  • This paper proposes a GA and GDM-based method for removing unnecessary rules and generating relevant rules from the fuzzy rules corresponding to several fuzzy partitions. The aim of proposed method is to find a minimum set of fuzzy rules that can correctly classify all the training patterns. When the fine fuzzy partition is used with conventional methods, the number of fuzzy rules has been enormous and the performance of fuzzy inference system became low. This paper presents the application of GA as a means of finding optimal solutions over fuzzy partitions. In each rule, the antecedent part is made up the membership functions of a fuzzy set, and the consequent part is made up of a real number. The membership functions and the number of fuzzy inference rules are tuned by means of the GA, while the real numbers in the consequent parts of the rules are tuned by means of the gradient descent method. It is shown that the proposed method has improved than the performance of conventional method in formulating and solving a combinatorial optimization problem that has two objectives: to maximize the number of correctly classified patterns and to minimize the number of fuzzy rules.

  • Accuracy in maneuvering target tracking using multiple models relies upon the suit-ability of each target motion model to be used. To construct multiple models, the interacting multiple model (IMM) algorithm and the adaptive IMM (AIMM) algorithm require predefined sub-models and predetermined acceleration intervals, respectively, in consideration of the properties of maneuvers. To solve these problems, this paper proposes the GA-based IMM method as an intelligent tracking method for a maneuvering target. In the proposed method, the acceleration input is regarded as an additive process noise, a sub-model is represented as a fuzzy system to compute the time-varying variance of the overall process noise, and, to optimize the employed fuzzy system, the genetic algorithm (GA) is utilized. The simulation results show that the proposed method has a better tracking performance than the AIMM algorithm.

  • The work present in this paper deals with a navigation problem for multiple mobile robots in unknown indoor environments. The environments are completely unknown to the robots; thus, proximity sensors installed on the robots' bodies must be used to detect information about the surroundings. The environments simulated in this work are dynamic ones which contain not only static but also moving obstacles. In order to guide the robot to move along a collision-free path and reach the goal, this paper presented a navigation method based on fuzzy approach. Then genetic algorithms were applied to optimize the membership functions and rules of the fuzzy controller. The simulation results verified that the proposed method effectively addresses the mobile robot navigation problem.

  • Information retrieval must be able to search the most suitable document that user need from document set. If foretell document adaptedness by similarity degree about QL(Query Language) of document, documents that search person does not require are searched. In this paper, showed that can search the most suitable document on user's request searching document of the whole space using genetic algorithm and used knowledge-base operator to solve various model's problem.

  • Recently, as the field of cyclotron application is to be wider, to inject the beam whree the user want to is getting more important. But since it is not the easy way to describe the model equation of cyclotron, it could be operated by only operator's experiences. In this paper, we suggest the cyclotron controller using the fuzzy logic and the genetic algorithm. The proposed controller was verified in useful by applying to the cyclotron's beam line. In the experiment the measured results were obtained by VXIbus and the control algorithm was performed by LabWindows/CVI.

  • Cloud computing technology has been developing at an increasing expansion rate. Today most of firms are using this technology, making improving the quality of service one of the most important issues. To achieve this, the system must operate efficiently with less idle time and without deteriorating the customer satisfaction. This paper focuses on enhancing the efficiency of a conventional Genetic Algorithm (GA) for task scheduling in cloud computing using Fuzzy Logic (FL). This study collected a group of task schedules and assessed the quality of each task schedule with the user expectation. The work iterates the best scheduling order genetic operations to make the optimal task schedule. General GA takes considerable time to find the correct scheduling order when all the fitness function parameters are the same. GA is an intuitive approach for solving problems because it covers all possible aspects of the problem. When this approach is combined with fuzzy logic (FL), it behaves like a human brain as a problem solver from an existing database (Memory). The present scheme compares GA with and without FL. Using FL, the proposed system at a 100, 400 and 1000 sample size*5 gave 70%, 57% and 47% better improvement in the task time compared to GA.

  • In this paper, we propose the hybrid fuzzy controller(HFC) and the hybrid auto-tuning algorithm. The proposed HFC combined a PID controller with a fuzzy controller concurrently produces the better output performance such as sensitivity improvement in steady state and robustness in transient state than any other controller. In addition, a hybrid auto-tuning algorithm which consists of genetic algorithm and complex algorithm to automatically generate weighting factor, scaling factors and PID control gains optimizes the output of HFC. As an typical example of non-linear system in control theory an inverted pendulum will be controlled by the suggested HFC and illustrated the performance and applicability of this proposed method by simulation.

  • In this paper, a fuzzy model is identified and optimized using the hybrid algorithm and HCM clustering method. Here, the hybrid algorithm is carried out as the structure combined with both a genetic algorithm and the improved complex method. The one is utilized for determining the initial parameters of membership function, the other for obtaining the fine parameters of membership function. HCM clustering algorithm is used to determine the confined region of initial parameters and also to avoid overflow phenomenon during auto-tuning of hybrid algorithm. And the standard least square method is used for the identification of optimum consequence parameters of fuzzy model. Two numerical examples are shown to evaluate the performance of the proposed model.
