  • This paper discusses the practical improvements for state government promotion programs to strengthen export competitiveness of small and medium trade business in the province to meet the needs of e-trade. This paper, first of all, describes how the problem on this subject relates to the existing literatures. It provides theoretical background about what programs mainly influence the export competitiveness of the province's small and medium business. Based upon the above results, the questionnaire for the analysis was grounded. The approach methodology is IP(Importance-Performance) analysis of satisfaction. The analysis collected the relations between the implementation and the satisfaction of 159 firms on the export promotion programs provided by its associated organizations. The I-P analysis results also reported that the organizations provided with the programs were listed in highly order of satisfaction as follows; KOTRA, Small and Medium Business Administration, Small Business Corporation, Gyeongbuk Internet Trade Center. Even though limitations of this paper exist, it can find provide the frames of ideal export promotion programs to meet the needs of a new era of trade.

  • To analyze the genomic diversity of transmissible gastroenteritis virus (TGEV), the N-terminal half of the spike (S) glycoprotein gene and nonstructural protein gene (open reading frames 3 and 3-1) were amplified by reverse transcriptase reaction and polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR), and analyzed using restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP) patterns of the amplified DNA. In this study, TGEV Miller (M6) and Purdue (P115) strains were used as reference strains, and two vaccine strains (MSV and STC3) and four Korea isolates (P44, VRI-WP, VRI-41, and VRI-48) were analyzed. All TGEV strains were amplified with three TGEV primer pairs. Although there was some exception in RFLP analysis, this method differentiated TGEV strains into following groups : Miller group (M6 and MSV), Purdue group (PUS, STC3, P44, VRI-WP, VRI-41, and VRI-48). Using Sau3AI and SspI, VRI-48 was differentiated from the Miller and Purdue type viruses. The RT/PCR in conjuction with RFLP analysis was a rapid and valuable tool for differentiating several strains of TGEV. This study revealed the occurences of distinct difference in genome of TGEV strains.

  • In this paper, the authors suggest a new control algorithm for a three-phase four-wire photovoltaic (PV) inverter with imbalance load compensation function using conventional proportional-integral (PI) controllers. The maximum power of PV panel is calculated by the MPPT control loop. The reference varying signals of current controllers are transformed to two different rotating frames where they become constant signals. Then simple PI controllers are applied to achieve zero steady-state error of the controllers. The proposed control algorithm are modeled and simulated with imbalance load configuration to verify its performance. The simulation results show that the maximum PV power is transferred to the grid and the imbalance power is compensated successfully by the proposed control algorithm. The inverter has a fast response (~4 cycles) during the transient period. The proposed control algorithm can be effectively utilized to the three-phase four-wire inverter with imbalance load compensation function.

  • A fast-transient repetitive control strategy for a three-phase shunt active power filter is presented in this study to improve dynamic performance without sacrificing steady-state accuracy. The proposed approach requires one-sixth of the fundamental period required by conventional repetitive control methods as the repetitive control time delay in the synchronous reference frames. Therefore, the proposed method allows the system to achieve a fast dynamic response, and the program occupies minimal storage space. A proportional-integral regulator is also added to the current control loop to eliminate arbitrary-order harmonics and ensure system stability under severe harmonic distortion conditions. The design process of the corrector in the fast-transient repetitive controller is also presented in detail. The LCL filter resonance problem is avoided by the appropriately designed corrector, which increases the margin of system stability and maintains the original compensation current tracking accuracy. Finally, experimental results are presented to verify the feasibility of the proposed strategy.

  • An improved stationary frame-based digital current control technique for a permanent magnet (PM) synchronous motor is presented. Generally, the stationary frame current controller is known to provide the advantage of a simple implementation. However, there are some unavoidable limitations such as a steady-state error and a phase delay in the steady-state. On the other hand, in the synchronous frame current regulator, the regulated currents are dc quantities and a zero steady-state error can be obtained through the integral control. However, the need to transform the signals between the stationary and synchronous frames makes the implementation of a synchronous frame regulator complex. Although the PI controller in the stationary frame gives a steady-state error and a phase delay, the control performance can be greatly improved by employing the exact decoupling control inputs for the back EMF, resulting in an ideal steady-state control characteristics irrespective of an operating condition as in the synchronous PI decoupling controller. However, its steady-state response may be degraded due to the inexact cancellation inputs under the parameter variations. To improve the control performance in the stationary frame, the disturbance is estimated using the time delay control. The proposed scheme is implemented on a PM synchronous motor using DSP TMS320C31 and the effectiveness is verified through the comparative simulations and experiments.

  • We propose an efficient vehicle detection and classification algorithm for an electronic toll collection using the feature which is robust to abrupt intensity change between consecutive frames. The local correlation coefficient between wavelet transformed input and reference images is used as such a feature, which takes advantage of textural similarity. The usefulness of the proposed feature is analyzed qualitatively by comparing the feature with the local variance of a difference image, and is verified by measuring the improvements in the separability of vehicle from shadowy or shadowless road for a real test image. Experimental results from field tests show that the proposed vehicle detection and classification algorithm performs well even under abrupt intensity change due to the characteristics of sensor and occurrence of shadow.

  • An explicit finite element nonlinear formulation for very large deformations of plane frame structures is developed. The formulation is based on an updated material reference frame and hence a true stress-strain relationship can be directly applied to characterize the properties of material which is subjected to very large deformations. In the formulation, a co-rotational approach is applied to deal with the large rotations but small strain problems. Straight beam element is considered when the strain of an element is large. The element formulation is based on the small deflection beam theory but with the inclusion of the effect of axial force. The element equations are constructed in an element local coordinate system which rotates and translates with the element, and then transformed to the global coordinate system. Several numerical examples are analyzed to validate the presented formulation.

  • The turbulent flow in the rotor-stator mixer is based on shear characteristics generated by the interaction of the stator with the rotor rotating at high speed. In this study, the flow characteristics analysis of the unsteady state generated by the interaction of the rotor and the stator in the prototype model of the emulsion-fuel related mixer development was performed with the MRF and SMM by applying the ANSYS FLUENT $k-{\varepsilon}$ (RKE) turbulence model. The behavior and shear characteristics of the flow particles generated at the interface between the designed rotor and stator, and trends such as velocity distribution and turbulence eddy dissipation, were predicted and verified using the CFD analysis.

  • In this paper, a new algorithm by using 3D warping technique to effectively fill holes that are produced when creating a virtual-viewpoint image is proposed. A hole is defined as the region that cannot be seen in the reference view when a virtual view is created. In the proposed algorithm, to reduce the blurring effect that occurs on the hole region filled by conventional algorithms and to enhance the texture quality of the generated virtual view, Exemplar Based In-painting algorithm is used. The boundary noise which occurs in the initial virtual view obtained by 3D warping is also removed. After 3D warping, we estimate the relative location of the background to the holes and then pixels adjacent to the background are filled in priority to get better result by not using only adjacent object's information. Also, the temporal inconsistency between frames can be reduced by expanding the search region up to the previous frame when searching for most similar patch. The superiority of the proposed algorithm compared to the existing algorithms can be shown through the experimental results.
