  • With the introduction of 'Reading One Book a Semester' in the 2015 curriculum, more and more activities are being done to read the same books on a classroom basis. Accordingly, librarians need to properly support the teacher's book recommendation and book selection process, which consists of classes. This study aims to establish effective school library services based on this by identifying differences in elementary school students' reading interests when reading a book recommended by a teacher in the class. To this end, all students of A Elementary School were given a book selection class by class to select one of the teacher's recommended books, and students were interested in reading before and after reading. As a result, students who read the books they chose showed higher 'interest after reading' than those who read the books they did not choose. However, students who had high 'interest before reading' even though they read books they did not choose showed high 'interest after reading'. 'Interest before reading' were higher for students who were provided with book information evenly and used the school library more frequently. Therefore, librarians need to provide a variety of book information and services to increase the frequency of school library use to increase 'interest before reading', which positively affects self-selective reading.

  • In this paper, by applying LTCC substrate, the library of the passive elements is implemented. And it can be used in 24 GHz circuits. Depending on how to use it to the circuit, it is required large value by designing the basic structures such as electrode capacitor and spiral inductor. However they are not available in high-frequency domain, because their SRF(Self-Resonant Frequency) is lower than the frequency of 24-GHz. By solving the limit, this paper devised passive elements classified for the DC and the high-frequency domain. The basic structure is suitable for low frequency under 1~2 GHz like DC. The microstrip λ/8 length stub structure is proposed to use for high-frequency like 24-GHz. The open and short stub structure operate as a capacitor and inductor respectively, also they have their impedances. Through their impedances, we can extract the value with the impedance-related equation. In this paper, the proposed passive elements are produced with the permittivity 7.5 LTCC substrate, the basic structure which are available in the DC constituted a library of capacitance of 2.35 to 30.44 pF and inductance of 0.75 to 5.45 nH, measured respectively. The stub structure available in the high-frequency domain were built libraries of capacitance of 0.44 to 2.89 pF and inductance of 0.71 to 1.56 nH, calculated respectively. The measurements have proven how to diversify value, so libraries can be built more variously. It will be an alternative to the passive elements that it is possible to integrate with the operation circuit of radar module for the frequency 24-GHz.

  • This paper suggest an effective idea to implement an low area multi-mode one dimension transform block of HEVC(High Efficiency Video Coding). The time consuming multiplier path is designed to operate on low frequency. Normal multipliers dealing with variable operands are replaced with smaller constant multipliers which do the product with constant coefficient and variable only using shifters and adders. This scheme increases total multiplier counts but entire areas are reduced owing to smaller area of constant multiplier. Idle cycles caused by doubled multipliers enable to use multi-cycle paths on the cycle eating multiplier data path. Operating frequency is lowered by multi-cycle path but total throughput is maintained. This structure is implemented with TSMC 0.18 CMOS process library, and operated on 186MHz frequency to process a 4k($3840{\times}2160$) image. Max operating frequency is 300MHz.

  • This study aims to compare the awareness of the social value of public libraries between users and non-users to materialize the abstract concept of social value and, thereby, to present measures that can be applied to the library field. For this purpose, a survey was conducted in person or online for 15 days from May 7, 2023, targeting Paju citizens. Frequency analysis, factor analysis, independent samples t-test, and one-way analysis of variance were conducted on 206 valid response copies using SPSS 25.0. In the results, it is shown that, first, for awareness of the social value of public libraries according to socio-demographic characteristics, there were significant differences depending on age, with in particular, awareness among those in their 10s and 40s being higher than other age groups. For awareness of community development, the awareness of the female group was higher than that of the male group, while, for the awareness according to occupation, it is shown that awareness was highest in the following order: student, others, housewife, self-employed, and office worker. Second, for the awareness of the social value of public libraries, the awareness of the user group was higher than that of the non-user group in all areas. Third, for awareness of the social value of public libraries according to the level of library use, there was no significant difference between groups. In conclusion, it is suggested that measures to encourage non-users to become users, develop new content and services targeting male group and those in their 60s, and 20s, and strengthen community activities are needed to raise awareness of the social value of Paju City public libraries in the future.

  • The purpose of this study is to clarify the spatial characteristics of the children's library and user's behavioral characteristics and to empirically analyze the difference in preference of the spatial characteristics based on the using behaviors. For doing this, this study selected 16 children's libraries in the country as a sampling institute and collected and analyzed 661 questionnaires targeting infants, and the lower and upper graders. The results of analysis are as follows. First, while there was a difference in the relation between the spatial characteristics and the user's characteristics according to ages and sexes, there was no difference in the developing stage. Second, there was a difference in the relation between the spatial characteristics and the using behaviors. Detailed results are as follows. While users who visit the library for reading prefer amenity and peacefulness, those who visit the library for other reasons prefer communication and territoriality. Children prefer diversity, peacefulness and communication when they visit in group rather than to visit individually. In terms of behavioral patterns, users who act quietly prefer diversity than those who act actively. Reading use frequency, as the number of times to visit increased, preference on esthetic sense, dynamics, flexibility, leisure, communication and territoriality increased, but preference on safety decreased. As the length of visit became longer, preference on diversity, self-esteem, peacefulness, dynamics and flexibility increased.
