced by 76.3% compared to that of basic microstrip antenna, and its beam width was $190^{\circ}$ in the E-plane and $140^{\circ}$ in the H plane. In addition, the simulation was conducted to determine the characteristics due to the phase delay by arranging the designed single microstrip antenna by $1{\times}4$ array and the results showed that beam steering of ${\pm}45^{\circ}$ is possible in the H-plane on the basis of $0^{\circ}$. Thus, the proposed antenna was verified to be effective in satellite signal jamming in the air as it was attached to the lower end of unmanned aircrafts.
