  • The purpose of this study is to analyse and compare the fuel combustion characteristics between LPG and gasoline on SI engine. Pressures of combustion chamber were measured on the state that engine speed was 2000rpm and BMEP was 2.0bar And we measured pressures of combustion chamber regarding variation of the MBT We could know that the combustion pressure of LPG fuel use engine is appeared lower than that of gasoline fuel use engine. At the lean mixture ratio area we could blow that Ignition timings are pulled very forward, and ignition timing of LPG fuel is advanced to $5\sim12^{\circ}$ CA than gasoline fuel. We learned that the value of coefficient of variation of LPG fuel is higher than gasoline fuel.

  • The driving patterns in Seoul metropolitan area were surveyed in an experiment involving 1,212km of driving along seventeen representative routes. The speed and fuel consumption data were recorded and the influence of driving patterns on vehicle fuel economy was analyzed by statistical techniques. The results showed that characteristics of driving in Seoul metropolitan area are far different from that of CVS-75 mode and then on-road fuel economy in Seoul may be small as compared with that of CVS-75 mode. Finally, it was proposed that CVS-75 mode fuel economy should be modified by applying adjustment factor to represent actual on-road fuel economy.

  • This paper presents the development and validation methods of the FUTURE (FUel cycle analysis Tool for nUcleaR Energy) code, which was developed for a dynamic material flow evaluation and economic analysis of the nuclear fuel cycle. This code enables an evaluation of a nuclear material flow and its economy for diverse nuclear fuel cycles based on a predictable scenario. The most notable virtue of this FUTURE code, which was developed using C# and MICROSOFT SQL DBMS, is that a program user can design a nuclear fuel cycle process easily using a standard process on the canvas screen through a drag-and-drop method. From the user's point of view, this code is very easy to use thanks to its high flexibility. In addition, the new code also enables the maintenance of data integrity by constructing a database environment of the results of the nuclear fuel cycle analyses.

  • Ta investigate characteristics and spray of emulsified fuet we are mixed water with diesel oil using ultrasonic energy fuel feeding system. Separation ratio of emulsified fuel was shown good condition that of water content is small and longer ultrasonic energy adding time. Viscosity of emulsified fuel increased 79% with addition to water content and surface tension increased 1.6% in comparision to pure diesel oil. The SMD of emulsified fuel adding ultrasonic energy decreased with 3% in comparision to pure diesel oil. With increasing 5, 10% water content the SMD decreased 15.6, 20.1% in comparision to pure diesel oil. The mind-explosion was investigated with 4step.

  • Measurements of the isotopic contents of spent nuclear fuel provide experimental data that are a prerequisite for validating computer codes and nuclear data for many spent fuel applications. Under the auspices of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Nuclear Energy Agency (NEA) and guidance of the Expert Group on Assay Data of Spent Nuclear Fuel of the NEA Working Party on Nuclear Criticality Safety, a new database of expanded spent fuel isotopic compositions has been compiled. The database, Spent Fuel Compositions (SFCOMPO) 2.0, includes measured data for more than 750 fuel samples acquired from 44 different reactors and representing eight different reactor technologies. Measurements for more than 90 isotopes are included. This new database provides data essential for establishing the reliability of code systems for inventory predictions, but it also has broader potential application to nuclear data evaluation. The database, together with adjoint based sensitivity and uncertainty tools for transmutation systems developed to quantify the importance of nuclear data on nuclide concentrations, are described.

  • Hybrid car can improve fuel efficiency using a power of motor that is generated during constant-speed or deceleration driving. The motor is located between engine and transmission. But, when voltage of main battery is low, fuel efficiency is low because the voltage can't run the motor. In this situation, this study observed fuel efficiency when using solar cell for assistance power. In order to verify a fuel consumption of hybrid car equipped solar cell for assistance power, the car was tested downtown driving. As hybrid car was equipped solar cell for assistance, fuel consumption was reduced 8.35 % at running air conditioner. And, at air conditioner doesn't work, fuel consumption was reduced 6.88 %. This point of view, CO2 is expected to reduce in similar proportion.

  • For the low-Pt electrodes for polymer electrolyte fuel cells (PEMFCs), the optimization of ionomer content for anode catalyst layers was carried out. A commercial catalyst of 20 wt.% Pt/C was used instead of 50 wt.% Pt/C which is commonly used for PEMFCs. The ionomer content varies from 0.6 to 1.2 based on ionomer to carbon ratio (I/C) and the catalyst layer is formed over the electrolyte by the ultrasonic spray process. Evaluation of the prepared MEA in the unit cell showed that the optimal ionomer content of the air electrode was 0.8 on the I/C basis, while the hydrogen electrode was optimal at the relatively high ionomer content of 1.0. In addition, a large difference in cell performance was observed when the ionomer content of the hydrogen electrode was changed. Increasing the ionomer content from 0.6 to 1.0 by I/C in a hydrogen electrode with 0.05 mg/㎠ platinum loading resulted in more than double cell performance improvements on a 0.6 V. Through the analysis of various electrochemical properties in the single cell, it was assumed that the change in ionomer content of the hydrogen electrode affects the water flow between the hydrogen and air electrodes bounded by the membrane in the cell, which affects the overall performance of the cell. A more specific study will be carried out to understand the water flow mechanism in the future, and this study will show that the optimization process of hydrogen electrode can also be a very important cell design variable for the low-Pt and high-performance MEA.

  • Densification and grain growth have been investigated in 5 wt% $U_3O_8$ seeded $UO_2$ and compared with those of the common $UO_2$ pellet. $UO_2$ compacts and $U_3O_8$ seeded $UO_2$ compacts were sintered at $1300{\sim}1700^{\circ}C$ for 0 h to 4 h. Density and grain size of the sintered pellets were measured by the water immersion method and the image analyzer, respectively. The seeded pellet has a slightly lower density during the intermediate sintering stage. However, the difference of density between two pellets decreases to about 0.5%TD with increasing the sintering temperature. The grain size of the two pellets is similar until $1600^{\circ}C$ but that of the seeded pellet rapidly increases with increasing the sintering temperature.
