강낭콩에서 종자전염된 Bean Common Mosaic Virus의 분류동정에 관한 연구 (Identification of Bean Common Mosaic Virus Obtained from Seeds of Phaseolus vulgaris)

  • 강낭콩에서 종자전염된 바이러스병을 동정하기 위하여 각지역 농가 및 시장에서 종자를 수집파종하여 종자전염을 조사한 결과 수원, 장수, 진주에서 채집한 종자가 $2.0\~3.5\%$ 이병되어 있었으며 종자전염된 바이러스를 지표식물에 접종한 결과 강낭콩에 상엽에 모자익, Chenopodium quinoa의 접종엽에 대형의 국부병반이 형성되었다. Dip법에 의하여 시료를 제작하여 입자를 관찰한 결과 약 750nm의 계상입자가 관찰되었다. 이병 강낭콩의 조직에서 Cylinder와 Pinwheel형 및 bundle형의 봉입체(Inclusion hody)가 관찰되었다. 복숭아진딧물에 의하여 충매전염 되었으며 즙액전염된 이병주로부터 채집한 종자의 전염율은 $18.2\%$였다. 물리적성질은 내희석성이 $1,000\~5,000$배 였으며 내보존성은 실온에서 $2\~3$일, 내열성은 $55\~60^{\circ}C$였다. 항혈청검정 결과 혼합침강반응에서 양성의 반응을 나타냈으며 SDS처리에 의한 한천내이중확산법에서 BCMV 항혈청과 band를 형성하였으며 AzMV와는 spur가 형성되지 않았으며 CAMV와는 spur를 형성하였다. 이상의 결과로 강낭콩에서 종자전염된 바이러스는 Bean common mosaic virus로 동정되었다.

  • Horizontal starch gel electrophoresis, follow by enzyrne-specific staining, separate and visualize several legume esterase isozyme. Using extracts prepared from cotyledon, radicle and plumule of legume seedlings germinated 5 days. The results were as follows. 1. The number and staining intensity of esterase isozyme bands varies depending on the plant species. tissues and developmental stage. 2. Bands in the cotyledon of field bean seedling expressed 4 and 1 in radicle. 3. In soybean cultivars, cotyledon of IIwangkum-kong had 3 bands and 1 band in the examined tissues of Paldal-kong and Jangkyung-kong seedling. 4. The cotyledon and radicle of french bean seedling had 3 bands, respectively. 5. The highest esterase isozyme activity appears to be expressed in the cotyledon and radicle of french bean, as indicated by intensity of stain, with the Paldal-kong particulary active.

기름 종류를 달리한 양파 첨가 프렌치 드레싱의 품질특성 (Quality Characteristics of Onion with Added French Dressing Composed of Different Oils)

  • This study was carried out to determine the best mixing ratio of French dressing containing onion juice which was added at with different levels (12, 24, 36, and 48%). The mixing methods of ingredients were evaluated through sensory evaluation and viscosity and color of were measured. Instead of soy bean oil, we also studied various oils(corn oil, grape seed oil, canola oil, and olive oil) for the purpose of determining functional French dressing. The results were as follows; The results of the sensory evaluation showed that the French dressing with 36% added with 36% onion juice was the preferred most in appearance, flavor, and overall preference. Correlation coefficients between overall preference and sensory characteristics of onion added French dressing were higher in the order of taste (r=0.64), flavor (r=0.54), texture (r=0.48), appearance (r=0.41). The quality of French dressing varied greatly depending on the mixing methods of ingredients. The best method for making dressing was mixing 5 mL of oil with the other ingredients at 5 seconds intervals. The results of the sensory evaluation on French dressings with added onion juice containing soybean oil, corn oil, grape seed oil, canola oil, and olive oil, indicated that soybean oil was the most preferable. The appearance and taste of French dressing containing soybean oil were significantly the highest with regard to preference.

흰 토끼풀에서 분리한 강낭콩황반모자이크 바이러스의 동정 (Identication of Bean Yellow Mosaic Virus from Trifolium repens)

  • 흰토끼풀에 황색모자이크병징을 나타내는 이병주를 채집하여 병즙액의 지표식물반응과 물리적 성질조사, 풍매전염시험, 바이러스입자의 형태관찰 그리고 항혈청반응 등의 방법으로 병원바이러스의 동정을 시도한 결과 강낭콩황반모자이크바이러스(BYMV)로 밝혀졌다. 공시병원바이러스의 지표식물반응은 명아주에 전체국부반응, 잠두의 접종엽에 국부반응, 줄기와 상위엽에 각각 양저증상과 모자이크반응을 보였으며, 강남콩에는 엽맥양저, 황색모자이크 또는 축엽이 되고 순이 고사하였다. 또한 완두, 녹두, 팥과 red clover에는 모자이크 반응을 나타냈다. 바이러스입자의 형태 및 크기는 740nm정도의 사상입자이며, 복숭아혹진딧물에 의하여 전염이 가능하였다. 바이러스병즙액의 생리적 성질은 내열성이 $60\~65^{\circ}C$, 내희석성이 $10^{-3}\;-\;10^{-4}$, 내보존성이 3일이었다. 순화된 공시바이러스는 일본 식물바이러스 연구소로부터 분양받은 BYMV항혈청과의 혼합침강반응결과 양성반응을 보였다.

협채용 강낭콩 신품종 "황협2호" (A New Pod Edible Kidney Bean Variety "Hwanghyeob 2" with Yellow Pod Color)

  • 황협2호는 2000년에 강낭콩 도입유전자원인 KLG50073와 KLG50072를 인공교배하여 얻어진 YK5을 온실과 포장에서 세대단축을 하면서 선발된 계통으로, '05년 3월과 8월에 온실에서 재배하여 생육특성과 협채수량을 검정하였고 수량성이 우수하여 협채용 강낭콩 신품종 "황협3호"로 선정되었다. 1. 신육형은 유한형이며 화색은 백색이고 배축은 녹색이다. 채협기의 협색은 황색이고, 성숙시 협색은 담황색이다. 협모양은 C자형으로 약간 굽었고, 종피는 백색이다. 2. 개화일수는 43일, 성숙일수는 49일 이었고, 경장은 41 cm, 주경절수 8.7개, 분지수 4.4개, 협수는 27개이었으며, 100립중은 20.4 g이었다. 협채수확기의 협모양은 둥글며, 길이는 비슷하고 다소 가는 편이다. 3. 단백질과 지방은 각각 19.0%, 0.5%였으며, 당함량 중 Sucrose와 Glucose는 각각 3.2%, 18.6%였고, Vitamin C의 함량은 건조시료 100 g중 157.8 mg이었다. 특히 후기까지 개화 및 착협이 양호한 지속 수확형이며 다수성 계통이었다. 4. '04춘계 '05춘계 및 추계에 온실에서 3회 재배한 협채 수량 평균은 22.43톤/ha로 강낭콩 1호보다 11% 증수되었다. 5. 황협2호는 시설재배로 전국에서 재배될 수 있으며 결주 방지를 위한 육묘이식 재배와 생육기간 내내 충분한 토양수분 유지가 필요하다.

Preference Test on Feed and Nutrient Intakes in Male and Female Lesser Mouse Deer (Tragulus Javanicus) in Captivity

  • A preference test on feed and nutrient intakes were conducted on four male ($1.25{\pm}0.08kg$) and four female ($1.21{\pm}0.15kg$) lesser mouse deer (Tragulus javanicus) in captivity. Each animal was kept in individual cages placed in a well-ventilated animal house. The experiment was conducted in two weeks, where the first week was for adaptation to the feeds and the second week for measurements of nutrient intake, nutrient digestibility and nitrogen balance. The feeds offered were kangkong (Ipomoea aquatica), long bean (Vigna sinensis) and french bean (Phaseolus vulgaris) as roughages and proteinaceous feeds; sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas) and carrot (Daucus carota) as carbohydrate-rich feeds; and commercial rabbit pellet (0.3 cm diameter and 0.5 cm long) as a complete feed. The dry matter (DM) content of each feed in the order mentioned above was 7.1, 6.1, 3.9, 18.5, 6.2 and 87.6%, respectively. Long bean had the highest protein (CP) content (29.7%), while sweet potato had the lowest (6.2%). The CP contents of other feeds were within the range of 14.2 - 25.1%. Among the feeds, carrot had the lowest energy content (3.83 kcal/g) and long bean the highest (4.67 kcal/g). When fresh weight of the feed was considered, the male mouse deer consumed sweet potato the most ($86.3{\pm}12.90g/d$), but the female had a high preference for carrot ($79.2{\pm}9.76g/d$). The other feeds were consumed in lesser amounts. However, in terms of DM of the feed, the amount of commercial pellet consumed was the highest for both male ($45.0{\pm}5.10%$) and female ($44.7{\pm}7.38%$) mouse deer, followed by sweet potato ($33.1{\pm}4.43%$ and $22.4{\pm}7.73%$ for male and female, respectively). Significant (p<0.05) differences in DM, organic matter (OM) and gross energy (GE) intakes were observed between male and female mouse deer. The male consumed higher amount of DM, OM and GE than the female. The total DM intake was $40.7{\pm}2.24g/d/kg$ $W^{0.75}$ for male and $35.9{\pm}1.72g/d/kg$ $W^{0.75}$ for female mouse deer. Percentage digestibilities of DM, OM, CP and GE were within 72.7~80.8% and were not significantly different between male and female mouse deer. However, male mouse deer had significantly (p<0.05) higher digestible DM, OM and GE intakes than the female. Both male and female mouse deer were in positive nitrogen balance (0.6 g N/d/kg $W^{0.75}$). The male mouse deer gained $7.6{\pm}3.45g/d$, while the female gained $4.3{\pm}2.40g/d$.

국내 소재업체의 패션정보 수집 대상 선호 브랜드에 관한 연구 (Main Fashion Brands Subject to Investigation by the Textile Firms for the Purpose of the Development of New Textiles)

  • The purpose of this paper is to examine which fashion brands are most likely to be investigated by Korean textile firms when they conduct their market trend analyses. The result shows that for the domestic sales, textile firms are most likely to collect and analyze information on the Cheil Textil Co. It is followed by Bean Pole, Chanel, Buberry, Tomboy. For the future domestic sales, textile firms prefers referring foreign fashion brands such as Burberry, ZARA, MaxMara, Missoni, and Chanel. Textile firms majoring exports prefers collecting and analyzing information on D&G followed by Chanel, Gucci, and DKNY. This preference, however, differs when considering exporting areas. Textile firms targeting the French market considers Gucci, followed by Ferragamo, Dior, Louisvuitton. Textile firms targeting the Italian market prefer Chanel, followed by Valentine, ZARA, Gucci, and Armani. Chanel is also top brand for the North American and Japanese markets, and followed by GAP, ZARA, OZOC, Missoni, Munshing Wear. The information content collected and analyzed by textile firms is style, pattern, color, and textile materials for textile firms targeting the domestic sales, while the exporting firms prefer information on color and textile materials proposed and presented by the fashion brands to which they prefer to make reference. The result of this study can be used to effectively and efficiently collect and analyze market information on fashion brands for textile firms majoring the domestic and foreign sales.

Comparison of Dietary Habit and Food Consumption among Elementary School Students with or without Rhinitis and Sinusitis

  • Rhinitis and sinusitis are among the most common medical conditions in Korea, as well as Western societies. Environmental factors may influence both rhinitis and sinusitis; however, the role of dietary factors in rhinitis and sinusitis is not clear. The present study aims to compare the dietary habit, food consumption frequency, and food preference of elementary school students with or without rhinitis and sinusitis. The demand of their parents for an education program for the dietary prevention against rhinitis and sinusitis was also examined. The survey was conducted with a total of 200 subjects recruited from two elementary schools located in Gyeonggi area of Korea. The subjects consisted of 101 students with rhinitis and/or sinusitis (RS group) and 99 without rhinitis and sinusitis (control group). The students of the RS group were more likely to have habits of eating-out and street food use, to consume bean, peanut, walnut, almond, yogurt, egg, snack, and French fries frequently, and to prefer the types of foods prepared by stir-frying and deep-frying than the control group. The parents who recognized 'school nutrition teachers or food/nutrition-majored specialists' as the most appropriate educator for the dietary education program in the RS group (48.5% of their parents) were less than those in the control group (67.7% of their parents). The present study suggest that students with rhinitis and/or sinusitis may be different from those without the disease(s) in their dietary habit, frequently consumed foods, and preferred type of foods. More epidemiological, intervention, and laboratory studies are needed in order to elucidate the role of dietary factors in the development and prevention of rhinitis and sinusitis, which will have a significant implication to public health.
