비금속광물 분체의 기능성 건축소재화 특성 (A Preparation and Characteristics of Functional rchitecture Materials Made frm Non-metallic Minerals)

  • 최근 들어 비금속광물의 구조적 특성을 이용한 활용분야가 매우 다양해지고 있다. 특히 판상광물은 차폐(은폐)력이 매우 우수하고, 층간특성을 이용한 흡착 및 저장특성이 매우 우수하다. 본 연구에서는 이와 같은 판상광물의 기본의 특성에 또 다른 기능성 물질을 흡착시킴으로써 부가적인 새로운 기능성을 갖는 친환경성 건축소재를 개발하고자 천연산 인상흑연 및 견운모를 기능성 모소재로 사용하고 미립화 및 ABDM(Alkyl Benzyle Demethyle Ammonium Chloride)으로 흑연입자 표면을 항균처리를 하였다. 항균처리를 위한 흡착은 전위차를 이용한 1차 흡착과 ABDM 상호간의 steric 작용에 의한 2차 흡착으로 완전 이중층이 형성되어 충분한 항균효과를 나타낼 수 있었다. 제조된 기능성 재료를 모르타르로 제조하여 다양한 기능성을 측정한 결과 세균감소율 99.7% 이상과 80% 이상의 암모니아 가스 흡착(탈취) 효과 및 95% 이상의 전자파 차폐율과 5% 정도의 열저장(축열, 잠열) 효과를 갖는 것으로 나타났다.

기록관, 도서관, 박물관의 기능을 융합한 라키비움의 기능 계획 (Functional Planning of Larchiveum that Integrates the Functions of Archives, Libraries and Museums)

  • 최근 해외에서 대표적인 기록관과 도서관이 통합되거나 협력하는 사례가 늘면서, 기록관, 도서관, 박물관 등 문화정보기관의 통합과 복합정보서비스에 대한 연구와 논의들이 진행되고 있다. 동시에 국내에서는 지방기록관의 시설이 열악한 현실에서, 박물관의 콘텐츠 확충을 위한 고민과 도서관 기능의 다양화를 위한 시도는 이들 기관들을 통합한 문화정보센터의 필요성을 제기하고 있다. 이러한 가운데 기록관과 도서관, 박물관의 기능을 통합한 '라키비움'의 개념이 제시되고, 국내에서도 라키비움에 대한 연구가 진행되기 시작하였다. 그러나 실제 라키비움이 현실화된 바는 없으므로 이에 관한 구체적인 실현 방법에 대한 논의가 필요하다. 이에 본 연구는 기록관, 도서관, 박물관의 기능적 특성과 요건을 분석하고, 이를 활용하여 라키비움의 기능 요건을 설정하여 공간 기획을 위한 기능 계획을 수립하였으며, 이의 절차를 제안하였다.

FCAnalyzer: A Functional Clustering Analysis Tool for Predicted Transcription Regulatory Elements and Gene Ontology Terms

  • Numerous studies have reported that genes with similar expression patterns are co-regulated. From gene expression data, we have assumed that genes having similar expression pattern would share similar transcription factor binding sites (TFBSs). These function as the binding regions for transcription factors (TFs) and thereby regulate gene expression. In this context, various analysis tools have been developed. However, they have shortcomings in the combined analysis of expression patterns and significant TFBSs and in the functional analysis of target genes of significantly overrepresented putative regulators. In this study, we present a web-based A Functional Clustering Analysis Tool for Predicted Transcription Regulatory Elements and Gene Ontology Terms (FCAnalyzer). This system integrates microarray clustering data with similar expression patterns, and TFBS data in each cluster. FCAnalyzer is designed to perform two independent clustering procedures. The first process clusters gene expression profiles using the K-means clustering method, and the second process clusters predicted TFBSs in the upstream region of previously clustered genes using the hierarchical biclustering method for simultaneous grouping of genes and samples. This system offers retrieved information for predicted TFBSs in each cluster using $Match^{TM}$ in the TRANSFAC database. We used gene ontology term analysis for functional annotation of genes in the same cluster. We also provide the user with a combinatorial TFBS analysis of TFBS pairs. The enrichment of TFBS analysis and GO term analysis is statistically by the calculation of P values based on Fisher’s exact test, hypergeometric distribution and Bonferroni correction. FCAnalyzer is a web-based, user-friendly functional clustering analysis system that facilitates the transcriptional regulatory analysis of co-expressed genes. This system presents the analyses of clustered genes, significant TFBSs, significantly enriched TFBS combinations, their target genes and TFBS-TF pairs.

반복적인 리듬 특성을 지닌 영화음악의 고찰 - 필립 글래스(Philip Glass)의 영화음악에 관한 미학적, 기능적 의미를 중심으로 - (Reconsideration of Film Music with Repetitive Rhythm Characteristics - Focusing on the Aesthetic and Functional Meaning of Philip Glass's Film Music -)

  • 본 연구는 필립 글래스의 미니멀 음악이 쓰인 1980년대부터 2000년대까지의 주요 영화들 다섯 편을 대상으로 하여, 미니멀 음악의 미학적이고 영화음악으로서의 기능적인 의미에 대하여 연구하였다. 미니멀 음악은 반복적인 리듬 특성을 지니고 있으며, 미학적으로 단조로운 것이나 특정한 목적을 지양하는 것으로 이해되며, 또는 정체성의 표현으로 이해할 수도 있다. 한편으로 반복적인 리듬에 의한 무한한 지속성 의미이거나, 때로는 미묘한 변화를 수반한 반복일 수도 있다. 영화음악의 기능에 대해서는 여러 이론가들의 공통된 영화음악의 기능으로 분석하였다. 총 다섯 편에 쓰인 음악의 분석의 결과로서 필립 글래스의 미니멀 음악에 나타난 미학적 의미는 영화 스토리의 특성과 가장 관련이 깊었으며, 영화음악의 기능적 의미는 영화의 구조, 형식, 장르 등에 의하여 결정되는 경우가 많았다. 그러므로 영화의 주제와 스토리의 내용이 반복적인 리듬 특성을 지닌 영화음악의 미학적 해석에 중요한 역할을 하였다. 그리고 영화의 구조, 형식, 장르와 같은 플롯의 요소들은 영화 음악의 기능적 해석에 적지 않은 영향을 주었다고 생각한다. 영화음악의 미학적 가치는 영화의 스토리와 밀접하게 관계를 맺고, 영화음악의 기능적 의미는 영화의 형식적 요소들에 의하여 결정된 것으로 해석된다.

한옥의 건강특성과 요소에 대한 언론보도 연구 : 1960년 이후 4대 일간지 기사 내용분석 (A research on the health characteristics and the elements of Han-Ok : Contents analysis of articles of the four daily newspapers since 1960)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the trend changes of the health characteristics and the elements of Han-Ok appeared in the articles of the daily newspaper, and to provide basic information for applying to the healthy housing for the public living in modern society and furthermore the various facilities for healing. For the study, the relevant articles of 4 daily newspapers published from 1st of January in 1960 to 28th of February in 2010 were collected and analyzed. The results of the study were as follows: First, the articles about the health characteristics and the elements of Han-Ok have rapidly grown since the year of 2000. Especially, the residents' interviews, case reports and actual living condition of Han-Ok recently tend to increase. Second, the health characteristics of Han-Ok in the recent articles were focused more on the mental and social health than on the physical health. The physical health had the characteristics of the block of hazard environments, the offer of good quality environments, and the enhancements of residents' health. The mental health consisted of the psychological comfort, the sensory satisfaction and the emotional growth. There have been improvements of family relationships and the interactions with neighbors in the characteristics of social health since 2000. Third, the health elements of Han-Ok in terms of architecture and interior design were the structure, space, material, doors & windows, furniture & props, nature, and villages. The material elements were more stressed before 2000, but the spaces and the nature elements were highly focused after 2000 and the structure elements were steadily high regardless of years. Fourth, of the health elements, the structure and the material had the high effects on the physical health characteristics, on the other hand the spaces and the nature influenced more on the mental health. On-dol, Ma-dang, Dae-cheong, Ma-ru, soil, wood, Changhoji, natural environments, and doors & windows were the detail health elements which had high effects on the health characteristics of Han-Ok. For the future study, the experience based in-depth studies of the residents living in Han-Ok are suggested to grasp the actual effects of Han-Ok on the health. The professional consultations are also needed for the extracts of the health characteristics of Han-Ok and the functional elements which can be applied to the modern buildings.

마디모를 이용한 전방십자인대 기능 시뮬레이션 모델 (A Simulation Model of the ACL Function Using MADYMO)

  • A mathematical knee model was constructed using MADYMO. The purpose of this study is to present a more realistic model of the human knee to reproduce human knee motion. Knee ligaments were modeled as line elements and the surrounding muscles were considered as passive restraint elements. A calf-free-drop test was performed to validate the suggested model. A calf was dropped from the rest at about 65 degree flexed posture in the prone position. The motion data were recorded using four video cameras and then three dimensional data were acquired by Kwon3D motion analysis software. The results showed that general shapes of angular quantities were similar in both the experiment and computer simulation. Functional stability of the anterior cruciate ligament was explicitly revealed through this model.

Investigation of Splicing Quantitative Trait Loci in Arabidopsis thaliana

  • The alteration of alternative splicing patterns has an effect on the quantification of functional proteins, leading to phenotype variation. The splicing quantitative trait locus (sQTL) is one of the main genetic elements affecting splicing patterns. Here, we report the results of genome-wide sQTLs across 141 strains of Arabidopsis thaliana with publicly available next generation sequencing datasets. As a result, we found 1,694 candidate sQTLs in Arabidopsis thaliana at a false discovery rate of 0.01. Furthermore, among the candidate sQTLs, we found 25 sQTLs that overlapped with the list of previously examined trait-associated single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs). In summary, this sQTL analysis provides new insight into genetic elements affecting alternative splicing patterns in Arabidopsis thaliana and the mechanism of previously reported trait-associated SNPs.

  • The aim of this study is to extract the design vocabulary of flexibility from analyzing Steven Holl' architectural works. For this purpose, the four works were selected and the design elements like their concepts, elevations, plans, furnitures, lights, materials, and colors were analyzed. The results of this study are as follows ; First, flexible design method is shown in adaptable space planning by using system of hinged panel and multi-functional furniture of various form. Second, Windows were made a plan of the geometric partition of surface and with clear materials for expanding space to outside. Third, the changing of level and the using of the phenomenological elements like a light color, water, and materials were applied for enhancing the image of the flexible space.

Color is used as a design tool which has most powerful effect to change the nature of a space and atmosphere, As a basic study for desirable environmental color for restaurant, this is studied mainly on the following discussion points. 1) Inportance of environmental color and its role in accordance with space characteristics as restaurant. 2) The psychological effects of color in the clinetes, color conditioning of the dining ares, problem of change in the appearance of color in the selection of materials and color harmony of total environments. 3) Prior to color planning in detail , the nature and characteristics each restaurant contains and their correlation with various locational , physical , social environmental , human variables have been analyzed. And the total atmosphere of the dining area as a place where the clients finally stay has been dealt with various visual , environmental and functional problems of color about fixed elements such as the wall. the floor, the ceiling and semifixed elements such as tables, chairs, etc.
