EMG Pattern Recognition based on Evidence Accumulation for Prosthesis Control

  • We present a method of electromyographic(EMG) pattern recognition to identify motion commands for the control of a prosthetic arm by evidence accumulation with multiple parameters. Integral absolute value, variance, autoregressive(AR) model coefficients, linear cepstrum coefficients, and adaptive cepstrum vector are extracted as feature parameters from several time segments of the EMG signals. Pattern recognition is carried out through the evidence accumulation procedure using the distances measured with reference parameters. A fuzzy mapping function is designed to transform the distances for the application of the evidence accumulation method. Results are presented to support the feasibility of the suggested approach for EMG pattern recognition.

  • This Paper presents a novel and systematic approach to a self-learning controller. The proposed controller is built on a neural network consisting of a standard back propagation (BNN) and approxinate reasoning (AR). The fuzzy inference and knowledge representation are carried out by the neural network structure and computing, instead of logic inference. An architecture similar to that used by traditional model reference adaptive control system (MRAC) is employed.

퍼지와 인공 신경망을 이용한 침입탐지시스템의 탐지 성능 비교 연구 (Comparison of Detection Performance of Intrusion Detection System Using Fuzzy and Artificial Neural Network)

  • 본 논문에서는 "퍼지 컨트롤 언어를 이용한 공격 특징 선택기반 네트워크 침입탐지 시스템"[1]과 "RNN을 이용한 공격 분류를 위한 지능형 침입탐지 시스템 모델"[2]의 성능을 비교 하였다. 이 논문에서는 KDD CUP 99 데이터 셋[3]을 이용하여 두 기법의 침입 탐지 성능을 비교하였다. KDD CUP 99 데이터 셋에는 훈련을 위한 데이터 셋과 훈련을 통해 기존의 침입을 탐지 할 수 있는 테스트 데이터 셋이 있다. 또한 훈련 데이터 및 테스트 데이터에 존재 하지 않는 침입의 유형을 탐지할 수 있는가를 테스트 할 수 있는 데이터도 존재한다. 훈련 및 테스트 데이터에서 좋은 침입탐지 성능을 보이는 두 개의 논문을 비교하였다. 비교한 결과 존재하는 침입을 탐지 하는 성능은 우수하지만 기존에 존재하지 않는 침입을 탐지 하는 성능은 부족한 부분이 있다. 공격 유형 중 DoS, Probe, R2L는 퍼지를 이용하는 것이 탐지율이 높았고, U2L은 RNN을 이용하는 것이 탐지율이 높았다.

  • 본 논문에서는 복잡하고 비선형적인 시스템을 위하여 최적 면역 알고리즘의 개선된 클론선택에 기반을 둔 최적FNN 설계방법을 제안한다. FNN은 퍼지추론의 간략 추론과 학습방법으로는 오류역전파 알고리즘을 하였고 멤버쉽함수의 파라미터, 학습률 및 모멘텀 계수들을 선정하기 위하여 개선된 클론 선택을 사용하는 방법을 도입하였다. 제안한 알고리즘은 생체의 면역반응에 기초를 둔 면역알고리즘의 클론선택을 기본으로 분화율을 조절하여 성능을 개선하였다. 그 과정을 통하여 다양한 항체들을 생성하고 목적함수나 제한조건과 같은 항원들에 대하여 가장 높은 친화도를 가지는 항체를 최적 항체로 선택하였다. 제안된 알고리즘의 성능을 평가하기 위하여 가스로공정과 교통경로선택 공정을 사용한다.

Safety of Workers in Indian Mines: Study, Analysis, and Prediction

  • Background: The mining industry is known worldwide for its highly risky and hazardous working environment. Technological advancement in ore extraction techniques for proliferation of production levels has caused further concern for safety in this industry. Research so far in the area of safety has revealed that the majority of incidents in hazardous industry take place because of human error, the control of which would enhance safety levels in working sites to a considerable extent. Methods: The present work focuses upon the analysis of human factors such as unsafe acts, preconditions for unsafe acts, unsafe leadership, and organizational influences. A modified human factor analysis and classification system (HFACS) was adopted and an accident predictive fuzzy reasoning approach (FRA)-based system was developed to predict the likelihood of accidents for manganese mines in India, using analysis of factors such as age, experience of worker, shift of work, etc. Results: The outcome of the analysis indicated that skill-based errors are most critical and require immediate attention for mitigation. The FRA-based accident prediction system developed gives an outcome as an indicative risk score associated with the identified accident-prone situation, based upon which a suitable plan for mitigation can be developed. Conclusion: Unsafe acts of the worker are the most critical human factors identified to be controlled on priority basis. A significant association of factors (namely age, experience of the worker, and shift of work) with unsafe acts performed by the operator is identified based upon which the FRA-based accident prediction model is proposed.

  • This study proposes the recycling of MVS as a value-added product for the removal of phosphate from aqueous solutions. By comparing the phosphate adsorption capacity of each calcined adsorbent at each temperature of MVS, it was determined that the optimal heat treatment temperature of MVS to improve the phosphate adsorption capacity was 800 ℃. MVS-800 suggests an adsorption mechanism through calcium phosphate precipitation. Subsequent kinetic studies with MVS-800 showed that the PFO model was more appropriate than the PSO model. In the equilibrium adsorption experiment, through the analysis of Langmuir and Freundlich models, Langmuir can provide a more appropriate explanation for the phosphate adsorption of MVS-800. This means that the adsorption of phosphate by MVS-800 is uniform over all surfaces and the adsorption consists of a single layer. Thermodynamic analysis of thermally activated MVS-800 shows that phosphate adsorption is an endothermic and involuntary reaction. MVS-800 has the highest phosphate adsorption capacity under low pH conditions. The presence of anions in phosphate adsorption reduces the phosphate adsorption capacity of MVS-800 in the order of CO 3 2-, SO 4 2-, NO 3- and Cl-. Based on experimental data to date, MVS-800 is an environmentally friendly adsorbent for recycling waste resources and is considered to be an adsorbent with high adsorption capacity for removing phosphates from aqueous solutions. This paper combines the advantages of gray predictor and AI fuzzy. The gray predictor can be used to predict whether the bear point exceeds the allowable deviation range, and then perform appropriate control corrections to accelerate the bear point to return to the boundary layer and achieve.

Face Detection for Automatic Avatar Creation by using Deformable Template and GA

  • In this paper, we propose a method to detect contours of a face, eyes, and a mouth of a person in the color image in order to make an avatar automatically. First, we use the HSI color model to exclude the effect of various light conditions, and find skin regions in the input image by using the skin color defined on HS-plane. And then, we use deformable templates and genetic algorithm (GA) to detect contours of a face, eyes, and a mouth. Deformable templates consist of B-spline curves and control point vectors. Those represent various shapes of a face, eyes and a mouth. GA is a very useful search algorithm based on the principals of natural selection and genetics. Second, the avatar is automatically created by using GA-detected contours and Fuzzy C-Means clustering (FCM). FCM is used to reduce the number of face colors. In result, we could create avatars which look like handmade caricatures representing user's identity. Our approach differs from those generated by existing methods.

선박충돌사고 위험성 제어방안에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Risk Control Measures of Ship′s Collision)

  • Ship is being operated under a highly dynamic environments and many factors are related with ship's collision and those factors are interacting. So, the analysis on ship's collision causes are very important to prepare countermeasures which will ensure the safe navigation. This study analysed the ship's collision data over the past 10 years(1991-2000), which is compiled by Korea Marine Accidents Inquiry Agency. The analysis confirmed that ‘ship's collision' is occurred most frequently and the cause is closely related with human factor. The main purpose of this study is to propose risk control measures of ship's collision. For this, the structure of human factor is analysed by the questionnaire methodology. Marine experts were surveyed based on major elements that were extracted from the human factor affecting to ship's collision. FSM has been widely adopted in modeling a dynamic system which is composed of human factors. Then, the structure analysis on the causes of ship's collision are performed using FSM. This structure model could be used in understanding and verifying the procedure of real ship's collision. Furthermore it could be used as the model to prevent ship's collision and reduce marine accidents.

  • 해난사고에 있어 운항자의 조선 실수가 큰 비중을 차지한다. 이는 항구의 여건이 크게 개선되지 않은 상태에서 선박이 점차 대형화 고속화, 그리고 항만의 물동량 증가에 따른 위험도의 증가라 볼 수 있으며, 이에 따라 연안에서의 선박의 충돌회피를 위한 자동제어에 관한 필요성이 대두되어 본 연구를 진행하였다. 본 연구는 MMG 수학모텔에 기반으로 Surge, Sway, Yaw 3자유도 운동방정식을 사용하였고, 충돌예상시점에 의한 정보(DCPA and TCPA) 를 이용하여 퍼지추론을 통한 위험도를 설정하였다. 이 방법의 설효성을 검증하기 위해 연안에서의 여러 정박지와 선박의 조우 상태에 따른 시뮬레이션을 수행하였다.

  • 많은 선박사고유형 중 하나인 선박의 충돌은 운항자의 조선실수가 그 원인의 큰 비중을 차지한다. 이는 점차 대형 고속화, 교통의 폭주화가 이루어지고 있는데도 오히려 항해사의 자질 저하에서 오는 것이라 할 수 있으며 이를 보완하기 위해 나날이 발전하는 첨단기술을 바탕으로 충돌회피에 관한 자동회피제어 시스템의 개발의 필요성이 점차 대두되고 있다. 그러한 취지에서 본 연구도 충돌회피를 위한 자동제어에 관하여 연구되었다. 본 연구는 MMG 수학모델에 기반 하여, Surge-Sway-Yaw-Roll 운동방정식을 사용하였고, 충돌위험도 설정을 위하여 퍼지이론을 사용하였으며 다수선박과 연속적으로 조우하는 상황에서도 충분한 회피가 가능하게 하였다.
