기상 UV 그라프트 반응에 의한 고분자 필름의 표면 개질 (Surface Modification of Polymer Films by Vapor Phase Photografting of Functional Monomers)

  • 소수성 고분자 재료 표면의 친수화 처리 및 기능성 작용기 도입은 재료의 응용성을 상당히 확장할 수가 있기 때문에 중요성이 인지되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 기상 UV 그라프트 반응(vapor phase photografting)에 의해 서로 다른 이온성을 가지는 비닐계 단량체들을 PE 표면에 도입하여 표면 친수성을 향상시켰다. 이를 위해 acrylic acid(음이온성), acrylamide(중성), allylalcohol(중성), allylamine(양이온성) N,N-dimethyl aminopropyl acrylamide(양이온성) 등 서로 다른 기능성 작용기를 갖는 친수성 단량체들을 본 실험실에서 고안한 기상 UV 그라프트 반응장치를 이용하여 기체상태에서 PE 표면에 도입하였다. 이들 단량체들이 도입된 PE 표면을 물 접촉각 측정과 ATR-FTIR을 이용하여 분석한 결과, 각 기능성 단량체들이 효과적으로 PE 표면에 그라프트되어 표면의 친수성이 향상되었음을 확인할 수 있었다. 본 연구에 사용한 기상 UV 그라프트 반응은 고분자 표면에 다양한 작용기를 도입하여 표면을 개질할 수 있는 효과적인 방법으로 생각되어진다.

Compatibility of POSS Composites with Silicone Monomers and Application to Contact Lenses Material

  • This research was conducted to analyze the compatibility of used monomers and produce the high functional contact lens material containing silicone monomers. Silicone monomer (Sil-OH), Trimethylsilylmethacrylate (TSMA) were used as additives for the basic combination of Polyhedral Oligomeric Silsesquioxane (POSS), methyl methacrylate (MMA) and methyl acrylate (MA). And also, the materials were copolymerized with ethylene glycol dimethacrylate (EGDMA) as the cross-linking agent, AIBN (thermal polymerization initiator) as the initiator. It is judged that the fabricated lenses of all combinations are optically excellent and thus used monomers have good compatibility. Measurement of the optical and physical characteristics of the manufactured hydrophilic lens material were varied in each case. Especially TSMA with POSS increases the oxygen permeability and Sil-OH with POSS increases the wettability by the addition of Sil-OH. These materials were considered to have compatibility each other, so it can be used in functional contact lens material.

  • BA와 MMA 그리고 1$\sim$5 wt%/monomer의 다양한 관능성 단량체(AA, 2-HEMA, GMA, AAm)를 사용하여 수용성 아크릴계 점착제를 중합하였다. 점착박리강도를 향상시키기 위해 대기압 평판형 플라즈마 전처리 방식을 피착제에 사용하였다. 관능성 단량체 종류에 따라 AA>2-HEMA>GMA>AAm의 순으로 높은 점착박리강도를 나타내었다. 유지력은 관능성 단량체의 함량이 증가함에 따라 열적 성질이 증가하여 전체적으로 AA>AAm>GMA>2-HEMA순으로 우수한 유지력을 나타내었다. 피착면에 평판형 플라즈마 전처리 방식을 적용한 결과 AA 9.1%, 2-HEMA 9.4%, GMA 9.4%, AAm 1.8%의 후기점착박리강도 증가를 확인할 수 있었다. 결론적으로, 다양한 관능성 단량체와 플라즈마 표면 처리법을 사용하여 점착박리강도, 유지력과 같은 기계적 물성을 조절할 수 있었다.

분자화약 구조를 포함하는 옥시란계 에너지화 단량체의 설계 및 합성 (Design and Synthesis of Novel Energetic Oxirane Monomers Containing a Molecular Explosive Moiety)

  • Energetic monomers with new design concept were synthesized for energetic prepolymers. Novel energetic monomers consisted of ring-opening polymerizable oxirane and a molecular explosive moiety instead of small explosophores as energetic functional groups. According to the design concept, glycidyl dinitroazetidine (GDNAZ) and glycidyl nitroazetidinol(GNAZO) energetic monomers were synthesized, respectively, and characterized by NMR, EA and GC MS. Heat of formation and detonation performance were calculated by theoretical method to evaluate energy performance of these novel energetic monomers. The result revealed that GDANZ and GNAZO possessed high potential as new energetic monomers for synthesizing energetic prepolymers and binders in PBXs.

아크릴에멀젼 점착제에 대한 기능성 단량체의 영향 (Effect of Functional Monomers on Pressure-sensitive Adhesives of Acrylic Emulsion)

  • Butylacylate (BA)와 2-Ethylhexylacrylate (2-EHA)를 토대로 하여 수성 아크릴 점착제를 제조함에 있어서 경질성(rigidity)을 부여 하기 위하여 methyl methacrylate (MMA)를 부가 단량체로 사용하였다. 기능성 단량체의 영향을 파악하기 위하여 여러가지 기능성 단량체를 각각 1, 2, 3%를 사용하여 유화 중합(emulsion polymerization)을 하였다. 2-acrylamido-2-methyl-1-propanesulfonate acid를 사용한 아크릴 에멀젼 점착제가 접착물성이 가장 좋았다. Acrylic acid와 dimethyl-2-imidazlidon acrylate를 포함하는 아크릴 에멀젼 점착제는 물성은 좋으나 응집력이 약해 점착력 시험 중에 피착체로의 전이가 일어나는 것을 볼 수 있었다. 2-acrylamido-2-methyl-1-propanesulfonate acid의 함량이 많아질수록 접착력이 좋아졌으나 7 w% 이상에서는 점착력이 저하되는 것을 볼 수가 있었다.

Helical Compounds Forming Gas-Phase Dimers: A Dispersion-corrected Density Functional Investigation

  • Chiral discrimination is the ability to distinguish one enantiomeric form over another. The differential binding interaction between two molecules with the same helicity and those with the opposite helicity was investigated by using dispersion-corrected density functional theory. [5]helicene, tetrahydro[5]helicene and the polar D-${\pi}$-A compounds, 3,12-dimethoxy-7,8-dicyano-[5]helicene and 3,12-dimethoxy-7,8-dicyano-tetrahydro[5]helicene were the monomers considered in this study. In gas phase, the dimeric interaction from two helical molecules with the opposite handedness is greater than from those with the same handedness. The stable configurations of such dimers were identified. The most stable configuration tends to be the one with maximum contact between monomers.

프로페닐 에테르 단량체들의 합성과 광중합 특성 (Synthesis and Photopolymerization Characterization of Propenyl Ether Monomers)

  • 양이온계 광중합에 적용 가능한 propenyl ether 형태의 단량체들을 mono 및 di-functional alcohol과 allyl bromide의 축합반응으로 합성하였다. 이들 단량체들을 양이온 광개시제와 혼용하여 코팅조성물을 제조하여 광경화 반응성을 조사하였다. 그 결과 mono propenyl ether 형태인((prop-1-en-1-yloxy)methyl)benzene (POMB)는 dipropenyl ether 계인 1,4-bis(prop-1-en-1-yloxy) benzene (BPOB) 비교하여 초기 중합 속도는 10.2로 상대적으로 낮게 나타났으나 1.5mol%의 광개시제를 포합한 배합물에서는 90초이내에 거의 정량적으로 반응하였다. 또한 긴알킬기를 갖는 술폰산 염계 광개시제들은 단량체들에 빠른 용해 특성을 나타내었고 산성도가 높은 광개시제인(4-n-decyloxyphenyl)diphenylsulfonium hexafluoroantimonate(DPSA)와 (4-n-decyloxyphenyl) diphenylsulfonium triflate (DPST)를 사용한 경우 비교적 높은 중합속도와 전환율을 나타내었다.

Chemical Modification of Isotactic Polypropylene by Melt Blending

  • The branched polypropylene (b-PP) was prepared by melt blending process with initiator, antioxidant, and functional monomers to improve the melt strength through the melt grafting. The melt flow index (MFI) of the b-PP was increased with increasing the initiator content. On the introduction of the alkylamine as the branching agents the MFI of the b-PP was increased, while that of the b-PP with the pentaerythritol triacrylate (PT) was decreased. It may be caused by the chain scission of the i-PP backbone due to the reduced thermal stability of the i-PP on the melt blending. The MFI of the b-PP without the antioxidant was increased due to the chain scission occurred during the melt processing, while on the introduction of the antioxidant, the MFI of the b-PP was decreased. The crystallization temperature of the b-PP was higher than that of PP, which was attributed to the branched chain structure. It was found that the PT was the most effective functional monomers for enhancing the melt properties of the b-PP.

  • The development of metal catalysts that can polymerize or copolymerize "polar" $Ch_2=CHX$ monomers by insertion mechanisms would significantly expand the scope of metal-catalyzed polymerization and enable the synthesis of new materials with enhanced properties. We have studied the reactions of single-site olefin polymerization catalysts with vinyl chloride, acrylonitrile, and vinyl ethers, in order to probe monomer coordination trends, insertion rates and regioselectivity, and the structures and reactivity of metal alkyls that contain functional groups on the alpha and beta positions of the alkyl chain. These studies provide insights to the key issues that underlie the "polar monomer" problem. Copolymerization of olefins and selected vinyl ethers has been achieved.

Evaluation of New Selective Molecularly Imprinted Polymers for the Extraction of Resveratrol from Polygonum Cuspidatum

  • Four different molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) were prepared using resveratrol as the template, methacrylic acid (MAA) or acrylamide (AA) as functional monomers, 2,2-azobisisobutyronitrile (AIBN) as the initiator, and thermo- or photo-induced polymerization. The ability of the different polymers to rebind selectively not only the template but also other phenols was evaluated. In parallel, the influence of the different templates and functional monomers used during polymer syntheses on the performance of the obtained MIPs was also studied through different rebinding experiments. The binding ability and selectivity of the polymer were studied by static balance method and Scatchard analysis. It was concluded that AA-based polymer by photo-induced polymerization presents the best properties to be used as a selective absorbent for the extraction of resveratrol.
