  • We processed seven years data of 142 IGS(International GNSS Service) stations were processed, which have been selected with an optimal network algorithm, to realize terrestrial reference system. To verify the result, a comparison with the ITRF2005 was given both in positions and velocities with transformation parameters estimation. The transformation parameters are within 4.3 mm in length, while the RMS(root mean square) difference of positions and velocities are 6.7 mm and 1.3 mm/yr in horizontal and 13.3 mm and 2.4 mm/yr in vertical, respectively, which represent good coincidences with ITRF2005. This research would help developing our own geodetic reference frame and may be applied for the global earth observations such as the global tectonics. A further improved TRF would be expected by applying various data processing strategies and with extension of data in number and observation period.

  • Every year there are great socio-economic loss and damage caused by landslides in steep slopes. According to recent statistics, the percentage of casualty due to breakdown in steep slopes was 27.3% of all natural disasters occurring over the past decade($1998{\sim}2007$). Therefore, the nationwide scale survey on the landslide susceptibility was made to recognize the status quo for appropriate troubleshooting measure against the collapse of steep slopes. Nevertheless, few dent that the data collected is not sufficient to grasp the overall understanding of the onsite situation due to lack of spatial information. As a result, the study aims to develop a program enabling to send on site topological data and prefixed data-gather criteria directly to the central management server in real-time basis. It will be conducted through mobile devices and portable GPS system, accordingly. This program is expected to be implemented as an efficient application tool of slope spatial information acquisition.

  • The important issues of facility database management in GIS are to collect up-to-date information and to update information in accordance with new-establishment, repair and replacement of the facilities. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a system which has capability of monitoring facilities as well as managing database efficiently. The purpose of this study is to propose possibility of implementation of mobile GIS solution for the facility management. In order to achieve the goal, to process existing digital maps and to receive on-site information through the wireless communication service are required. In addition, the system is required to process spatial information obtained by GPS and digital photogrammetric technique with real-time updating database in server. The system increases efficiency both in work flow and monitoring for facility management by providing optimal routing information to the sites and real-time two-way communication using VoIP(Voice over Internet Protocol). The system is expected to perform real-time database management effectively. In consequence, the system could appropriately response on-site situations in various practical applications. The proposed technology could contribute to improve nation's leading-edge technology.

  • Lately, Digital Photogrammetry has been increasingly applied to various hightech industries and becomes one of more interesting focuses of study than ever. Thus, this study aims to develop a Road Horizontal Alignment Information System by means of digital photogrammetry. Data acquired from digital photographic techniques were processed using Delphi, an object oriented programming language to develop a computer aided program, that allows us to build the information on Road Horizontal Alignment(Beginning Point of Curve, Ending Point of Curve, Radius, Intersection Point). The developed program could maximize visualization for better analysis compared with traditional programs because it utilizes many image data. Comparing with data from traditional horizontal alignment extraction programs based on the principle of least square method, the data acquired by Horizontal Alignment Information and kinematic GPS showed out of the developed road information systems the improved accuracy of IP value up to about 2m in the direction of X, Y axes, where the accuracy of curve radius(R) becomes enhanced up to about 2.5 m.

  • In this paper, we investigate the accuracy of various sensor models developed for linear pushbroom satellite images. We define the accuracy of a sensor model in two aspects: the accuracy of bundle adjustments and the accuracy of estimating exterior orientation parameters. The first accuracy has been analyzed and reported frequently whereas the second accuracy has somewhat been neglected. We argue that the second accuracy is as important as the first one. The second accuracy describes a model's ability to predict satellite orbit and attitude, which has many direct and indirect applications. Analysis was carried out on the traditional collinearity-based sensor models and orbit-based sensor models. Collinearity-based models were originally developed for aerial photos and modified for linear pushbroom-type satellite images. Orbit-based models have been used within satellite communities for satellite control and orbit determination. Models were tested with two Kompsat-1 EOC scenes and GPS-driven control points. Test results showed that orbit-based models produced better estimation of exterior orientation parameters while maintained comparable accuracy on bundle adjustments.

  • In recent years, the importance of geospatial data have been emphasized not only for the national GIS programs and but also in the value added commercial and industry markets. There is no doubt that GIS, GPS, aerial and satellite imagery data were provided powerful tools to support national information infrastructure for geospatial database. While great emphasis has been laid on the geospatial data, there has been little analysis or evaluation of how to maximize the benefits of using these information sources. Also, with the proliferation of geographic data and information sources such as satellite imagery, digital aerial photography, digital topographic and vector data, there is a great need to inform professionals from all disciplines as to the benefits of these information sources and how to best put them to use within any given application. From the first publication of KSGPC(Korean Society of Geodesy, Photogrammetry and Cartography) papers in 1981, our objective was, and is, to help develop the wider spectrum of GIS in the academy and industry by exposing new users to the benefits of GIS, remote sensing, mapping, GPS and photogrammetry. In this presentation, we will introduce KSGPC works and will evaluate GIS-related governmental policies and programs in Korea for the past and the future to present different status between Korea and Russia. It is now important to investigate lessons learnt from two countries' experiences and developed an empirical framework to combine outcomes from GIS-related researches in Korea and Russia. This may enable GIS professionals to gain a wider range of experiences in the international context, and consequently, help them to develop new markets for GIS. Therefore, we arranged the possible action items and interesting points to corporate and to promote the academic growth in the practice of GIS.

  • In the case of Drone Photogrammetry, the "pixel to point tool" module of Metashape, Pix4D Mapper, ContextCapture, and Global MapperGIS, which is a simple software, are widely used. Each SW has its own logic for the analysis of aerial triangulation, but from the user's point of view, it is necessary to select a SW by comparative analysis of the coordinate values of geospatial information for the result. Taking aerial photos for drone photogrammetry, surveying GCP reference points through VRS-GPS Survey, processing the acquired basic data using each SW to construct ortho image and DSM, and GCPSurvey performance and acquisition from each SW The coordinates (X,Y) of the center point of the GCP target on the Ortho-Image and the height value (EL) of the GCP point by DSM were compared. According to the "Public Surveying Work Regulations", the results of each SW are all within the margin of error. It turned out that there is no problem with the regulations no matter which SW is included within the scope.

  • Mechanization is the characteristic of the industrial era and computerization is the characteristic of the Information Era. Now we are facing on the transition from Industrial Era to information Era. Established the National Geo-spatial Data Infrastructures is the fundamental base for information society and is one part of the national basic economic development plan. From 1980's China started his successful transition from traditional methods to high-tech based mapping. China has laid out a high accuracy national GPS (global Positioning System) network, and completed the geographic information databases for scale of 1:1million and 1:250,000. Now it is working on the databases for scales of 1:50,000 and 1:10,000, the world highest level. The massive national programmed has been dubbed "Digital China," since it involves massive quantities of digitized geographical information. Simultaneity, GIS technology and the geo-spatial data have been used widely in electronic government affair, environmental protection, disaster control, ITS and etc. The users have realized the benefits more and more widely. Internet is an efficient way to distribute the geo-information, the State Bureau of Surveying and Mapping has give great effort to settle down the rules and standards to establish the clearing house. Some National Geo-standards have issued, and some of them are on the way. The GIS software is another important factor in the GIS industry. Chinese government working-out some good policy to supports the GIS software developer to have their own copyright. This paper is based on the above to introduce the status and development of Geomatics in China. in China.

  • These days, surveying instruments are developing rapidly and the precision is improving continuously. The building of three dimensional terrains of high precision are possible and the calculation of the areas or the volumes have high precision due to the development of the technique of the spatial information system using computer. But actually, in construction site they calculate two-dimensional area using the traditional method, plate table surveying, planimeter, and then get three-dimensional area through multiplying two-dimensional area by the slope correction factor. In this study, we show the defect and inefficiency of the calculation of area by the traditional methods and survey the area with Electric Distance Measurement and GPS instrument. With this data, we made the three dimensional terrain model and calculated two-dimensional area, three-dimensional area. After that, we compared areas that calculated by algorithm of triangulated irregular network and analysis of grid method with standard area that calculated by the traditional method. Finally, this paper suggested more effective and precious method in calculating three-dimensional area.

  • As Global Positioning System is able to provide 24-hour all weather surveying capability and high precision survey in three dimension, expected that the extensive use of GPS to support geophysics, geophysics, millitary and time correction etc. But in order to use the GPS results effectively, we have to solve problems about coordinates transformation relating the WGS84 to Bessel Datums and development of the accurate geoid undulation model. In this paper, we derive polynomial model equations about geoid undulation around local area(longitude $126^{\circ}{\sim}129^{\circ}$, latitude $36^{\circ}{\sim}37^{\circ}$) in Korea by GPS/Leveling method, also study the geoidal height calcaulation methods supplemented by Earth Gravitational Models (OSU981A, OSU86F).
