Fun-centered HCI -Investigating the concept of Fun in Human-Computer Interaction- (재미를 위한 HCI -HCI 관점에서의 재미있는 경험에 대한 개념적 연구-)

  • For many years, the approach taken towards HCI(Human Computer Interaction) has focused on the usability of system and technology. Advances in computing and information technology has shifted the way people use and experience technology from merely using it to enjoying using it. But, there is a lack of theories to conceptualize fun and user fun experience, in the HCI. This paper describes an conceptual approach to "fun" and user's 'fun experience' in the interaction of technology. This paper defines "fun" as positive psychological energy which is produced by playing computer. And this paper provides characteristics of 'Fun experience', which are action mode, random order, free, and activated pleasant. This study provides insights into factors contributing to and influencing fun experiences and the relationships between them; symbol, newness, and vividness.

  • This study analyzed user experience elements with healing game characteristics in eight horticultural games based on Lazro's theory of four fun elements, aiming to use horticultural treatment effects as basic data for horticultural game design. The games were found to be developed around "Serious Fun" and "Easy Fun," with "Hard Fun" and "People Fun" also included. Healing games including horticultural activities were highly linked to actual horticultural activities, resulting in horticultural treatment effects. Future studies will design horticultural healing games and verify their effects based on these results.

  • 핸드폰이 단순한 커뮤니케이션 도구에서 종합 엔터테인먼트 기기로 빠르게 진화되고 있으며 이를 뒷받침 하는 하드웨어와 네트워크 기술 역시 계속 발전해 나가고 있다. 또한 핸드폰이 다양한 기능을 제공하고 휴대폰에 내장된 어플리케이션의 종류가 많아 짐에 따라 UI에도 많은 변화가 일어나고 있지만 주로 사용성을 개선하는 기능적인 개선으로 치중되고 있는 상황이다. 본 연구의 목적은 핸드폰 UI를 새로운 관점으로 접근하여 '재미'라는 요소를 접목한 실험적인 UI를 기획하고 이를 적용하는 데 있다.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between leisure experience and job-attitude and organizational citizenship behavior. And this study indicates how positive emotion affects the relationship between leisure experience and job-attitude and organizational citizenship behavior. The results from this study are as follows: First, leisure experience influenced significantly the positive emotion, the positive emotion was giving positive affection to job satisfaction, organizational commitment, and organizational citizenship behavior. Second, positive emotion mediated between leisure experience and job-attitude and organizational citizenship behavior. This study was giving us implications that positive emotion from leisure experience is more important than leisure activities themselves when we plan 'fun management'.

Effects of Fun Elements of Online Games and Self-Construals on Gamers' Flow Experience and Game Loyalty (온라인 게임의 재미 요소와 게이머의 자아성향이 게임 몰입과 충성도에 미치는 영향: 사회적 게이머와 비사회적 게이머 집단 간 비교)

  • The study examined how the fun elements of online games and gamers' self-construals affected their flow experience and loyalty to games, focusing on the comparison between the social gamers and the asocial gamers. Results showed that, first, there were significant differences between the two groups in the respective fun elements of achievement, challenge, and closeness; second, differences of gamers' self-construals were found in game environment rather than lifeworld environment; third, the flow experience and game loyalty of social gamers were higher than those of asocial gamers; finally, there were significant differences between the two groups in the effects of the fun elements and gamers' self-construals on their flow experience and game loyalty.

  • This study empirically studied the effect of the characteristics of consumer experience in a virtual store in the metaverse of a fashion brand on consumers' perceived utility and self-congruence for the medium. As a result of the analysis, all three factors (reality, ubiquity, anonymity) of the fashion brand metaverse virtual reality store experience had a significant positive effect on the perceived avatar consistency. On the other hand, realism and ubiquity had a significant positive effect on perceived fun, but the effect of anonymity on perceived fun was not significant. On the other hand, perceived avatar identity was found to have a significant positive effect on perceived consumer-brand self-congruence. Finally, it was found that the perceived fun in the metaverse fashion brand virtual reality store had a statistically significant positive effect on perceived consumer-brand self-congruence.

  • Game is an excellent media to easily access and immerse for most people. According to these characteristics, many games which are combined game's fun with original educational purpose have been developing in various fields. In case of developing the game, game designer should balance game's fun and educational purpose in each filed. In this paper, we analyze psychotherapy games to improve accessibility of treatment and continuance of treatment sessions in face-to-face treatment by particularly fun factors in commercial games. And, then we present methods to increase fun of psychotherapy game. This paper can help psychotherapy game developers to increase game experience.

  • Virtual world is the 3D graphical interactive environment that networked by electronic communications. Virtual Worlds offered flow experience for a long time to their users. They blur the boundaries of work and play, so bring out the concept of Fun Labor. If we can accept the principle of equivalence between Fun Labor and Real Labor, the Fun Labor may be one of the solutions of the large unemployment problem in the information society. And the Fun Labor is the new type of labor that corresponds the subjectivity of users who want interesting experience as much as they spend money and times. This situation means that the users of Virtual worlds are structuring the identities as the Residents who act the Fun Labor. It'll be very important to examine the social effects of this situation.

  • The purpose of this study is to phenomenological analyze the fun experience of G-Golf Tour players. A total of 3 male and 3 female professional golfers who are currently participate in G-Golf Tour are selected by snow-ball sampling. Data was collected from interviews and participant observation, With this data, coding was done as first step and group categorization was done as second step in order to achieve the right result from meaningful analyzing. In order to approve the adequate of this study, the peer review was done by one qualitative research specialist and two candidates of Ph.D. The motivation of G-Tour participation, the notification changing of G-Tour, the addiction of G-Tour, the fun factor of G-Tour were drawn as the results, and the media exposure, personal relations, and skill improvement were drawn as the sub-factors of fun experience of G-Tour.
