With the trend of increasing needs for high-technology from customer and tightening regulation on automotive fuel efficiency and safety, application of E/E system has been expanding consistently in automotive industry. Thus, demand for core elements of E/E system has been growing: micro controller, analog IC and ASIC. But, development process of automotive semiconductor hasn't been clearly established in domestic area. This research aims to present a guide and an example for construction of requirement and design development process on semiconductor based on ISO/TS 16949 that is requirement for quality management system, CMMI that has been proven in various area and ISO 26262 widely used methodology for functional safety. It is expected that the result of this research is used as guidance for construction of semiconductor development process.
We studied oxidation behaviors of anti-oxidative Y-Cr oxide coated sol on ferritic steel for application of the Fe-Cr alloys as interconnectors of planar-type Solid Oxide Fuel Cells(SOFCs). In coated$YCrO_3$on the ferritic steel, the phases of $YCrO_3$,$Cr_2O_3$and $Mn_{1.5}Cr_{1.5}O_4$on the coated surface were detected, but iron base scales were not observed after oxidation at 80$0^{\circ}C$ for 40 h. The Mn-Cr oxide scales were grown with oxidation by diffusing components in the ferritic steel from inner. The Log(ASR/T) value that expresses electrical resistance of coated$YCrO_3$on the ferritic steel was -4.57~$-4.70{omega}cm^2K^{-1}$, lower in comparison with the one of the uncoated ferritic steel,$-3.99{omega}cm^2K^{-1}$. This indicates the applicability of Fe-l6Cr alloy as interconnector materials for SOFCs.

The NOx emission characteristics of C$H_4$-Air coflow jet flames were numerically and experimentally investigated. NOx was measured using a chemiluminescent detection and calculated by the parabolic -type equation solver with a detatiled NOx chemistry. The fuel flow rate( $Q_{F}$), the diameter of mixture nozzle and the equivalence rate(Ф) were varied to discuss the EINOx of each flames at the various combustion conditions. The NOx emission index(EINOx) was introduced to quantify the NOx emission from the parametrically varied flames. The results show that Prompt EINOx increases on a logarithmic profile with increasing ${\Phi}$ and keeps nearly constant for the variation of $Q_{F}$. Thermal EINOx reaches the maximum value at around ${\Phi}$ =1.5 and then slowly decrease for ${\Phi}$ >1.5. In addition, Thermal EINOx increases with increasing $Q_{F}$, but nearly indifferent to the variation of the mixture nozzle diameter. Total EINOx also shows a peak at around ${\Phi}$ =1.5, followed by a relatively sharp decrease for 1.5< ${\Phi}$ <2.5 and increase slowly for 2.5 < ${\Phi}$ < $\infty$ The present Total EINOx trend is well explained by a combination of above Thermal and Prompt EINOx trend with the variation of ${\Phi}$ n of ${\Phi}$.
In this study, R-123 flow boiling experiments were carried out to investigate the effects of nanoparticle deposition on heater surfaces on flow critical heat flux (CHF) and boiling heat transfer. It is known that CHF enhancement by nanoparticles results from porous structures that are very similar to layers of Chalk River unidentified deposit formed on nuclear fuel rod surfaces during the reactor operation period. Although previous studies have investigated the surface effects through surface modifications, most studies are limited to pool boiling conditions, and therefore, the effects of porous surfaces on flow boiling heat transfer are still unclear. In addition, there have been only few reports on suppression of wetting for decoupled approaches of reasoning. In this study, bare and $Al_2O_3$ nanoparticle-coated surfaces were prepared for the study experiments. The CHF of each surface was measured with different mass fluxes of $1,600kg/m^2s$, $1,800kg/m^2s$, $2,100kg/m^2s$, $2,400kg/m^2s$, and $2,600kg/m^2s$. The nanoparticle-coated tube showed CHF enhancement up to 17% at a mass flux of $2,400kg/m^2s$ compared with the bare tube. The factors for CHF enhancement are related to the enhanced rewetting process derived from capillary action through porous structures built-up by nanoparticles while suppressing relative wettability effects between two sample surfaces as a highly wettable R-123 refrigerant was used as a working fluid.

This paper describes the evaluation of kinetic parameters for pyrolysis and carbon char oxidation of residual oil. The non-isothermal pyrolysis of residual oil was carried out with TGA (Thermo-Gravimetric Analyzer) at heating rate of 2, 5, 10 and $20^{\circ}C/min$ up to $800^{\circ}C$ under N2 atmosphere. The first order and nth order pyrolysis models were used to fit the experimental data, and the nth order model was turned out to follow the experimental data more precisely than the first order model. For carbon char oxidation experiment, TGA and four heating rates used in pyrolysis experiment were also adapted. The kinetic parameters for the residual carbon char particle were obtained with three char oxidation model, that is, volume reaction, grain and random pore model. Among them, the random pore model described the char oxidation behaviour quite well, compared to other two models. The non-linear regression method was used to obtain kinetic parameters for both pyrolysis and carbon char oxidation of residual oil.

TRISO coatings on $ZrO_{2}$ surrogate kernels were conducted by a fluidized-bed chemical vapor deposition (FBCVD) method. Effects of the deposition temperature and the gas flow rate on the properties of SiC layer were investigated in the TRISO-coated particles. Deposition rate of the SiC layer decreased as the deposition temperature increased in the temperature range of $1460^{\circ}-1550^{\circ}C$. At the deposition temperature of $1550^{\circ}C$ the SiC layer contained an excess carbon, whereas the SiC layers had stoichiometric compositions at $1460^{\circ}C\;and\;1500^{\circ}C$. Hardness and elastic modulus measured by a nanoindentation method were the highest in the SiC layer deposited at $1500^{\circ}C$. The SiC layer deposited at the gas flow rate of 4000 sccm exhibited a high porosity and contained large pores more than $1{\mu}m$, being due to a violent spouting of particles. On the other hand, the SiC layer deposited at 2500 sccm revealed the lowest porosity.
Combustion of ethanol (EtOH) at low temperatures has been studied using titania- and silica-supported platinum nanocrystallites with different sizes in a wide range of 1~25 nm, to see if EtOH can be used as a clean, alternative fuel, i.e., one that does not emit sulfur oxides, fine particulates and nitrogen oxides, and if the combustion flue gas can be used for directly heating the interior of greenhouses. The results of $H_2-N_2O$ titration on the supported Pt catalysts with no calcination indicate a metal dispersion of $0.97{\pm}0.1$, corresponding to ca. 1.2 nm, while the calcination of 0.65% $Pt/SiO_2$ at 600 and $900^{\circ}C$ gives the respective sizes of 13.7 and 24.6 nm when using X-ray diffraction technique, as expected. A comparison of EtOH combustion using $Pt/TiO_2$ and $Pt/SiO_2$ catalysts with the same metal content, dispersion and nanoparticle size discloses that the former is better at all temperatures up to $200^{\circ}C$, suggesting that some acid sites can play a role for the combustion. There is a noticeable difference in the combustion characteristics of EtOH at $80{\sim}200^{\circ}C$ between samples of 0.65% $Pt/SiO_2$ consisting of different metal particle sizes; the catalyst with larger platinum nanoparticles shows higher intrinsic activity. Besides the formation of $CO_2$, low-temperature combustion of EtOH can lead to many other pathways that generate undesired byproducts, such as formaldehyde, acetaldehyde, acetic acid, diethyl ether, and ethylene, depending strongly on the catalyst and reaction conditions. A 0.65% $Pt/SiO_2$ catalyst with a Pt crystallite size of 24.6 nm shows stable performances in EtOH combustion at $120^{\circ}C$ even for 12 h, regardless of the space velocity allowed.
A scroll expander has been designed to produce a shaft power from a R134a Rankine cycle for electricity generation. Heat was supplied to the Rankine cycle through a heat exchanger, which received heat from another cycle of water. In the water cycle, water was heated up in a boiler using biogenic solid fuel. The designed scroll expander was a horizontal type, and a trochoidal oil pump was employed for oil supply to bearings and Oldham-ring keys. For axial compliance, a back pressure chamber was created on the backside of the orbiting scroll base plate. Numerical study has been carried out to estimate the performance of the designed scroll expander. The expander was estimated to produce the shaft power of about 2.9 kW from a heat supply of 36 kW, when the temperature of R134a was $80^{\circ}C$ and $35^{\circ}C$ at the evaporator and condenser of the Rankine cycle, respectively. The expander efficiency was about 70.5%. When the amount of heat supply varied in the ranges of 7.5~55 kW, the expander efficiency changed in the range of 45.6~70.5%, showing a peak efficiency of 70.5% at the design shaft speed.

Considering the fuel consumption of car, a light structure of aluminum alloys is desired fer car body nowadays. However, fusion welding of aluminum alloys has some problems of reduction of joint efficiency, porosity formation and hot cracking. In the present work, investigation to improve the joint performance of laser welded joint has been carried out by addition of Cu, Ni, and Zr to A6NO 1 alloy welds. Aluminum alloy plate of 2.Omm in thickness with filler metal bar was welded by twin beam Nd: YAG laser facility (total power: 5kW). The filler metals were prepared by changing the chemical compositions for adding the elements into the weld metal. Thirteen filler metal bars were prepared and pre-placed into the base metal before welding. Ar gas shielding with a flow rate of 10 1/min was used. The defocusing distance is kept at 0 mm. At travel speeds off 3 to 9 and at laser power of 5kW (front beam 2kW rear beam 3kW), full penetration welds were obtained, whereas at travel speeds of 12 to 18 m/min and same power, partial penetration was observed. The joint efficiency of laser-welded joint was improved by the addition of Cu, Ni, and Zr due to the solid solution hardening, grain refining and precipitation hardening. The type of hardening has been further considered by metallurgical examination.

Since the carbon nanotubes (CNTs) have extraordinary material properties, many researchers are trying to make a practical application in various fields [1]. In particular, the high surface area of CNTs was fascinated for nano-template on the catalytic system. $RuO_2$ coated CNTs are useful functional nano-composites in many applications, including super capacitors, fuel cells, biosensors, and field emitters. However, the research of interaction between CNTs and $RuO_2$ was not satisfied with various fields [2]. In this study, we will introduce the change of chemical and electrical state of $RuO_2$/CNTs at different temperatures by synchrotron radiation photoemission spectroscopy (SRPES). The t-MWCNTs used in this experiment were grown on the Ni/TiN/Si substrates by chemical vapor deposition. $RuO_2$ of 4-20 nm in thickness was deposited on the t-MWNTs by sputter. The SRPES measurements were carried out at the 4B1 beamline of the Pohang Accelerator Laboratory in Korea. The result of XPS measurement indicates that the deposited $RuO_2$ on the CNTs was reduced into pure Ru at above $300^{\circ}C$. And we confirmed that the effective work function of $RuO_2$/CNTs was decreased with increasing temperature.
