일반화 볼록공간에서의 평형문제들

  • 평형문제들에서의 기본적인 정리들이 일반화 볼록공간에서 어떻게 확장되는가를 보인다. KKM 이론의 중요한 정리들 대부분이 위상벡터공간에서의 선형성을 가정하지 않아도 위상적인 성질만으로 성립한다. 이같은 정리들의 예로는 KKM정리, von Neumann의 최소최대정리와 교차정리, Nash의 평형정리, 여러 가지 부동점정리, 극대원정리, Ky Fan의 최소최대부등식, 변분부등식들, 최량근사정리, 일반화 의사평형문제들의 해의 존재정리들이 있다.

  • 컴퓨터 비전의 하위 태스크(Task)인 의미론적 분할(Semantic Segmentation)은 자율주행, 해상에서 선박찾기 등 다양한 분야에서 연구되고 있다. 기존 FCN(Fully Conovlutional Networks) 기반 의미론적 분할 모델은 다운샘플링(Dowsnsampling)과정에서 공간정보의 손실이 발생하여 정확도가 하락했다. 본 논문에서는 공간정보 손실을 완화하고자 PSA(Polarized Self-attention)의 공간정보 강조 모듈을 HRNet(High-resolution Networks)의 합성곱 블록 사이에 추가한다. 실험결과 파라미터는 3.1M, GFLOPs는 3.2G 증가했으나 mIoU는 0.26% 증가했다. 공간정보가 의미론적 분할 정확도에 영향이 미치는 것을 확인했다.

A Hardware Design Space Exploration toward Low-Area and High-Performance Architecture for the 128-bit Block Cipher Algorithm SEED (128-비트 블록 암호화 알고리즘 SEED의 저면적 고성능 하드웨어 구조를 위한 하드웨어 설계 공간 탐색)

  • This paper presents the trade-off relationship between area and performance in the hardware design space exploration for the Korean national standard 128-bit block cipher algorithm SEED. In this paper, we compare the following four hardware design types of SEED algorithm : (1) Design 1 that is 16 round fully pipelining approach, (2) Design 2 that is a one round looping approach, (3) Design 3 that is a G function sharing and looping approach, and (4) Design 4 that is one round with internal 3 stage pipelining approach. The Design 1, Design 2, and Design 3 are the existing design approaches while the Design 4 is the newly proposed design in this paper. Our new design employs the pipeline between three G-functions and adders consisting of a F function, which results in the less area requirement than Design 2 and achieves the higher performance than Design 2 and Design 3 due to pipelining and module sharing techniques. We design and implement all the comparing four approaches with real hardware targeting FPGA for the purpose of exact performance and area analysis. The experimental results show that Design 4 has the highest performance except Design 1 which pursues very aggressive parallelism at the expanse of area. Our proposed design (Design 4) shows the best throughput/area ratio among all the alternatives by 2.8 times. Therefore, our new design for SEED is the most efficient design comparing with the existing designs.

Method for Road Vanishing Point Detection Using DNN and Hog Feature (DNN과 HoG Feature를 이용한 도로 소실점 검출 방법)

  • A vanishing point is a point on an image to which parallel lines projected from a real space gather. A vanishing point in a road space provides important spatial information. It is possible to improve the position of an extracted lane or generate a depth map image using a vanishing point in the road space. In this paper, we propose a method of detecting vanishing points on images taken from a vehicle's point of view using Deep Neural Network (DNN) and Histogram of Oriented Gradient (HoG). The proposed algorithm is divided into a HoG feature extraction step, in which the edge direction is extracted by dividing an image into blocks, a DNN learning step, and a test step. In the learning stage, learning is performed using 2,300 road images taken from a vehicle's point of views. In the test phase, the efficiency of the proposed algorithm using the Normalized Euclidean Distance (NormDist) method is measured.

A New Flash Memory Package Structure with Intelligent Buffer System and Performance Evaluation (버퍼 시스템을 내장한 새로운 플래쉬 메모리 패키지 구조 및 성능 평가)

  • This research is to design a high performance NAND-type flash memory package with a smart buffer cache that enhances the exploitation of spatial and temporal locality. The proposed buffer structure in a NAND flash memory package, called as a smart buffer cache, consists of three parts, i.e., a fully-associative victim buffer with a small block size, a fully-associative spatial buffer with a large block size, and a dynamic fetching unit. This new NAND-type flash memory package can achieve dramatically high performance and low power consumption comparing with any conventional NAND-type flash memory. Our results show that the NAND flash memory package with a smart buffer cache can reduce the miss ratio by around 70% and the average memory access time by around 67%, over the conventional NAND flash memory configuration. Also, the average miss ratio and average memory access time of the package module with smart buffer for a given buffer space (e.g., 3KB) can achieve better performance than package modules with a conventional direct-mapped buffer with eight times(e.g., 32KB) as much space and a fully-associative configuration with twice as much space(e.g., 8KB)

  • Automatic semiconductor manufacturing systems are demanded to improve the efficiency of the semiconductor production process. These systems include the functionalities such as the analysis and management schemes for very large real-time data in order to enhance the productivities. So, it requires the efficient storage management system to store very large real-time data. Traditional database management systems(e.g. Oracle, MY-SQL, MS-SQL) are based on disk. However, previous DBMS's have the limitation on the low storing performance. In this paper, we propose a compress-merge storing method of very large real-time data using insert transaction of a block unit. The proposed method shows better processing performances compare to conventional DBMS's. Also compress-merge method makes it possible that it can store large real-time data on low storage cost. Therefore, the proposed method can be applied to an efficient storage management system in the semiconductor production process.

Fire resistance assessment in construction joint of precast fireproof duct slab (프리캐스트 방식 내화풍도슬래브 시공조인트부의 화재저항성능 평가)

  • Duct slabs, which are used to build ventilation facilities in underground spaces with transverse ventilation system, need to secure fire resistance according to longitudinal and heavy vehicle traffic of tunnels. This study measured the temperature change at the construction joint of the precast fireproof duct slab which integrates fire resistance material and duct slab under the RWS fire scenario. As a result, it was confirmed that if there is no reinforcement of the construction joint, damage will occur in concrete inside the construction joint, leading to damage to the fireproofing layer. On the other hand, when one side of the construction joint was reinforced with fireproofing materials, it showed more than three times the fire resistance performance compared to when there was no reinforcement. At this time, cross-sectional losses of concrete and fireproofing layer were shown in blocks without reinforcement, but no damage was seen in the reinforced blocks.

  • 본 논문은 16비트 칼라 LCD 디스플레이 장치를 갖는 휴대용 단말기에 영상을 이용한 그래픽 사용자 인터페이스(Graphic User Interface : GUI)를 제공함에 있어 단말기의 저장 공간을 효율적으로 사용하기 위하여 대부분 비손실 영상 압축 기법을 사용하는데, 이들 압축 기법의 압축 효과를 높이기 위한 전처리 과정 방법에 대하여 기술한다. 전처리 과정은 일반적인 칼라 영상의 각 8비트로 구성된 R, G, B 컴포넌트를 16비트로 구성된 RGB 비트 수에 맞도록 원 영상의 칼라를 조정, 16비트로 축소된 칼라 영상에서 사용된 칼라 수를 계산하는 단계 칼라 수가 사용자가 입력한 칼라수의 임계값 보다 작은 경우 인덱스 칼라 이미지를 만드는 단계, 인덱스화된 영상과 칼라 수가 임계값 보다 큰 경우 16비트 칼라 영상을 대상으로 영상을 겹치지 않게 분할하는 단계 분할된 영상의 각 블록 단위로 Run의 평균 개수가 가장 많은 스캐닝 방법을 결정하는 단계 그리고 스케닝 순서에 따른 기존의 비손실 압축 기법을 적용의 순으로 이루어진다. 본 논문에서 기술한 전처리 단계를 거친 영상을 JPEG-LS에 적용하였을 경우 동일한 영상에서 약 $10{\sim}20%$의 압축 효율을 얻을 수 있었다.

The Effectiveness of Ultrasound-Guided Thoracic Paravertebral Block for Percutaneous Radiofrequency Ablation of Hepatic Tumors: A Pilot Study (간종양의 경피적 고주파 열치료에서 초음파 유도하 흉부 방척추블록의 효용성: 예비 연구)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of thoracic paravertebral block (TPVB) for management of pain during and after percutaneous radiofrequency ablation (RFA) of hepatic tumor. Materials and Methods: All patients were divided into non-TPVB (4 patients, 4 sessions of RFA for 4 tumors) and TPVB group (5 patients, 7 sessions of RFAs for 7 tumors). Ultrasound (US)-guided TPVB was performed at T7 level. The 15 mL of 0.375% ropivacaine was injected into right paravertebral space before RFA. If patients complained pain and asked analgesics or experienced pain with verbal numerical rating scale (VNRS) of more than 4, fentanyl $25{\mu}g$ (up to $100{\mu}g$), pethidine 25 mg, and midazolam 0.05 mg/kg (up to 5 mg) were sequentially given intravenously during RFA. Results: Total intravenous morphine equivalence of analgesics before, during, and after RFA was 129.1 mg and 0.0 mg in non-TPVB and TPVB group, respectively. Conclusion: US-guided TPVB may be an effective and safe anesthetic method for decreasing or eliminating pain during and after RFA for hepatic tumor and helpful in decreasing the usage of opioids.

  • Metaverse is at the center of heated debates in many areas recently. Coupled with real world, metaverse is extending its domain into social and cultural activities in addition to economic value creation as untact activities increase. Global companies are investing in R&D for metaverse. The reason is that metaverse is supposed to create new value by converging virtual and real worlds thanks to technology advancement such as AI, big data, 3D graphic, 5G, cloud computing, etc. Thus, innovative changes are expected in the economic, social and cultural areas. However, there are many problems to be solved yet for connecting virtual world and real one. Also, epoch-making development of products and services should be done for realistic experience and profit creation using virtual space in various industries beyond untact social activities against pandemic situation. The essence, present condition, development and its application areas of metaverse will be analyzed, and expected problems researched so that the strategy and methodology for securing global competitiveness will be addressed in coming metaverse era.
