  • Now days, the marketing environment is rapidly changed. Therefore, a lot of companies try to reduce production cost. Especially, Design is a important activities in new product development. While the concepts of design for manufacturable and concurrent engineering have made significant advances in integrating the design function with other areas in the firm. There are still major gaps in timely and accurate costing information available to designers. Inappropriate design could result in high redesign cost and delay in product relation. The generation of design and improvement is a time-consuming and mentally exhaustion process. It involves combining design features to generate as many potential design as possible. As not all features combinations are feasible, decision-makers have to narrow down the potential solutions and subsequently select appropriate design for further development. This new study is composed of 3 steps aiming at the Low Cost Design of the product. The three steps are consisted that setting up the target Cost, estimating the current functional cost, the design of a unit's reviewing according to the priority of the difference between the target cost and the functional cost.

A Resource-Constrained Scheduling Algorithm for High Level Synthesis (상위레벨 회로합성을 위한 자원제한 스케줄링 알고리즘)

  • Scheduling for digital system synthesis is assigning each operation in a control/data flow graph(CDFG) to a specific control step without violating precedence relation. It is one of the most important tasks due to its direct influence on the performance of the hardware synthesized. In this paper, we propose a resource-constrained scheduling algorithm. Our algorithm first analyzes the given CDFG to determine the number of functional units of each type, then assigns each operation to a control step while satisfying the constraints. It also tries to improve the solution iteratively by adjusting the number of functional units using the results collected from the previous scheduling. Experiments were performed to test the performance of the proposed algorithm, and results are presented

Analysis of Postural Stability and Daily Energy Expenditure to Manage Tumor Patients' Functional Expectation

  • Background: Advances in surgical techniques, implant technology, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy have increased the recovery chances of patients with bone sarcomas. Accordingly, patients' expectations on life quality have also increased, highlighting the importance of objective evaluation of the functional results of reconstruction. Methods: Thirteen patients with distal femoral endoprosthesis, who had been followed for an average of 2.9 years were evaluated. Postural stability, daily energy expenditure, muscle power, and range of motion were the four parameters analyzed in this study. The Musculoskeletal Tumor Society (MSTS) score and Toronto Extremity Salvage Score (TESS) were used to assess postoperative function and examine correlations with other parameters. Results: Patients had sedentary activities in 84% of their daily lives. They exhibited a slower speed in the walk across test and a higher sway velocity in the sit-to-stand test (p = 0.005). MSTS scores were significantly correlated with the daily energy expenditure and walking speed. Conclusions: Objective functional results acquired from various clinics will provide significant data to compare reconstruction techniques, rehabilitation protocols, and surgical techniques. In this way, it will be possible to satisfy the expectations of patients that increase in relation to enhanced recovery.

  • Transposable elements (TEs) account for approximately 45% of the human genome. TEs have proliferated randomly and integrated into functional genes during hominoid radiation. They appear as right-handed B-DNA double helices and slightly elongated left-handed Z-DNAs. Human endogenous retrovirus (HERV) families are widely distributed in human chromosomes at a ratio of 8%. They contain a 5'-long terminal repeat (LTR)-gag-pol-env-3'-LTR structure. LTRs contain the U3 enhancer and promoter region, transcribed R region, and U5 region. LTRs can influence host gene expression by acting as regulatory elements. In this review, we describe the alternative promoters derived from LTR elements that overlap Z-DNA by comparing Z-hunt and DeepZ data for human functional genes. We also present evidence showing the regulatory activity of LTR elements containing Z-DNA in GSDML. Taken together, the regulatory activity of LTR elements with Z-DNA allows us to understand gene function in relation to various human diseases.

  • The input-output relation for nonlinear systems can be explicitly represented by the Volterra functional series and it is characterized by the Volterra kernels. A block diagram reduction method is proposed to determine the Volterra kernels and is compared with the direct substitution technique. The former method can significantly reduce the computational complexity.

  • In this paper, we present a remote control strategy for vehicles moving in an intelligent Vehicle Highway System(IVHS). We study a method for optimal off-line scheduling of a limited communication channel that is used for lead vehicle control in a platoon. The deviated distance from the desired trajectory is used for defining a cost functional that measures the performance of the system with communication constraints in relation to the desired system without communication constraints. The optimal communication sequence is obtained by simulations.

  • 주어진 릴레이션 스킴(relation scheme)을 이에 관련된 함수적 종속(functional dependency)들을 가지고 분해하여 Boyce-Codd 정규형(Boyce-Codd normal form)에 속하는 릴레이션 스키머(schema)로 정규화(normalization)시키는 기존의 분해 알고리즘(decomposition algorithm)은 구현해서 사용하기에 적합하지 못하다. 본 고에서는 기존의 알고리즘 구현시 발생하는 문제점을 분석하고 이런 문제점을 해결하는 방법을 제시하며, 이를 토대로 Boyce-Codd 정규형 릴레이션 스킴을 생성하는 새로운 알고리즘을 제시하고, 이 알고리즘을 UNIX 환경하에 C 언어로 구현한 후 임의의 자료를 수행하여 얻어진 릴레이션 스키머와 기존의 알고리즘에 의해 얻어진 릴레이션 스키머를 비교분석하였다.

  • In this paper, we study a kind of self-inversive polynomials in bicomplex algebra. For a bicomplex polynomial, this is the study of a relation between a kind of symmetry of its coefficients and a kind of symmetry of zeros. For our deep study, we define several new levels of self-inversivity. We prove some functional equations for standard ones, a decomposition theorem for generalized ones and a comparison theorem. Although we focus the j-conjugation in our study, our argument can be applied for other conjugations.

  • In this work, magnetic geodesics over the space of Kähler potentials are studied through a variational method for a generalized Landau-Hall functional. The magnetic geodesic equation is calculated in this setting and its relation to a perturbed complex Monge-Ampère equation is given. Lastly, the magnetic geodesic equation is considered over the special case of toric Kähler potentials over toric Kähler manifolds.
