입상 활성탄에 의한 Coomassi Brilliant Blue G의 흡착에 대한 평형, 동력학 및 열역학에 관한 연구 (Study on Equilibrium, Kinetic and Thermodynamic for Adsorption of Coomassi Brilliant Blue G Using Activated Carbon)

  • 본 연구에서는 활성탄을 사용하여 coomassi brilliant blue G (CBBG)염료를 흡착하는데 필요한 흡착평형과 흡착동역학 및 열역학 파라미터들에 대하여 조사하였다. 등온흡착평형관계로 부터 Langmuir 식과 Freundlich 식의 분리계수를 평가하여 활성탄에 의한 CBBG의 흡착조작이 유효한 처리방법이 될 수 있음을 알았고, Dubinin-Radushkevich 식으로부터 흡착공정이 물리흡착공정임을 알았다. 흡착공정에 대한 동력학적 해석을 통해 흡착반응은 유사이차반응속도식이 유사일차반응속 도식에 비해 일치도가 높은 것으로 나타났으며, 입자내확산이 흡착공정의 지배단계임을 알았다. 유사이차반응속도식을 적용한 열역학적 해석을 통해 평가된 엔탈피 변화값(406.12 kJ/mol)으로부터 흡착공정이 흡열반응으로 진행됨을 알았다. 또한 엔트로피 변화값(1.66 kJ/mol K)은 흡착공정의 무질서도가 증가한다는 것을 나타내었다. 온도가 올라갈수록 자유에너지 값이 감소하는 경향을 보인 것은 활성탄에 대한 CBBG의 흡착반응은 온도가 올라갈수록 자발성이 높아지는 것으로 판단되었다.

Effects of Starvation on Lipid Metabolism and Gluconeogenesis in Yak

  • This research was conducted to investigate the physiological consequences of undernourished yak. Twelve Maiwa yak ($110.3{\pm}5.85kg$) were randomly divided into two groups (baseline and starvation group). The yak of baseline group were slaughtered at day 0, while the other group of yak were kept in shed without feed but allowed free access to water, salt and free movement for 9 days. Blood samples of the starvation group were collected on day 0, 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 9 and the starved yak were slaughtered after the final blood sample collection. The liver and muscle glycogen of the starvation group decreased (p<0.01), and the lipid content also decreased while the content of moisture and ash increased (p<0.05) both in Longissimus dorsi and liver compared with the baseline group. The plasma insulin and glucose of the starved yak decreased at first and then kept stable but at a relatively lower level during the following days (p<0.01). On the contrary, the non-esterified fatty acids was increased (p<0.01). Beyond our expectation, the ketone bodies of ${\beta}$-hydroxybutyric acid and acetoacetic acid decreased with prolonged starvation (p<0.01). Furthermore, the mRNA expression of lipogenetic enzyme fatty acid synthase and lipoprotein lipase in subcutaneous adipose tissue of starved yak were down-regulated (p<0.01), whereas the mRNA expression of lipolytic enzyme carnitine palmitoyltransferase-1 and hormone sensitive lipase were up-regulated (p<0.01) after 9 days of starvation. The phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase and pyruvate carboxylase, responsible for hepatic gluconeogenesis were up-regulated (p<0.01). It was concluded that yak derive energy by gluconeogenesis promotion and fat storage mobilization during starvation but without ketone body accumulation in the plasma.

염료감응 태양전지의 비백금 상대전극을 위한 니켈 나노입자-흑연질 탄소나노섬유 복합체 (Ni Nanoparticles-Graphitic Carbon Nanofiber Composites for Pt-Free Counter Electrode in Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells)

  • Ni nanoparticles (NPs)-graphitic carbon nanofiber (GCNF) composites were fabricated using an electrospinning method. The amounts of Ni precursor used as catalyst for the catalytic graphitization were controlled at 0, 2, 5, and 8 wt% to improve the photovoltaic performances of the nanoparticles and make them suitable for use as counter electrodes for dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs). As a result, Ni NPs-GCNF composites that were fabricated with 8 wt% Ni precursors showed a high circuit voltage (0.73 V), high photocurrent density ($14.26mA/cm^2$), and superb power-conversion efficiency (6.72%) when compared to those characteristics of other samples. These performance improvements can be attributed to the reduced charge transport resistance that results from the synergetic effect of the superior catalytic activity of Ni NPs and the efficient charge transfer due to the formation of GCNF with high electrical conductivity. Thus, Ni NPs-GCNF composites may be used as promising counter electrodes in DSSCs.

  • 높은 비표면적을 갖는 carbon과 유기용매 전해질 사이의 계면에서 생기는 전기이중층용량을 기본으로 작동하는 전기이중층 캐패시터는 IC memories, microcomputer 등으로 폭 넓게 사용되며 maintenance-free의 영구적인 back-up용 전원으로 넓게 사용되고 있다 EDLC에 사용되는 전해질은 이온 전도도가 높아야 하고 사용되는 온도 범위가 넓어야 한다. 그리고 고전압을 인가했을 때 전해질이 전기화학적으로 안정해야 한다. 본 실험에서는 고전압에서 안정적인 액상 유기계 전해질을 사용하여 전기이중층캐패시터의 전기화학적 특성을 확인하였다. Paste rolling법으로 제조된 탄소전극과 $1M-LiPF_6$ in PC-GBL-DEC (volume ratio 1:1:2)의 유기용매전해질을 사용한 전기이중층캐패시터가 64F/g의 우수한 비축전용량을 발현하였다

A simplified directly determination of natural frequencies of CNT: Via aspect ratio

  • In this paper, a novel model is developed for frequency behavior of single walled carbon nanotubes. The governing equation of motion is constructed method based on the Sander theory using Rayleigh-Ritz's method The frequencies enhances on increasing the power law index using simply supported, clamped and clamped free end conditions. The frequency curve for C-F is less than other conditions. It is due to the physical constraints which are applied on the edge of the CNT. It is observed that the C-F boundary condition have less frequencies from the other two conditions. The frequency phenomena for zigzag are insignificant throughout the aspect ratio. Moreover when index of power law is increased then frequencies increases for all boundary conditions. The natural frequency mechanism for the armchair (10, 10) for various values of power law index with different boundary conditions is investigated. Here frequencies decrease on increases the aspect ratio for all boundary conditions. The frequency curves of SS-SS edge condition is composed between the C-C and C-F conditions. The curves of frequency are less significant from small aspect ratio (L/d = 4.86 ~ 8.47) and decreases fast for greater ratios. It is found that the frequencies via aspect ratios, armchair (10, 10) have higher values from zigzag (10, 0). It is due to the material structure which is made by the carbon nanotubes. The power law index have momentous effect on the vibration of single walled carbon nanotubes. The present frequency result is also compared numerically experimentally with Raman Spectroscopy.

The Scavenger Effects of Various Antioxidants in Cigarette Filters on the Free Radicals in Mainstream Smoke

  • This study was conducted to evaluate the effect of additives (antioxidants for free radicals reduction) in cigarette filter treated with various antioxidants (three types of proanthocyanidins and ascorbic acid) and various concentrations of ascorbic acid and loaded with activated carbon on the delivery of free radicals of mainstream smoke (MS) by ESR. Also, we analyzed Hoffmann's analytes andscavenger activity according to the storage time and in vitro cytotoxicity. The analysis of spin number of vapor and particulate phase free radicals in MS are decreased to $14{\sim}24\;%$ and $16{\sim}40\;%$, respectively. As aresult of antioxidant potential for inactivity of vapor and particulate phase free radicals, natural antioxidants were more effective than ascorbic acid. Based on the result of the analysis of Hoffmann's analytes for various antioxidantstreated cigarette filters during the smoking, cigarette filter treated with ascorbic acid showed the lower amount of the deliveries of hydroquinone, isoprene and quinoline in MS than those treated with the other antioxidants. In the significant t-test on the difference of the cytotoxicity among the various antioxidants treated-cigarette filters, there are no significant differences at the 95 % confidence level. Those results indicated that the antioxidants were useful for reducing free radicals in MS because of the fast reaction between antioxidant and free radicals.

에틸렌글리콜법을 활용한 국내 순환유동층보일러 석탄회의 Free CaO 평가 연구 (Study on the Free CaO Analysis of Coal Ash in the Domestic Circulating Fluidized Bed Combustion using ethylene glycol method)

  • 에틸렌글리콜법을 활용하여 국내 순환유동층보일러형 발전소에서 발생되는 석탄회의 물리화학적 특성 및 Free CaO 평가를 수행하였다. 물리화학적 특성결과, 각 발전사마다 많은 CaO 함량 차이를 나타내었는데, 이는 황산화물 배출농도 규제 차이 및 보일러 제작사가 다른 발전소의 운전특성이 복합적으로 반영된 것으로 판단된다. Free CaO의 함량은, 비산재는 1.96 ~ 10.78 %, 바닥재는 0.07 ~ 4.24%로 비산재가 바닥재보다 높게 나타났으며, 원시료의 CaO 함량 이외에 입도 분포에 따라서도 크게 변화되는 것으로 확인되었다.

  • 일련의 헤테로 고리 치환(X) chalcone 유도체들에 의한 farnesyl protein transferase(FPTase) 저해활성을 측정하여 분자내 styryl group의 치환기(Y) 변화에 따른 정량적인 구조와 FPTase 저해 활성과의 관계(QSARs)를 modified Free-Wilson(F-W)방법 및 Hansch 방법으로 분석 검토하였다. F-W 분석에 따르면 (X)-치환기는 FPTase 저해 활성에 기여하지 않았다 그러나 (Y)-치환기들은 ortho>meta>para 치환체의 순서로 ortho-치환체와 ${\alpha}$탄소의 알짜 전하$(C_{\alpha})$가 활성에 기여하였다. 모든 헤테로 고리 치환체에 대한 Hansch 분석에 의하면 전자 밀게(R<0)의 폭$(B_1)$이 작은 ortho-치환체로서 적정값, $(R)_{opt.}=-0.35$를 갖는 공명상수가 저해활성에 영향을 미친다는 사실을 알 수 있었다. 그리고 헤테로 치환체들 사이의 FPTase 저해활성은 모두 비례관계를 보임으로써 같은 경향으로 저해활성이 발현되었으며 비(H)치환체 45가 제일 높은 FPTase 저해활성$(pI_{50}=4.30)$을 보였다.

MWCNT 표면에 Michael 부가 반응으로 자유 라디칼 중합 가능한 Methacrylate기 도입에 대한 최적 개질 조건 (Optimum Conditions for Introducing Free Radical Polymerizable Methacrylate Groups on the MWCNT Surface by Michael Addition Reaction)

  • 본 연구에서는 multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) 표면에 자유 라디칼 중합 가능한 methacrylate기를 다량으로 도입하기 위한 연구를 수행하였다. 먼저, MWCNT 표면에 카르복실기(-COOH)를 도입하기 위하여 황산과 질산의 혼산으로 초음파로 처리하면서 2시간 산화시켜 MWCNT-COOH를 합성하였다. 합성된 MWCNT-COOH를 염화티오닐(thionyl chloride)와 반응시켜 MWCNT-COCl을 합성하고, triethylenetetramine (TETA)와 반응시켜 MWCNT-$NH_2$를 합성하였다. 합성된 MWCNT-$NH_2$와 3-(acryloyloxy)-2-hydroxypropyl methacrylate (AHM)의 투입 몰 비를 변화시키면서 Michael 부가 반응으로 MWCNT 표면에 methacrylate기가 도입된 MWCNT-AHM을 합성하였다. MWCNT의 표면 개질정도는 fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis (TGA)와 원소분석(elemental analysis, EA) 분석을 통해 개질 반응의 진행 정도와 최적 개질 조건을 확인하였다. 그 결과 MWCNT-$NH_2$에 접목되어 있는 TETA에 대하여 AHM의 반응 몰 비를 1:10로 하고 8시간 반응시켰을 때 methacrylate기가 가장 많이 도입되는 조건임을 확인하였다.

Effect of Residual Stress on Raman Spectra in Tetrahedral Amorphous Carbon(ta-C) Film

  • It is well known that Raman spectroscopy is powerful tool in analysis of sp3/sp3 bonding fraction in diamond-like carbon(DLC) films. Raman spectra of DLC film is composed of D-peak centered at 1350cm-1 and G-peak centered at 1530cm-1. The sp3/sp3 fraction is qualitatively acquired by deconvolution method. However, in case of DLC film, it is generally observed that G-peak position shifts toward low wavenumber as th sp3 fraction increases. However, opposite results were frequently observed in ta-C films. ta-C film has much higher residual compressive stress due to its high sp3 fraction compared to the DLC films deposited by CVD method. Effect of residual stress on G-peak position is most recommendable parameter in Raman analysis of ta-C, due to its smallest fitting error among many parameters acquired by peak deconvolution of symmetric spectra. In current study, the effect of residual stress on Raman spectra was quantitatively evaluated by free-hang method. ta-C films of different residual stress were deposited on Si-wafer by modifying DC-bias voltage during deposition. The variation of the G-peak position along the etching depth were observed in the free-hangs of 20~30${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ etching depth. Mathematical result based on Airy stress function, was compared with experimental results. The more reliable analysis excluding stress-induced shift was possible by elimination of the Raman shift due to residual compressiove stress.
