  • 침입감내 시스템은 오류에 의한 고장이나 악의적인 공격상황 하에서도 일정시간 필수적인 서비스를 지속시켜주는 정보보호체계로써, 국가 정보통신 기반구조 금융 국방분야 등에서 중요성이 증대되고 있다. 그러나 각 기관 및 조직에 적합한 시스템을 도입하기 위한 객관적인 평가 기준과 방법 연구가 미진한 실정이다. 이에 본 논문에서는 침입감내 시스템의 특성과 비용적 측면까지 고려한 평가항목을 정의하고, Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP : 계층분석적 의사결정) 기법과 t-준노름 퍼지적분을 이용하여 평가자 주관성에 의한 평가오류를 감소시킬 수 있는 정량적 평가방법을 제안한다.

  • 공교육 현장에서 일어나고 있는 각종 정량적 평가의 문제점을 고려하고, 학생들의 교과목 점수 외의 개별 특성을 반영하여 평가에 적용 할 수 있는 정성적 평가 기법을 제안하기 위해 지능형 퍼지논리 추론의 적응성과 가능성을 이용하는 방법론적 고찰을 연구하였다. 각 급 학교의 평가에서 정량적 점수에 추가하여 평어평가를 활용하여 개인의 정성적 특징을 반영하는 기법을 제안하고, 한편으로, 교육정책 관련 사안으로서의 실제적인 실혐 환경구축 및 구현의 어려움으로 인해 가상적인 환경에서의 실험결과를 제시하였다.

  • 각 급 학교에서는 학습이 끝난 후에 실시하는 총괄평가의 결과만으로 학습평가를 하고 있는데 이러한 평가 방식은 학습자의 학습능력의 형성과정을 고려하지 않는 결과위주의 학습평가로 볼 수 있다. 또 기존의 학습평가는 학습 수행능력을 판정하기 위한 진단평가와 학습능력의 향상 정도를 측정하기 위한 형성평가를 각기 개별적으로 수행하여 평가하기 때문에 학습 수행능력을 보다 명확하게 처리하기 곤란한 점이 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 학습자의 능력을 보다 객관적으로 평가하기 위한 방안으로 퍼지 추론을 이용하여 진단평가와 형성평가를 통합 평가할 수 있는 학습평가 방법을 제안한다.

  • A fuzzy mathematical model is presented that can be applied to support the inspection of organizations by an internal or external evaluation group. The model offers the opportunity to deal with the situation of common practice in which such evaluations are considered as a time series rather than single events. A hypothetical but realistic example is given to illustrate the computational procedure involved.

  • A learning control method is proposed in this paper, using a knowledge base which contains control rules, data, and patterns of the past experience of a plant. The knowledge for plant control is retrieved from measurement data during operation and continually modified after control performance evaluation. A control method is proposed using tinually modified after control performance evaluation. A control method is proposed using fuzzy model of the plant and a recursive statistic decision method of fuzzy subset for control rule generation. Also, the resulting knowledge-based control algorithm has been applied to aprocess and its performance improvement and proper generation of appropriate control rules have been verified.

Passport Recognition using Fuzzy Binarization and Enhanced Fuzzy RBF Network

  • Today, an automatic and accurate processing using computer is essential because of the rapid increase of travelers. The determination of forged passports plays an important role in the immigration control system. Hence, as the preprocessing phase for the determination of forged passports, this paper proposes a novel method for the recognition of passports based on the fuzzy binarization and the fuzzy RBF network. First, for the extraction of individual codes for recognizing, this paper targets code sequence blocks including individual codes by applying Sobel masking, horizontal smearing and a contour tracking algorithm on the passport image. Then the proposed method binarizes the extracted blocks using fuzzy binarization based on the trapezoid type membership function. Then, as the last step, individual codes are recovered and extracted from the binarized areas by applying CDM masking and vertical smearing. This paper also proposes an enhanced fuzzy RBF network that adapts the enhanced fuzzy ART network for the middle layer. This network is applied to the recognition of individual codes. The results of the experiments for performance evaluation on the real passport images showed that the proposed method has the better performance compared with other approaches.

Cpk Index Estimation under Tw (the weakest t-norm)-based Fuzzy Arithmetic Operations

  • The measurement of performance of a process considering both the location and the dispersion of information about the process is referred to as the process capacity indices (PCIs) of interest, $C_{pk}$. This information is presented by the mean and standard deviation of the producing process. Linguistic variables are used to express the evaluation of the quality of a product. Consequently, $C_{pk}$ is defined with fuzzy numbers. Lee [Eur. J. Oper. Res. 129(2001) 683-688] constructed the definition of the $C_{pk}$ index estimation presented by fuzzy numbers and approximated its membership function using the "min" - norm based Zadeh's extension principle of fuzzy sets. However, Lee's result was shown to be invalid by Hong [Eur. J. Oper. Res. 158(2004) 529-532]. It is well known that $T_w$ (the weakest t-norm)-based addition and multiplication preserve the shape of L-R fuzzy numbers. In this paper, we allow that the fuzzy numbers are of L-R type. The object of the present study is to propose a new method to calculate the $C_{pk}$ index under $T_w-based$ fuzzy arithmetic operations.

  • In this study, an expert system was developed to predict the safety of tunnel and choose proper tunnel reinforcement system using fuzzy quantification theory and fuzzy inference rule based on tunnel information database. The expert system developed in this study have two main parts named pre-module and post-module. Pre-module decides tunnel information imput items based on the tunnel face mapping information which can be easily obtained in-situ site. Then, using fuzzy quantification theory II, fuzzy membership function is composed and tunnel safety level is inferred through this membership function. The comparison result between the predicted reinforcement system level and measured ones was very similar. In-situ data were obtained in three tunnel sites including subway tunnel under Han river, This system will be very helpful to make the most of in-situ data and suggest proper applicability of tunnel reinforcement system developing more resonable tunnel support method from dependance of some experienced experts for the absent of guide.

Fuzzy Logic in Nuclear Safety Issues

  • The Belgian Nuclear Research Centre(SCK${\cdot}$CEN) has been a pioneer of the peaceful uses of nuclear energy after over forty years of existence. Recently, SCK${\cdot}$CEN's financial support of doctoral and postdoctoral research in close collaboration with universities has been a vital ingredient for securing a quality profile committed to the pursuit of execllence. FLINS, Fuzzy Logic and Intelligent technologies in Nuclear Science, was initially built within one of the postdoctoral research project at SCK${\cdot}$CEN. Among SCK${\cdot}$CEN's activities which will have an important impact on its scientific future, the application of fuzzy logic and intelligent technologies in nuclear science and engineering opens new domains in radiation protection, safety assessment, human reliability, nuclear reactor control, waste and disposal, etc. In this paper, we review the available literature on fuzzy logic in nuclear applications. We then present the initiative of R&D on fuzzy logic applications at SCK${\cdot}$CEN, namely, (1) safety control for a nuclear reactor, and (2) a safety evaluation model for nuclear transmission lines. By these two examples of nuclear applications, we illustrate the potential use of fuzzy logic in nuclear safety issues.
