  • 다변수 제어시스템의 최적 PI동조에 관한 연구는 난해하기 때문에 일반적인 방법으로 접근하기 힘들다. 본 논문에서는 다변수 시스템을 2-입력, 2-출력의 2차시스템을 고려하여 PI제어요소가 포함된 폐루프 상태방정식과 LQR의 폐루프 상태방정식의 관계를 유도하는 루프형성절차를 통해 주파수 영역 설계사양과 만족할 수 있도록 가격함수의 가중치 요소 Q와 R을 선정함으로써 성능 및 안정도-강인성이 보장되는 분산된 최적 강인 PI제어기 설계방법을 제안하고자 한다.

Low Phase Noise CMOS VCO with Hybrid Inductor

  • A low phase noise CMOS voltage controlled oscillator(VCO) for multi-band/multi-standard RF Transceivers is presented. For both wide tunability and low phase noise characteristics, Hybrid inductor which uses both bondwire inductor and planar spiral inductor in the same area, is proposed. This approach reduces inductance variation and presents high quality factor without custom-designed single-turn inductor occupying large area, which improves phase noise and tuning range characteristics without additional area loss. An LC VCO is designed in a 0.13um CMOS technology to demonstrate the hybrid inductor concept. The measured phase noise is -121dBc/Hz at 400KHz offset and -142dBc/Hz at 3MHz offset from a 900MHz carrier frequency after divider. The tuning range of about 28%(3.15 to 4.18GHz) is measured. The VCO consumes 7.5mA from 1.3V supply and meets the requirements for GSM/EDGE and WCDMA standard.

  • This paper presents an optimal tuning method of the decentralized PI controller of two-input, two-output(TITO) second order system to be formulated as LQR. The tuning method of proposed decentralized PI controller is developed by establishing the relationships between the closed-loop state equation including decentralized PI control factors and the closed-loop state equation of LQR, which can be guaranteed the performance and stability-robustness by selecting the weighting factors Q and R of the cost function in order to satisfy design specifications in frequency domain.

  • This paper presents a tuning-free conditional integration anti-windup strategy for induction machine with Proportional-Integral (PI) type speed controller. The on/off condition of integral action is determined by the frequency domain analysis of machine torque command without a prior knowledge of set-point changes. There are no tuning parameters to be selected by users for anti-windup scheme. In addition, the dynamic performance of the proposed scheme assures a desired tracking response curve with minimal oscillation and settling time even in the change of operating conditions. This algorithm is useful in many high performance induction machine applications not to allow the oscillation and overshoot of speed/torque responses. The main idea can be extended to general applications such as chemical processes and industrial robots.

  • Recently, two degrees of freedom PID control systems have attracted attention, because of their better process control quality for both set point variable tracking and disturbance resistivity than that of conventional PID control systems. This paper describes a new auto-tuning method for the two degrees of freedom PID control system based on a newly developed model matching method in the frequency domain. This new method has been introduced into a two degrees of freedom PID auto-tuning controller, named AdTune TOSDIC-21D8. The superior features of the controller and the results of field tests Are presented.

  • In this paper, Thin film bulk acoustic resonate.(TFBAR) fillers tuned by gold plated on-wafer inductors are presented. The air-gap type TEBAR is used with aluminum nitride(AIN) as piezoelectric material and platinum as top and bottom electrodes. Inductor equivalent model and modified Butterworth-Van Dyke(MBVD) model are employed for the frequency tuning of fabricated TFBAR bandpass filters. Fabricated inductor has inductance of 3 nH and Q factor of about 8 at 2 ㎓. It is clearly revealed that inductor tuning can enhance the bandwidth of ladder filters and improve out-of-band rejection characteristic around 10㏈.

  • AVR parameter tuning for voltage control of generators has generally been done with the off-line open-circuit model of the synchronous generator. When the generator is connected on-line and operating with load the AVR operates in an entirely different environment from the open-circuit conditions. This paper describes a new method for AVR parameter tuning for on line conditions using SQP(Sequential Quadratic Programming) meshed with frequency response characteristics of linearized on-line system model. As the proposed method uses the un - line system model the tuned parameter sets show more optimal behavior in the on-line operating conditions. furthermore, as this method considers the performance indices that are needed for stable operation as constraints, AVR parameter sets that are tuned by this method could guarantee the stable performance, too.

Passive vibration control of plan-asymmetric buildings using tuned liquid column gas dampers

  • The sealed, tuned liquid column gas damper (TLCGD) with gas-spring effect extends the frequency range of application up to about 5 Hz and efficiently increases the modal structural damping. In this paper the influence of several TLCGDs to reduce coupled translational and rotational vibrations of plan-asymmetric buildings under wind or seismic loads is investigated. The locations of the modal centers of velocity of rigidly assumed floors are crucial to select the design and the optimal position of the liquid absorbers. TLCGD's dynamics can be derived in detail using the extended non-stationary Bernoulli's equation for moving reference systems. Modal tuning of the TLCGD renders the optimal parameters by means of a geometrical transformation and in analogy to the classical tuned mass damper (TMD). Subsequently, fine-tuning is conveniently performed in the state space domain. Numerical simulations illustrate a significant reduction of the vibrations of plan-asymmetric buildings by the proposed TLCGDs.

  • 본 논문에서는 종단판 프로브와 동조 포스트가 포함된 동축선 대 캐비티 필터의 특성을 3차원의 시간영역 유한차분(3-D FDTD) 방법에 의해서 계산하였다. 이 필터는 캐비티 안으로 삽입된 동축선의 내부도체가 복사체 역학을 하며, 사각혀 ㅇ동조 포스트의 높이에 의해서 공진주파수를 결정하게 되는 구조이다. 이러한 필터 특성의 계산값과 실제 제작된 필터의 측정값을 비교하여 이 해석 방법의 유용성을 확인하였다.

디지털 제어 발진기의 전력소모 최적화 설계기법 (A Design Procedure of Digitally Controlled Oscillator for Power Optimization)

  • 본 논문에서는 디지털 제어 발진기의 전력소모를 최적화하는 설계기법을 제안한다. 디지털 제어 발진기의 Coarse tuning 비트수와 Fine tuning 비트수를 조절하여 LSB Resolution, 주파수 범위, 선형성, 이식성에는 영향을 주지 않고 전력소모를 최적화한다. 이를 위해 제어 비트에 따른 디지털 제어 발진기의 전력소모 변화를 분석하였다. 본 논문에서는 0.13um 1.2V CMOS 라이브러리를 이용하여 제안한 설계기법을 적용한 경우와 그렇지 않은 경우를 모두 설계, 모의실험 및 검증하였다. 제안한 설계기법을 적용한 디지털 제어 발진기는 모의실험결과 283MHz부터 1.1GHz의 클록을 생성할 수 있으며, LSB Resolution은 1.7ps이다. 디지털 제어 발진기의 출력 주파수가 1GHz일 때 전력소모는 2.789mW이다.
