Since the method of generating 3D Spatial Information using aerial photographs was introduced, lots of researches on effective generation methods and applications have been performed. Nadir and oblique imagery are acquired in a same time by Pictometry system, and then 3D positioning is processed as Multi-Looking Camera procedure. In this procedure, the number of GCPs is the main factor which can affect the accuracy of true-orthoimage. In this study, 3D positioning accuracies of true-orthoimages which had been generated using various number of GCPs were estimated. Also, the standard of GCP number and distribution were proposed.

In order to meet the users demand, who needs faster and more accurate data in geographic information it is necessary to obtain and process the data more effectively. Now more effective data obtainment about geographic information is possible through the development of unified technology, which is applied to the field of geographic information, as well as through the development of hardware and software engineering. With the fast and precise correction and update, the development of unified technology can bring the reduction of the time and money. For the obtainment of geographic information which can meet the demand of the users, the unified technology has been applied to various fields, and in Aerial Photogrammetry field, many are doing researches actively for the GPS/INS unified system. To obtain fast and precise geographic information using Aerial Photogrammetry method, it is necessary to develop Airborne GPS/INS unified system, which makes GCP to the minimum. For this reason, this study has tried to develop a system which could unite and process both GPS and INS data. For this matter, code-processing module for DGPS and OTF initialization module, which can decide integer ambiguity even in motion, have been developed. And also, continuous kinematic carrier-processing module has been developed to calculate the location at the moment of filming. In addition, this study suggests a possibility of using a module, which can unite GPS and INS, using Kalman filtering, and also shows the INS navigation theory.
In urgent situations such as disasters and accidents, rapid data acquisition and processing is required. Therefore, in this study, a rapid geocoding method according to EOP (Exterior Orientation Parameter) correction was proposed through pattern analysis of the initial UAV image information. As a result, in the research area with a total flight length of 1.3 km and a width of 0.102 ㎢, the generation time of geocoding images took about 5 to 10 seconds per image, showing a position error of about 8.51 m. It is believed that the use of the rapid geocoding method proposed in this study will help provide basic data for on-site monitoring and decision-making in emergency situations such as disasters and accidents.
This paper proposed a novel method for constructing quasi-cyclic low-density parity-check (QC-LDPC) codes of medium to high code rates that can be applied in cloud data storage systems, requiring better error correction capabilities. The novelty of this method lies in the construction of sparse base matrices, using a girth greater than 4 that can then be expanded with a lift factor to produce high code rate QC-LDPC codes. Investigations revealed that the proposed large-sized QC-LDPC codes with high code rates displayed low encoding complexities and provided a low bit error rate (BER) of 10-10 at 3.5 dB Eb/N0 than conventional LDPC codes, which showed a BER of 10-7 at 3 dB Eb/N0. Subsequently, implementation of the proposed QC-LDPC code in a softwaredefined radio, using the NI USRP 2920 hardware platform, was conducted. As a result, a BER of 10-6 at 4.2 dB Eb/N0 was achieved. Then, the performance of the proposed codes based on their encoding-decoding speeds and storage overhead was investigated when applied to a cloud data storage (GCP). Our results revealed that the proposed codes required much less time for encoding and decoding (of data files having a 10 MB size) and produced less storage overhead than the conventional LDPC and Reed-Solomon codes.
The KOMPSAT-3 can acquire panchromatic stereo image with 0.7 m spatial resolution, and provides Rational Polynomial Coefficient (RPC). In order to determine ground coordinate using the provides RPC, which include interior-exterior orientation errors, its adjustment is needed by using the Ground Control Point (GCP). Several thousands of national Unified Control Points (UCPs) are established and overall distributed in the country by the Korean National Geographic Information Institute (NGII). UCPs therefore can be easily searched and downloaded by the national-control-point-record-issues system. This paper introduced the point-extraction method and the distance-bearing method to detect of UCPs. As results, the distance-bearing method was better detected through the experiment. RPC adjustment using this method was compared with that by only one UCP and GCPs using GPS. The proposed method was more accurate than the other method in the horizontal. As demonstrated in this paper, the proposed UCPs detection method could be replaced GPS surveying for RPC adjustment.

Because satellite images include geometry distortions according to photographing conditions and sensor property, and their spatial and radiational resolution and spectrum resolution are different, it is so difficult to make a precise results of analysis. For comparing more than two images, the precise geometric corrections should be preceded because it necessary to eliminate systematic errors due to basic sensor information difference and non-systematic errors due to topographical undulations. In this study, we did sensor modeling using satellite sensor information to make a basic map of change detection for artificial topography. We eliminated the systematic errors which can be occurred in photographing conditions using GCP and DEM data. The Kompsat EOC images relief could be reduced by precise rectification method. Classifying images which was used for change detections by city and forest zone, the accuracy of the matching results are increased by 10% and the positioning accuracies also increased. The result of change detection using basic map could be used for basic data fur GIS application and topographical renovation.

Ground control points(GCPs) can be extracted from SAR data given precise orbit for DTM generation using optic images and other SAR data. In this study, we extract GCPs from ERS SAR data and SRTM DEM. Although it is very difficult to identify GCPs in ERS SAR image, the geometry of optic image and other SAR data are able to be corrected and more precise DTM can be constructed from stereo optic images. Twenty GCPs were obtained from the ERS SAR data with precise Delft orbit information. After the correction was applied, the mean values of planimetric distance errors of the GCPs were 3.7m, 12.1 and -0.8m with standard deviations of 19.9m, 18.1, and 7.8m in geocentric X, Y, and Z coordinates, respectively. The geometries of SPOT stereo pair were corrected by 13 GCPs, and r.m.s. errors were 405m, 705m and 8.6m in northing, easting and height direction, respectively. And the geometries of RADARS AT stereo pair were corrected by 12 GCPs, and r.m.s. errors were 804m, 7.9m and 6.9m in northing, easting and height direction, respectively. DTMs, through a method of area based matching with pyramid images, were generated by SPOT stereo images and RADARS AT stereo images. Comparison between points of the obtained DTMs and points estimated from a national 1 :5,000 digital map was performed. For DTM by SPOT stereo images, the mean values of distance errors in northing, easting and height direction were respectively -7.6m, 9.6m and -3.1m with standard deviations of 9.1m, 12.0m and 9.1m. For DTM by RADARSAT stereo images, the mean values of distance errors in northing, easting and height direction were respectively -7.6m, 9.6m and -3.1m with standard deviations of 9.1m, 12.0m and 9.1m. These results met the accuracy of DTED level 2

UAV(Unmanned Aerial vehicle) could be effectively applied in a field of land monitoring for analyzing disaster area and mapping, because it can quickly acquire image data at low costs. For this reason, we reviewed the legal system related to mapping, and proposed suggestions for improving in legal system, due to introducing the UAV to Korean land-monitoring through this paper. Also, we evaluated spatial and time accuracy of the digital map, which are generated from UAV images that were taken for occasional map updates and disaster detections. As a result, the mean error is about 10m if only GPS/INS data used, while using GCP(Ground Control Points) it is about 10cm. Therefore, we conclude that the UAV could be effective method in korea land-monitoring field.

Direct Georeferencing by combined multi-sensor based on the direct measurement of the projection centers and rotation angle of sensor through loading the GPS and INS in aircraft. The method of combined multi-sensor can offer us to acquire the exterior orientation parameters with only minimum GCPs, even the ground control process could be completely skipped. Consequently, It is possible extreme to reduce the time and expense for the mapping process. In this study, a CCD camera is simultaneously used in combined multi-sensor surveying, and acquired CCD image through Direct Georeferencing produce digital orthoimage. In this process, methods of combining sensor and digital orthoimage are examined and estimated. For the comparison of the positioning accuracy digital orthoimage through Direct Georeferencing, GCPs determined by GPS surveying are used. Two digital orthoimage are produced; one with a few GCP and the other without them. The accuracy of orthoimages produced through combined multi-sensor with GCPs meets that of 1:1,000 maps. Without GCPs, it meets that of 1:5,000 maps.
Direct Georeferencing(DG) Is based on the direct measurement of the projection centers and rotation angle of sensor through loading the GPS and INS in aircraft. The methods can offer us to acquire the exterior orientation parameters with only minimum GCPs, even the ground control process could be completely skipped. Hence, as long as securing Digital Elevation Model (DEM), it is feasible to generate digital orthophotos without performing the aerial triangulation with Ground Control Point (GCP) surveying. In this study, the DEM is automatically generated by using a image matching technique based on aerial photos and exterior orientation parameters. This is followed by producing an orthophoto from these results. Finally, accuracy analysis of the georeferencing technique for generating orthoimage indicates that RMS errors of 62cm and 76cm occurred at the X and the Y axis, respectively. This means that the results fulfill the demanding accuracy of the 1:5000 digital map. Hence, it is possible to conclude from this study that the direct georeferencing based orthoimage generation method is able to effectively digital map update.
