자유 음장에서 빔형성 방법을 이용한 음향 임피던스 측정 (Measurement of the acoustic impedance by using beamforming method in a free-field)

  • In this paper, a beamforming technique is introduced to measure the acoustic impedance at both normal and oblique incidence in a free field. The acoustic impedance is obtained by separating incident and reflected signals using the adaptive nulling method which is one of the various beamforming algorithms. To obtain better results, pressure vector commonly used in array signal processing is replaced with the transfer function vector between each microphone and the white Gaussian noise is suppressed by a wavelet shrinkage technique. The experiments conducted in a semi-anechoic room show that the proposed method is efficient and accurate in measuring the acoustic impedance of sound absorbing materials under a free field condition.

Classification of metals inducing filed aided lateral crystallization (FALC) of amorphous silicon

  • The effects of various metals on Field Aided Lateral Crystallization (FALC) behaviors of amorphous silicon (a-Si) were investigated. Under an influence of electric field, metals such s Cu, Ni and Co were found to fasten the lateral crystallization toward a metal-free region, exhibiting a typical FALC behavior while the lateral crystallization of a-Si was not obvious for Pd. However, Au, Al and Cr did not induce the lateral crystallization of a-Si in metal-free region. Such phenomenological differences in various metals were studied in terms of dominant diffusing species (DDS) in the reaction between metal and Si. It was judged that the applied electric field enhanced the crystallization velocity by accelerating the diffusion of metal atoms since the occurrence of lateral crystallization would be strongly dependent on the diffusion of metal atoms than that of Si atoms. Therefore, it was concluded that he only metal-dominant diffusing species in the reaction between metal and Si results in the crystallization of a-Si in metal-free region.

Disposable in-field electrochemical potable sensor system for free available chlorine (FAC) detection

  • The work described in this study concerns the development of a disposable amperometric sensor for the electrochemical detection of a well-known aqueous pollutant, free available chlorine (FAC). The FAC sensor developed used screen printed carbon electrodes (SPCEs) coupled with immobilised syringaldazine, commonly used as an indicator in photometric FAC detection, which was directly immobilised on the surface of SPCEs using a photopolymer PVA-SbQ. To enable in-field analysis of FAC, a prototype hand-held electrochemical analyzer has been developed to withstand the environment with its rugged design and environmentally sealed connections; it operates from two PP3 (9 volt) batteries and is comparable in accuracy and sensitivity to commercial bench top systems. The sensitivity of the FAC sensor developed was $3.5{\;}nA{\mu}M^{-1}cm^{-2}$ and the detection limit for FAC was found to be $2.0{\;}{\mu}M$.

월성원전 구조물의 지진응답 특성 분석 (Analysis of Seismic Response Characteristics for Wolsong Nuclear Power Plant Structures)

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate the seismic response characteristics of Wolsong nuclear power plant (NPP) structures for the Kyeongju earthquake(ML=4.3) occurred on June 26, 1997. The seismograms are obtained from five accelerographs of nuclear power plant at Wolsong, Kyeongbuk. The distance from the epicenter is about 25km. The peak acceleration (PA) due to the earthquake is 0.0235g, which is far lower value than that of design basis earthquake(DBE). The PA at the containment wall is about twice as large as that at free field. Also, the higher the accelerograph is located in, the larger the PA is measured to be From the response spectrum analysis, the dominant frequency of the response is close to 4 Hz, which is similar to the free field is poor because of contamination by high frequency waves as a result of reflection and diffraction between ground and NPP structure. We are of opinion that the accelerograph at the free field should be moved approximately twice the building dimension away from the containment structure.

음장과 외이도 내부에서의 음성 비교 (The comparison of the voice between the free field and the external auditory canal)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine some acoustic characteristics in the ear canal. It was assumed that a sound outside the external auditory canal could be different from the sound inside the external auditory canal. The acoustic signals were captured by a probe microphone placed at a distance within 1 cm from the tympanic membrane, and a reference microphone was placed over the upper pinna. Three vowels /a/, /i/, /u/ were recorded from a normal adult male speaker. The parameters such as the formant frequency ($Fl\simF5$) and the peak intensity were measured using a speech analyser, PCquirer. It was found that the entering part of the external auditory canal functions as a narrowing point as to the speech that passes through the free field. Results show that acoustic characteristics were changed for speech discrimination rather than speech perception.

Finite element formulations for free field one-dimensional shear wave propagation

  • Dynamic equilibrium equations for finite element analysis were derived for the free field one-dimensional shear wave propagation through the horizontally layered soil deposits with the elastic half-space. We expressed Rayleigh's viscous damping consisting of mass and stiffness proportional terms. We considered two cases where damping matrices are defined in the total and relative displacement fields. Two forms of equilibrium equations are presented; one in terms of total motions and the other in terms of relative motions. To evaluate the performance of new equilibrium equations, we conducted two sets of site response analyses and directly compared them with the exact closed-form frequency domain solution. Results show that the base shear force as earthquake load represents the simpler form of equilibrium equation to be used for the finite element method. Conventional finite element procedure using base acceleration as earthquake load predicts exact solution reasonably well even in soil deposits with unrealistically high damping.

  • 사회 각 분야에서 관련 주제에 대한 보다 직접적인 정보를 수집하고 분석하기 위하여 빅데이터 분석이 활발하게 활용되고 있다. 우리나라에서 사회적 관심과 파급 효과가 큰 교육 분야에서도 빅데이터 분석 기술을 활용하여 교육이나 정책의 효과를 파악하고 정책 수립에 활용하는 것에 관심이 높아지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 교육 분야에서 빅데이터 분석 기술을 활용하는 방안을 소개하고자 한다. 현재 핵심 교육정책 중의 하나인 자유학기제에 초점을 두고, 각 학교가 작성한 운영계획서에 대해 텍스트 분석과 시각화를 통하여 주요 관심 사항과 차이점에 대해 살펴보았다. 특히 서울과 강원도 지역의 중학교 자유학기제 운영계획서를 대상으로 지역적으로 주요 특성과 관심 사항이 서로 다르다는 것을 비교하였다. 본 연구는 빅데이터 분석 기술을 교육 분야의 필요와 요구에 따라 적용하고 활용하였다는 것에 큰 의의가 있다.

  • MTJ devices are fabricated using metal shadow masks and switching characteristics are investigated under 2 dimensional magnetic field. When the hard axis field is less than $\pm$ 16 Oe, switching behavior is similar to that based on the Stoner-Wohlfarth model. As the hard axis field is larger than $\pm$ 16 Oe, deviation from the expectation by Stoner-Wohlfarth model is observed. These phenomena are induced by the generation of multi-domain and inhomogeneous magnetization reversal.

GIS내 금속이물 존재시 절연특성 (The Insulation Characteristics by Conducting Particle in GIS)

  • This paper describes the influence of conducting particle in the coaxial cylindrical electrodes under alternating voltage condition investigated using breakdown electric field and electro magnetics simulation method. Simulated particle-location in GIS chamber were the particle on electrode, the particle on enclosure and free moving particle. As results, it was founded that in case of breakdown electric field of the GIS chamber, breakdown electric field of particle on electrode was the lowest, that of free moving particle was middle and that of particle on enclosure was the highest. And in case of the electric field analysis with particle locations, electric field of particle on electrode was the highest that of lifted particle was middle and that of particle on enclosure was the lowest. This results can offer a practical reference ra the insulation design of domestic GIS.
