Basic study on correction method of measured earthing resistance by 4-potential method

  • The full of potential method is generally used for measuring the earthing-resistance. This method needs two auxiliary electrodes and it is required that two auxiliary electrodes are placed at enough distances from the earthing electrode, e.g. building foundation. However, in urban area there is not enough space for taking measurement. So, it is very difficult to measure the earth resistance precisely. However, there is the 4- potential method when it stand on the theory of the full of potential method. It is the purpose of this paper to basic study on correction method of measured earthing resistance by 4-potential method.

  • A ground treatment work for Hongkong container terminal yard is reported as a case study of site formation work with full dredging and replacement method. Ground treatment work adopting surcharge and deep compaction (vibroflotation) were applied to improve the sand creep potential. The sand creep parameter of 0 25% was assumed in design stage and improved up to 0.05% and 0.02% after surcharge and deep compaction respectively

등각사상방법을 이용한 도체로 보강된 결합 도파 선로의 정전기장과 전위 분포 해석 (Analysis of Electrostatic Field and Potential Distributions in Conductor-Backed Coupled Coplanar Waveguide Using Conformal Mapping Method)

  • 본 논문에서는 등각사상 방법(conformal mapping method)을 사용하여 도체로 보강된 결합 도파 선로(conductor-backed coupled coplanar waveguide)의 정전기장 분포와 전위 분포를 계산하는 해석적인 수식을 유도하였다. 그리고 유도한 수식을 사용하여 결합 도파 선로 구조 전체에 분포하는 정전기장과 전위분포를 계산하고 이를 분석하였다. 논문에서 사용한 방법은 반복계산 과정을 필요로 하지 않으므로 이를 사용하면 전파해석방법(full-wave analysis method)보다 전기장분포를 빠르고 간편하게 계산할 수 있다. 이 방법은 결합기, 필터, 마이크로스트립 안테나와 같은 결합선로를 사용한 마이크로파집적회로의 분석에 폭넓게 응용될 수 있다.

An Investigation on Application of Experimental Design and Linear Regression Technique to Predict Pitting Potential of Stainless Steel

  • This study using experimental design and linear regression technique was implemented in order to predict the pitting potential of stainless steel in marine environments, with the target materials being AL-6XN and STS 316L. The various variables (inputs) which affect stainless steel's pitting potential included the pitting resistance equivalent number (PRNE), temperature, pH, Cl- concentration, sulfate levels, and nitrate levels. Among them, significant factors affecting pitting potential were chosen through an experimental design method (screening design, full factor design, analysis of variance). The potentiodynamic polarization test was performed based on the experimental design, including significant factor levels. From these testing methods, a total 32 polarization curves were obtained, which were used as training data for the linear regression model. As a result of the model's validation, it showed an acceptable prediction performance, which was statistically significant within the 95% confidence level. The linear regression model based on the full factorial design and ANOVA also showed a high confidence level in the prediction of pitting potential. This study confirmed the possibility to predict the pitting potential of stainless steel according to various variables used with experimental linear regression design.

  • 접지저항의 측정은 접지계통의 접지성능이 적정한가를 평가하기 위한 가장 기본적이고 중요한 작업이라고 할 수 있다. 그러나 실제 현장에서, 특히 접지극의 크기가 큰 경우일수록 접지저항을 정확히 측정하기란 쉽지 않은데, 이는 정확한 접지전위 측정을 위한 기준전위 점을 찾기가 힘들기 때문이다. 본 논문에서는 접지극 주변에서 측정한 지표면전위를 분석하여 기준전위 점의 위치를 정확히 식별하는 방법과 그 정당성을 제시하였다.

A Fast Poisson Solver of Second-Order Accuracy for Isolated Systems in Three-Dimensional Cartesian and Cylindrical Coordinates

  • We present an accurate and efficient method to calculate the gravitational potential of an isolated system in three-dimensional Cartesian and cylindrical coordinates subject to vacuum (open) boundary conditions. Our method consists of two parts: an interior solver and a boundary solver. The interior solver adopts an eigenfunction expansion method together with a tridiagonal matrix solver to solve the Poisson equation subject to the zero boundary condition. The boundary solver employs James's method to calculate the boundary potential due to the screening charges required to keep the zero boundary condition for the interior solver. A full computation of gravitational potential requires running the interior solver twice and the boundary solver once. We develop a method to compute the discrete Green's function in cylindrical coordinates, which is an integral part of the James algorithm to maintain second-order accuracy. We implement our method in the {\tt Athena++} magnetohydrodynamics code, and perform various tests to check that our solver is second-order accurate and exhibits good parallel performance.

제약적 NLS 방법을 이용한 출시 초기 신제품의 중장기 수요 예측 방안 (Constrained NLS Method for Long-term Forecasting with Short-term Demand Data of a New Product)

  • A long-term forecasting method for a new product in early stage of diffusion is proposed. The method includes a constrained non-linear least square estimation with the logistic diffusion model. The constraints would be critical market informations such as market potential, peak point, and take-off. Findings on 20 cases having almost full life cycle are that (i) combining any market information improves the forecasting accuracy, (ii) market potential is the most stable information, and (iii) peak point and take-off information have negative effect in case of overestimation.

A New Method to Control the Coverage of Irreversibly Adsorbing Sb on Au Electrode

  • We report on the development of a new method to control the coverage of a metal film prepared with immersion method. An Sb species in solution adsorbed irreversibly at an open circuit potential (∼0.2 V) as an oxygenous Sb(Ⅲ) on a clean Au electrode, and the adsorbates showed voltammetric features in the potential range from 0.1 V to - 0.4 V. The full coverage of the Sb adsorbates was ∼0.45. On the contrary, the Sb species in solution did not adsorb at all on iodine-covered Au electrode surfaces, when the iodine coverages were more than 0.25. As the iodine coverage decreased below 0.25, however, the irreversible adsorption of Sb took place and the coverage of Sb increased accordingly. This electrochemical behavior has been interpreted as the penetration of the adsorbing Sb species in solution through open spaces among the iodine adlattices of coverages less than 0.25. With the manipulation of the iodine coverage, the controllable range of Sb coverage was from 0 to 0.45, i.e. the full coverage of Sb. In addition, the reversible deposition of Sb on an iodine-saturated Au electrode with voltammetric scan has been observed, which is contrasted with the adsorptive behavior of Sb on the clean Au electrode.

정확한 Closed-Form 그린함수를 이용한 코플래너 도파로 불연속 해석 (Analysis of Coplanar Waveguide Discontinuities Using Accurate Closed-Form Green's function)

  • 실수축 상의 적분 방법에 의한 정확한 closed-form 그린함수를 이용하여 코플래너 도파로의 불연속에 대한 공간영역 full-wave 해석을 하였다. MPIE(Mixed Potential Integral Equation)를 풀기 위한 수치계산 방법으로는 삼각형 요소를 이용한 갤러킨 방법을 사용하였다. 경계면에서 삼각형 요소상의 기저함수로는 선형함수를 사용하였으며, 관측점과 전원점이 일치하는 특이점 근방의 적분 계산을 위해 면적분을 선적분 형태로 바꾸어 피적분 함수의 특이점이 사라지도록 하는 해석적인 방법을 사용하였다. 실수축 적분방법에 의한 그린함수를 이용함으로써 불연속에 대한 정확한 특성을 구하였다.
