  • In this research, we are trying to develop an automatic sorting system, which is mostly affected by frictional forces between a veneer and plank. So we will make a suitable dynamic model and mechanism to control the velocity feedback. We will suggest stick-slip motion model which can predict the stability behavior of this system. The control system has a feedback loop, in which the following operations are included. A kind of sensor can get the velocity of the mass to adhesive veneer. The output of result signal should be passed to a filter, then to a phase shifter, which applies an adjustable phase-shift, to a variable-gain amplifier.   • In this work, the electrophoretic motion of dsDNA molecule represented by a polymer through an artificial nano-pore in a membrane is simulated using the numerical method combining the lattice Boltzmann and Langevin molecular dynamic method. The polymer motion is represented by Langevin molecular dynamics technique while the fluid flow is taken into account by fluctuating lattice-Boltzmann method. The hydrodynamic interactions between the polymer and solvent in a confined space with a membrane having a hole are considered explicitly through the frictional and the random forces. The electric field intensity over the space is obtained from a finite difference method. Initially, the polymer is placed at one side of the space, and an electric field is applied to drive the polymer to the other side of the space through the nano-pore. In future, we plan to study the effect of the polymer size and the electric field on the electrophoretic velocity.

  • This study analyzes the behavior of adhesion and friction according to the pore size of nanohoneycomb structures in atomic force microscope (AFM). Anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) films are fabricated as nanohoneycomb structures. According to the pore diameters of the nanohoneycomb structures, the adhesive forces and the frictional coefficients arc obtained in AFM, and the behaviors are analyzed in the view of the contact area between the sphere particle and nanohoneycomb substrate. The effective Young's moduli of the nanohoneycomb structures are measured from the nanoindentation tests, and the contact areas at zero applied load are calculated by combining the porosity of the nanohoneycomb structures and the contact radius determined from JKR and DMT theory.

립실의 접촉력 및 온도분포 해석에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Contact Force and Temperature Distribution of Lip Seals)

  • Using the finite element method, the contact force, contact band width and temperature distribution of lip seals analyzed for the interference including some nonlinearities such as material nonlinearity, geometrical nonlinearity and nonlinear contact boundary condition. The calculated results showed that the contact stress concentrated on the contact zone between the garter spring and the rubber toward the flex side, the contact edge of lip seals. The high contact forces due to the increased interference separate the sealing gap between the lip edge and the rotating shaft. This may lead to leak the sealed oil.

압축성 마이크로 유동에 관한 기초 연구 (A Fundamental Study of Compressible Micro Flows)

  • Recently the micro flows have been received much attention in the applications with regard to Micro Electro Mechanical Systems(MEMS). Such flows are governed by relatively large viscous forces, compared with inetia force, and frequently specified by slip wall boundary conditions. In the present study, computations are applied to investigate the compressible viscous flows through an extremely small channel, and theoretical analyses are conducted using the Fanno flow theory. The axisymmetic, compressible, Wavier-Stokes equations are numerically solved by a fully implicit finite implicit method. The predicted results are validated with previous experimental data available. The results obtained show that for small Reynolds numbers, the viscous frictional force significantly influences the compressible micro channel flows.

비선형효과를 고려한 유기압현수장치의 동적 특성 연구 (A Study on the Dynamic Characteristics of Hydropneumatic Suspension Unit Considering the Nonlinear Effects)

  • The hydropneumatic suspension units, which have applied to the tracked vehicles, have the spring and damping function in the unit. The nonlinear characteristics such as roadwheel rotation effects, gas behavior changes, hydraulic damping characteristics, hysterisis, and frictional forces have been ignored or simplified to analyze the mathematical models in many areas. This study describes the dynamic characteristics and the nonlinear behaviors of hydropneumatic suspension unit considering the nonlinear effects such as the nonlinear spring and nonlinear damping through the simulation and the experiment. The utility of nonlinear analysis through the higher-order spectral analysis is also presented.

접촉피로에 의한 표면피팅의 유한요소 시뮬레이션 (Finite Element Simulation of Surface Pitting due to Contact Fatigue)

  • A simple computational model for modeling of subsurface crack growth under cyclic contact loading is presented. In this model, it is assumed that the initial fatigue crack will initiate in the region of the maximum equivalent stress at certain depth under the contacting surface. The position and magnitude of the maximum equivalent stress are determined by using the equivalent contact model, which is based on the Hertzian contact conditions with frictional forces. The virtual crack extension method is used for simulation of the fatigue crack growth from the initial crack up to the formation of the surface pit due to contact fatigue. The relationships between the stress intensity factor and crack length are then determined for various combinations of equivalent contact radii and loadings.

BTCA와 실리론 처리 면직물의 역학적 성질 (Mechanical Properties of Cotton Fabric Treated with BTCA and Polyalkkyleneoxide modified aminofunctional silicone)

  • Cotton fabrics were finished with mixture of BTCA and silicone by pad-dry-cure process to achieve better mechanical properties than those of finished with BTCA alone. The changes of mechanical properties o( finished cotton fabrics were measured with by the KES-FB System and the hand values were calculated from the data of mechanical properties. With the durable press finish with BTCA tensile, bending, shear and compression properties increased. In hand values, Stiffness Crispness and Anti-Drape Stiffness increased, and Fullness & Softness decreased. Whereas silicone treatment reduced bending and shear properties and improved tensile and compressional resilience. Thus, Stiffness Crispness and Anti-Drape Stiffness decreased, and Fullness & Softness increased. These results indicated that BTCA treatment restricts fiber/yarn mobility in the fabric structure due to crosslinking, but silicone treatment reduces inter-fiber and inter-yarn frictional forces. Therefore, finish with mixture of BTCA and silicone provided cotton fabrics with a lower Stiffness, Crispness and Anti-Drape Stiffness and a higher Fullness & Softnesss than finish with BTCA alone.

  • Parallel manipulators have been used to a variety of applications, including the motion simulators and mechanism for precise machining. A Stewart-Gough type parallel manipulator is composed of six linear joints which have wider contact areas than revolute ones, so linear joints are more affected by frictional force. First, the reference trajectories are computed from the model of the parallel manipulator assuming that it is subject to only the gravitational force and no friction exists. In the actual operation where friction exists, the control inputs, which correspond to the friction forces, are obtained by forcing the actual joint variables to follow these trojectories by proper control. It is shown that control performance can be improved when the friction compensation based on this information is added to the controller for position control of the moving plate of a parallel manipulator.

가변속 왕복동형 압축기 크랭크축-베어링계의 동적 거동 해석 (Dynamic Behavior Analysis of a Crankshaft-Bearing System in Variable Speed Reciprocating Compressor)

  • The hermetic reciprocating compressor driven by the BLDC motor rotating with variable speeds, is modelled and analyzed for dynamic characteristics. The governing equations of piston, connecting rod and crank-shaft of the reciprocating compression mechanism and characteristics of driving torque of the motor are obtained. Dynamic behavior of the crankshaft supported on 2 journal bearings is analyzed considering compression load and eccentric unbalance for the 4 rotating speeds of crankshaft. And. reaction forces generated from oil film in the journal bearings are analyzed under transient condition using Reynolds' equation. To take into account the dynamic characteristics depending on the variable rotating speeds, comparison on the dynamic behavior of crank-shaft is made for the 4 operating modes of the compressor. Results show that the magnitude of crankshaft locioperating on the lower rotating speeds is more larger than the higher ones due to reduction of inertia force of the reciprocating piston.
