구동방식이 다른 서보유압형 인젝터의 분사응답성 연구 (Study on Injection Response of Servo-Hydraulic Injector with Different Actuation Method)

  • In this paper, high-pressure injection characteristic of servo hydraulic injector as the key component of diesel CRDi system, which is driven by solenoid and piezo-actuator were examined by experimental analysis. High-pressure injection characteristic of standard diesel fuel injected at high pressure up to 160 MPa was investigated at high-pressure chamber by using a high-speed camera for spray visualization and quantitative analysis. By this study, we found that the piezo-driven injector has better performances in controlling the fuel injection with the high pressure, including fuel quantity, spray penetration length and spray velocity, than that of a solenoid-driven injector. In particular, the needle response time for start of injection in piezo-driven injector was faster of about $125{\mu}s$ than that of solenoid-driven injector. Consequently, it is known that the piezo-driven injector has more degrees of freedom in controlling the fuel injection with the high pressure than solenoid-driven injector.

분사압력 1800 bar 실현을 위한 직접 니들구동방식 피에조 인젝터 설계 최적화 연구 (A Study on Optimal Design of Direct Needle-driven Piezo Injector for Accomplishing Injection Pressure of 1800 bar)

  • The advantages of the common rail fuel injection system architecture have been recognized since the development of the diesel engine. In common rail systems, a high-pressure pump stores a reservoir of fuel at high pressure up to and above 2000 bar. And solenoid or piezoelectric valves make possible fine electronic control over the fuel injection time and quantity, and the higher pressure that the common rail technology makes available provides better fuel atomization. In this study, the direct needle-driven piezo injector was investigated for accomplishing injection pressure of 1800 bar by optimal design by simplification of component and changing number of springs and plates of DPI. It was found that a direct needle-driven piezo injection system features the prototype DPI for passenger vehicle to operate at 1800 bar of injection pressure.

Image reconstruction algorithm for momentum dependent muon scattering tomography

  • Nondestructive radiography using cosmic ray muons has been used for decades to monitor nuclear reactor and spent nuclear fuel storage. Because nuclear fuel assemblies are highly dense and large, typical radiation probes such as x-rays cannot penetrate these target imaging objects. Although cosmic ray muons are highly penetrative for nuclear fuels as a result of their relatively high energy, the wide application of muon tomography is limited because of naturally low cosmic ray muon flux. This work presents a new image reconstruction algorithm to maximize the utility of cosmic ray muon in tomography applications. Muon momentum information is used to improve imaging resolution, as well as muon scattering angle. In this work, a new convolution was introduced known as M-value, which is a mathematical integration of two measured quantities: scattering angle and momentum. It captures the objects' quantity and density in a way that is easy to use with image reconstruction algorithms. The results demonstrate how to reconstruct images when muon momentum measurements are included in a typical muon scattering tomography algorithm. Using M-value improves muon tomography image resolution by replacing the scattering angle value without increasing computation costs. This new algorithm is projected to be a standard nondestructive radiography technique for spent nuclear fuel and nuclear material management.

스마트무인기 연료시스템 연료이송 제트펌프의 성능평가에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Performance Evaluation of a Jet Pump for the Smart UAV Fuel System)

  • 스마트무인기 연료공급시스템에 사용되는 제트펌프의 연료탱크 사이의 연료이송 특성이 실험적으로 조사되었다. 제트펌프의 작동조건은 비행체의 임무에 따른 엔진의 요구사항을 만족하도록 설정되었으며, 주어진 조건에서 제트펌프의 성능을 평가하였다. 제트펌프의 유량비 변화에 따른 압력비 및 효율이 측정되었으며 면적비 변화 등이 고려되었다. 평가 결과로부터 제트펌프는 주어진 압력비보다 큰 범위에서 작동목표인 유량비 2.23을 만족하였다. 효율보다 연료공급량이 중시되는 연료이송 제트펌프의 경우 면적비 변화를 통하여 허용 압력비 범위 내에서 유량비 조절이 가능함을 알 수 있었다.

연료레일 압력과 엔진 속도가 가스연료 시스템에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Effects of Fuel Rail Pressure and Engine Speed on Gas Fuel System)

  • 이번 연구는 가스 연료의 연료 공급 시스템에서 분사 압력과 엔진 속도에 따른 연료 분사 특성을 확인하였다. 이번 실험에서 연료 레일 압력은 1.5에서 6.0 bar까지 1.5 bar 단위로 증가시키고, 엔진 속도는 1,000 에서 6,000 RPM으로 1000 RPM 간격으로 설정하였다. 실제 엔진 작동을 고려하여 분사 펄스폭은 각각 2.5 ms, 5.0 ms 및 13.0 ms로 설정하였으며, 이는 각각 엔진 주행상태에서 저, 중 및 고 부하 운전조건에 해당한다. 결론적으로 100cc 연료레일의 경우, 분사 압력 4.5bar에서 가장 우수한 성능을 보였고, 1000 ~ 6000RPM의 엔진 속도에서 엔진 출력을 보장하는 최소 요구 분사량 53 cc을 얻을 수 있다.

Reconsideration of Significant Quantity (SQ) for Pu Based on the Strategic Impact Investigation of Non-Strategic Nuclear Weapon (NSNW) Using Monte-Carlo Simulations

  • The present multidisciplinary study, which is a nexus of engineering and political science, investigates how the modernization of Non-Strategic Nuclear Weapons (NSNWs) affects the IAEA safeguards system based on the likelihood of the use of nuclear weapons. To this end, this study examines the characteristics of modernized NSNWs using Monte Carlo techniques. The results thus obtained show that 10 kt NSNWs with a Circular Error Probability (CEP) of 10 m can destroy the target as effectively as a 500 kt weapon with a CEP of 100 m. The IAEA safeguards system shows that the Significant Quantity (SQ) of 1 of plutonium is 8 kg, a parameter that was established when strategic nuclear weapons were dominant. However, the results of this study indicate that in recent years, low-yield nuclear weapons such as NSNWs have been more strategically interesting than strategic nuclear weapons as NSNWs require less plutonium than strategic nuclear weapons. Therefore, we would like to conclude that reducing the SQ of plutonium can result in more robust safeguards and non-proliferation strategies.

  • 화석연료의 문제점을 보완하고 있는 태양광발전 시스템은 태양전지 모듈의 온도에 따라 출력량이 급격히 변화하는 특성을 가지고 있다. 이러한 특성을 잘 이해하고 전력생산을 극대화 하기위해 태양전지의 온도를 낮추기 위한 방법을 고려하였다. 본 논문에서는 모듈의 전면과 후면에 똑같은 온도 감소 설비를 한 후 전 후면의 온도를 동시에 낮추는 것이 발전량에 더 큰 도움을 준다는 결론을 도출하였다.

  • Generally fuel injection system using solenoid have some problems between control signal and mechanical movement like as time lag. Main purpose of the present study is to help the design optimization of GDSI for real engine application. We have adopted two different solenoid driving circuit, namely saturation and pick-hold type and have investigated experimentally the current, needle force, needle opening duration and injection quantity. The pick-hold type driving circuit surpassed a saturation type in the response time and pression control of injection quantity. Accordingly, Using characterization data of operating factors such as time constant, driving force and so on, can be evaluated and adjusted to obtain an optimum injector performance.

폐타이어 재 자원화를 위한 연구 (A Study on Recycling of Waste Tire)

  • Compared to other waste, waste tire has much discharge quantity and calorie. When we use waste heat from waste tire, it can be definitely better substitute energy than coal and anthracite in high oil price age. To use as a basic data for providing low cost and highly effective heating system, following conclusion was founded. Annual waste tire production was 19,596 million in 1999, Recycling ratio was almost 55% and more than 8.78 million was stored. Waste tire has lower than 1.5% sulfur contain ratio which is resource of an pollution, So it is a waste fuel which can be combustion based on current exhaust standard value without any extra SOx exclusion materials. Waste tire has 9,256Kcal/kg calorific value and it is higher than waste rubber, waste rubber, waste energy as same as B-C oil. When primary and second air quantity was 1.6, 8.0 Nm$^3$/min, dry gas production time was 270min and total combustion time was 360 min. In the SOx, NOx, HC of air pollution material density were lower than exhaust standard value at the back of cyclone and dusty than exhaust standard value without dust collector.

사용종료매립지(使用終了埋立地) 폐기물(廢棄物)의 처리방법별(處理方法別) 온실(溫室)가스 저감량(低減量) 평가(評價) (Estimation of Greenhouse Gas Reduction Potential by Treatment Methods of Excavated Wastes from a Closed Landfill Site)

  • 본 연구는 사용종료매립지 정비를 위한 폐기물 처리과정에서 가연성폐기물의 처리 방법별 온실가스 발생량을 IPCC에서 제시하고 있는 기본배출계수(default emission factor)를 활용하여 산정하고 그 결과 비교를 통해 온실가스 감축량을 산정하였다. 대상 매립지로부터 굴착한 폐기물의 성상을 조사한 결과 토사류가 64.96%로 가장 많은 비율을 차지하고 있었으며, 다음으로 비닐/플라스틱류가 19.18%의 비율을 차지하고 있어 전체 폐기물 중 토사류의 비율이 매우 높은 것으로 나타났다. 음식물류, 목초류, 종이류와 같이 생분해가 용이한 폐기물이 거의 발견되지 않은 점 등이 일반적인 비위생매립지의 굴착폐기물과 성상이 유사하였다. 전체 폐기물의 겉보기 밀도는 평균 $0.74t/m^3$으로 확인되었다. 폐기물을 매립으로 처리하는 경우 약 60,542 $tCO_2$, 소각을 통해 폐기물 처리 시 9,933 $tCO_2$의 온실가스가 배출되며 폐기물 고형연료 생산 시에는 33,738 $tCO_2$의 온실가스가 감축되는 것으로 산정되어 폐기물 고형연료 생산이 온실가스 감축에 도움이 되는 것으로 확인되었다.
