승합 및 경트럭의 탑승자 보호성능 평가 (Evaluation of Occupant Protection of Van and Light Truck Vehicle)

  • The fatalities rate for passenger vehicles, vans, and commercial vehicles is 1.23, 1.90 and 2.46 deaths per 10,000 registered vehicles, respectively. This shows that vans and commercial vehicles are vulnerable compare to passenger vehicles. To evaluate the crashworthiness of van and Light Truck Vehicle(LTV), we carried out frontal offset crash test at 64km/h, 40% overlap as per IIHS(Insurance Institute for Highway Safety). The test result show that LTV is very poor to protect occupant at frontal crash cause there is no safety system such as airbag and pretensioner and front end length(distance from front bumper to steering wheel) is short. One of the van rated as the lowest rating even it is equipped with airbag, cause its safety cage was collapsed during the test. This result shows that the structural integrity is very important in terms of occupant protection.

소규모 저수지에서 밀도류 순환의 수치해석 (Numerical Analysis of Circulation Due to Density Current in a Small Reservoir)

  • 밀도가 큰 유체의 유입으로 인한 소규모저수지의 바닥밀도류에 의한 순환이 수치해에 의하여 해석된다. 밀도류전면이 하류경계에 도달하기전에는 밀도류전면의 이동에 따라 침강점 하류에 형성된 반시계방향 와의 이동에 의하여 저수지내 순환과 혼합이 이루어지며, 밀도류전면이 하류경계에 도달한 후에는 하류경계에서 밀도류의 상승으로 인한 일종의 내부파가 형성되고 이 파의 상 하류 반복 전파됨에 따라 저수지내 혼합이 이루어지면서 밀도층의 두께는 증가한다. 하류경계에서 유출되는 유체의 희석은 유입밀도후르드수 Fre, 저수지길이, 시간의 함수이며 유출유체의 밀도가 일정값에 도달되는 시간은 저수지길이가 길수록, Fre가 작을수록 증가하는 것으로 나타났다.

DYNAMIC MODELING AND ANALYSIS OF VEHICLE SMART STRUCTURES FOR FRONTAL COLLISION IMPROVEMENT

  • The majority of real world frontal collisions involves partial overlap (offset) collision, in which only one of the two longitudinal members is used for energy absorption. This leads to dangerous intrusions of the passenger compartment. Excessive intrusion is usually generated on the impacted side causing higher contact injury risk on the occupants compared with full frontal collision. The ideal structure needs to have extendable length when the front-end structure is not capable to absorb crash energy without violating deceleration pulse requirements. A smart structure has been proposed to meet this ideal requirement. The proposed front-end structure consists of two hydraulic cylinders integrated with the front-end longitudinal members of standard vehicles. The work carried out in this paper includes developing and analyzing mathematical models of two different cases representing vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-barrier in full and offset collisions. By numerical crash simulations, this idea has been evaluated and optimized. It is proven form numerical simulations that the smart structures bring significantly lower intrusions and decelerations. In addition, it is shown that the mathematical models are valid, flexible, and can be used in an effective way to give a quick insight of real life crashes.

한복바지 구성의 제도법에 대한 고찰 (A Study on the Drafting Method of Korean Men's Traditional Trousers)

  • According to the design method for constructing the crotch angle of traditional Korean men's trousers there are differences in from after its completion. Since there is no standardization of visual & aesthetic pattern for the construction method which is stablished by the calculation formular of waist girth hip girth pantleg end and upper outer leg length it is difficult to be used for educational use or for teaching materials. Therefore the purpose of this project according to five models in proportion to the physical standard of Korea in ages from 24 to 29 years old is to establish a design criterion and the standardization of construction methods by introduction the pant construction method of the crotch angle by converting the sitting posture length to seaming crotch center point both knees width in the Korean way of sitting. The production method for the pattern design is as follow: (1) The waist girth formular is {{{{ { w} over {4 } }}}}+{{{{ {w} over {10 } }}}}(2) The hip girth formular is {{{{ {H } over { 4} }}}}+{{{{ {H } over {5 } }}}}(3) The pantleg end formular is {{{{ {H } over {4 } }}}}(4) A crotch angle is fixed at 70 degress.(5) The ratio of outer leg length to leg width is 5:8 (6) The component ratio of the upper outer leg length to the pant length in 5:8(7) The ratio of the division point of front / right inner leg length and left inner leg width to upper outer leg length is 5 : 8

20대 한국과 미국 여성의 자세에 따른 하반신 치수변화 비교 연구 (A Comparative Study on the Changes in Size of Lower Body for Different Postures between Korean and American Women in their Twenties)

  • U.S. apparel brands are being imported to Korea more than any other country's apparel brands. Against this backdrop, this study intends to verify the fitness of U.S. apparels for Korean people in terms of size. To this end, the authors selected 25 American and 25 Korean women in their twenties and studied the differences of these two groups with regard to the size of their lower body parts. In addition, the authors analyzed how the size of each part of the lower body changes according to different postures. All the study subjects were required to be able to wear medium-sized pants of the U.S. apparel. The results of the present study are shown below. The American women were bigger than the Korean counterparts in leg length, hip circumference, thigh circumference, and all height-related sizes. However, the Koreans were bigger than their peers in lengths from waist to crotch; crotch length, body rise and the length from front waist point to hip line. Standing posture was used as a yardstick, when the changes in size according to the different postures were examined. The results indicate that hip and knee circumferences increased in the sitting posture. In particular, hip circumference significantly increased in the American women group. Regarding length-related sizes, increases and decreases in sizes for different lower body parts differed according to the posture. For a walking posture with ordinary strides, the front crotch length decreased while the back crotch length increased. This tendency was more notably observed for Korean women. The American woman clearly showed a decrease in outside leg length for all postures. The Korean women obviously presented an increase in the front center leg length for the sitting posture and for the posture where the knees were bent at $120^{\circ}$. The length from the front waist point to the hip line significantly declined in the Korean woman for the sitting posture and for the walking posture with ordinary strides.

안강망어법의 개량과 어장의 원해로의 확대를 위한 연구 - 2 . 새로 설계된 어구의 모형실험 - (Study on the Improvement of Stow Net Fishing Technigue and the Enlargement of Fishing Groung to the Distant Waters 2 . Model Experiment on the Newly Designed Gear)

  • 현재 보편적으로 사용하고 있는 재식성안강망 그물은 본 연구의 제1보에서 그 1/20 크기의 모형어구를 측정.조사한 결과, 몇 가지 흠함이 규명되었으나, 여기서는 그 흠함을 보완하기 위하여 망지배치와 구성을 새로하고, 그 1/20크기의 모형어구를 써서 전개장치를 측정.관찰한 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 새로 설계된 어구의 특징은 (1) 망지배치는 등판.밑판.양 옆판의 앞끝을 재뢰식보다 20%정도 줄이고, 옆구리의 폭을 10%정도 늘였으며, 등판.밑판의 앞쪽 중앙부는 길이의 20%정도까지 만곡되게 사단했다. (2) 뜸줄.발줄의 길이는 망지배치상 재뢰식보다 6%정도 짧게 했다. (3) 그물의 네모서리에서 적당한 성형을 하면서 힘줄을 붙였다. (4) 전개장치의 높이는 재뢰식보다 17%정도 짧게 했으며, 상단에 붙이는 뜸의 부력은 20%정도 크게 했다. (5) 네갈랫줄의 길이는 중앙부의 것을 길게, 상하의 것을 짧게 했다. 2. 이 어구로서 측정한 결과는 (1) 등판.밑판 앞쪽 중앙부의 구김살이 제거되어 상면에서 본 그물 언저리 선이 원활해 졌다. (2) 망구의 전개 높이는 재뢰식보다 3%정도 커졌다. (3) 망구의 전개간격은 재뢰식보다 1.5~1.6배로 커졌다. (4) 유체저항은 재뢰식보다 10~17% 작아졌다

롤 포밍 공정에서 컷팅 펀치 인선 각도가 제품 절단에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Effects of Products Section by Cutting Punch's Edge Angle during Roll Forming Process)

  • The roll forming produces mass products using the continuous production process. Also we need the process that continuous long material or goods cutting into a desired length. Our study uses 3-D driving cutter and roll forming material as SPCC to investigate this. When we cut the material using the process of roll forming, the shear resistance is raised at the cutting punch's edge. The result is remained the trouble about burr and progressive deformation on the material. This study shows the method minimizing the above trouble. The material of punch was considering heat generated on the continuous production process. So we used the type of STD 61 for the material of punch and had the vacuum heat treatment for the surface hardness of HRC 53. The structure of the mold is designed with forming a double cam die at the upper punch and the both sides of central core. We conducted the experiment three times. In the result when had to make V-groove within the angle between 105 and 110 on the punch front end, we could get the minimum shear resistance on the punch front end. Also with the same condition we minimizes the material jams in the continuous production process.

로프 트롤 그물의 기본성능에 관한 모형실험 (A Model Experiment on the Basic Efficiency of Midwater Rope Trawl Net)

  • A model experiment on a midwater rope trawl net which is used in the North Pacific to catch alaska pollack is carried out in the circulating tank to examine the basic efficiency of the net. The prototype is the net used by M/S Hanil(1, 179GT, 2, 700PS), a Korean trawler. The model net was made according to the Tauti's Similarity Law of Fishing Gear in 1/100 scale by considering the condition of the tank. To measure the basic efficiency of the standard model net, the vertical opening and width between some points marked on the net were measured, and the hydrodynamic resistance were determined. Then the constructive conditions of the net were varied as follows and the factors were measured again to compare the efficiency of those nets with that of the standard net(A-1 type) front weight multiplied 1.5 times: A-2 type. buoyancy and depressing force multiplied 1.7 times: A-3 type. front weight multiplied 1.5 times on A-3 type: A-4 type. depressors rigged at ground rope: B type. cod-end stuffed with cashmylon wad: C type. The results obtained can be summarized as follows: 1. The vertical opening at the center of head rope was steeply decreased with the flow velocity increasing and the vertical opening H(m) can be expressed in H=1.2v super(-1.2)(v : flow velocity in m/sec). The width of the net varied a little when the flow velocity was over 0.4m/sec, and the width of net mouth showed about 37% of the distance between the fore tips of net pendant. The shape of net mouth was almost a circle at 0.2m/sec and then steeply flatted elliptically with the flow velocity increasing and the area of mouth S(m super(2)) can be expressed in S=(1.65-2.3v)$\times$10 super(-2). The hydrodynamic resistance of the net increased almost linearly with the flow velocity increasing and the resistance R(kg) can be expressed in R=3.2$\times$d/l$\times$abv. where d/l denotes the mean of d(diameter of netting twine) and l(length of a leg in a mesh) from wing tip to the end of bag-net except cod-end on the side pannel, and a denotes the strectched circumference of the net at the fore end of a meshed part and b the stretched length of the whole net from wing tip to the end of cod-end. 2. In the condition-varied nets, the vertical opening of head rope showed some increase in every type net except the C type, and the increase showed the greatest in the B type by 30~54%, whereas it showed decrease in the C type by 5~10%. Variation of the area of net mouth showed almost the same tendency as the vertical opening and the increase showed the greatest in the B type by 20%, whereas it showed decrease in the C type by 12%. Hydrodynamic resistance showed some increase in every type compared with the standard net, and the rate of increase indicated 5~10% in the A-2, A-3 and A-4 type, 22% in the B type and 3% in the C type.

실물제작을 통한 의상 연구 (The Study on Dress through Rehabilitation)

  • As the current stage of the fashion begins to follow the styles of the past the study on the past costume is getting more importance and as the methodolgy of the study the accu-rately approached study through the rehabili-tation of the past cosume is more needed than the simple rearrangement of the historical documents. By this methodology this study can be positioned as a re-creation activity. The results of the study are as follows. 1) Style: The general silhouette is the style to emphasize the waist and to widen skirt at the lower part of the body. The front shows hourglass silhouette but the side shows S-line silhouette. The dress is two-piece composed of bodice and skirt. 2) Color and Fabric: The main color is dull powder blue end the sub color is ivory. The dress is made of wool crepe and cotton and partly silk crepe satin and taffeta. 3) Pattern and sewing: The dress is combined with lining and fabrics, The patterns. or overbodice. The skirt is gored skirt. The skirt is gored skirt. The dress has various effect not only to decorate but also to conceal seams support hemlines nd affect the depth and length of front panel. 4) Datail: The braid black velvet ribbon frill and tucks in bodice skirt sleeves front panel collar cuffs are repeatedly used to dec-orate the dress. Finally the 1902-3 day dress has the characteristics of transitional stag in which the chatacteristics of the costume of 1900s and the remnants of the characteristics of the pre-vious costume style and shows the charac-teristics of day dress well in terms of the style color and fabric pattern and sewing and detail.

차체구조용 SCPI 강도부재의 점용접간격이 압궤특성에 미치는 영향 (Influence of Spot Weld Pitches on Collapse Characteristics of SCPI Vehicle Members)

  • Front-side members are structures with the greatest energy absorbing capability in a front-end collision of vehicles. This paper was performed to analyze initial collapse characteristics of spot welded hat and double hat-shaped section members, which are basic shape of side members, on the shift of flange weld pitches. The impact collapse tests were carried out by using home-made vertical air compression impact testing machine, and impact velocity of hat-shaped section members is 4.17m/sec and that of double hat-shaped section members is 6.54m/sec. In impact collapse tests, the collapsed length of hat-shaped section members was about 45mm and that of double hat-shaped section members was about 50mm. In consideration of these condition, axial static collapse tests(0.00017m/sec) of hat and double hat-shaped section members were carried out by using UTM which was limited displacement, about 50mm. As the experimental results, to obtain the best initial collapse characteristics, it is important that stiffness of vehicle members increases as section shapes change and the progressively folding mode induces by flange welding pitch.
