In this work, we find the genera of arithmetic subgroups $\langle{\Gamma}_{\Delta}(N),{\Phi}\rangle$ of $GL_2^+(\mathbb{R})$ generated by congruence subgroup ${\Gamma}_{\Delta}(N)$ and the Fricke involution $\Phi$.

In this paper, we consider characters of $SL_2(\mathbb{Z})$ and then apply them to newforms of integral weight, level 4 and of trivial character. More precisely, we prove that all of them are actually level 1 forms of some nontrivial character. As a byproduct, we prove that they all are eigenfunctions of the Fricke involution with eigenvalue -1.

The purpose of this paper is to find expressions of the Fricke spaces of some basic surfaces which are a three-holed sphere ${\sum}$(0, 3), a one-holed torus ${\sum}$(1, 1), and a four-holed sphere ${\sum}$(0, 4). For this goal, we define the involutions corresponding to oriented axes of loxodromic elements and an inner product <,> which gives the information about locations of axes of loxodromic elements. The signs of traces of holonomy elements, which are calculated by lifting a representation from PSL(2, $\mathbb{C}$) to SL(2, $\mathbb{C}$), play a very important role in determining the discreteness of holonomy groups.

We find congruence properties on the coefficients of modular forms for ${\Gamma}^+_0(5)$ generated by ${\Gamma}_0(5)$ and a Fricke involution $\(_{5\;0}^{0\;-1}\)$.
