Development of non-fragile $H_{\infty}$ controller design algorithm for singular systems (특이시스템의 비약성 $H_{\infty}$ 제어기 설계 알고리듬 개발)

  • In this paper, we consider the synthesis of non-fragile $H_{\infty}$ state feedback controllers for singular systems and static state feedback controller with multiplicative uncertainty. The sufficient condition of controller existence, the design method of non-fragile $H_{\infty}$ controller, and the measure of non-fragility in controller are presented via LMI(linear matrix inequality) technique. Also, the sufficient condition can be rewritten as LMI form in terms of transformed variables through singular value decomposition, some changes of variables, and Schur complements. Therefore, the obtained non-fragile $H_{\infty}$ controller guarantees the asymptotic stability and disturbance attenuation of the closed loop singular systems within a prescribed degree. Moreover, the controller design method can be extended to the problem of robust and non-fragile $H_{\infty}$ controller design method for singular systems with parameter uncertainties. Finally, a numerical example is given to illustrate the design method.

Extracellular Vesicles from Korean Codium fragile and Sargassum fusiforme Negatively Regulate Melanin Synthesis

  • Although various marine ingredients have been exploited for the development of cosmetic products, no previous study has examined the potential of seaweed extracellular vesicles (EV) in such applications. Our results revealed that EV from Codium fragile and Sargassum fusiforme effectively decreased α-MSH-mediated melanin synthesis in MNT-1 human melanoma cells, associated with downregulation of MITF (microphthalmia-associated transcription factor), tyrosinase and TRP1 (tyrosinase-related proteins 1). The most effective inhibitory concentrations of EV were 250 ㎍/ml for S. fusiforme and 25 ㎍/ml for C. fragile, without affecting the viability of MNT-1 cells. Both EV reduced melanin synthesis in the epidermal basal layer of a three-dimensional model of human epidermis. Moreover, the application of the prototype cream containing C. fragile EV (final 5 ㎍/ml) yielded 1.31% improvement in skin brightness in a clinical trial. Together, these results suggest that EV from C. fragile and S. fusiforme reduce melanin synthesis and may be potential therapeutic and/or supplementary whitening agents.

  • The construction industry has challenges and opportunities for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The task of the construction industry is to improve the quality of construction, which is particularly necessary for the Fragile State. The construction industry's primary role is to provide jobs and maintain and improve the construction environment that affects the quality of life. Using the Delphi method and EFA in this study, [Pre-Execution] and [Execution] were derived as risk areas that require intensive hedge when penetrating the construction market in fragile states. It was concluded that the risk hedge to the master plan for the business conditions and infrastructure is the most important.

  • In this paper, we propose a non-fragile guaranteed cost controller design method for uncertain linear systems with constant delyas in state. The norm bounded and time-varying uncertainties are subjected to system and controller design matrices. A quadratic cost function is considered as the performance measure for the system. Based on the Lyapunov method, an LMI(Linear Matrix Inequality) optimization problem is established to design the controller which uses information of delayed state and minimizes the upper bound of the quadratic cost function for all admissible system uncertainties and controller gain variations. Numerical examples show the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Effective Fragile Watermarking for Image Authentication with High-quality Recovery Capability

  • In this paper, we propose an effective fragile image watermarking scheme for tampering detection and content recovery. Cover image is divided into a series of non-overlapping blocks and a block mapping relationship is constructed by the secret key. Several DCT coefficients with direct current and lower frequencies of the MSBs for each block are used to generate the reference bits, and different coefficients are assigned with different bit numbers for representation according to their importance. To enhance recovery performance, authentication bits are generated by the MSBs and the reference bits, respectively. After LSB substitution hiding, the embedded watermark bits in each block consist of the information of itself and its mapping blocks. On the receiver side, all blocks with tampered MSBs can be detected and recovered using the valid extracted reference bits. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed scheme.

  • In this paper, the robust non-fragile guaranteed cost control problem is studied for a class of linear large-scale systems with uncertainties and a given quadratic cost functions. The uncertainty in the system is assumed to be norm-bounded and time-varying. Also, the state-feedback gains for subsystems of the large-scale system are assumed to have norm-bounded controller gain variations. The problem is to design a state feedback control laws such that the closed-loop system is asymptotically stable and the closed-loop cost function value is not more than a specified upper bound for all admissible uncertainties and controller gain variations. Sufficient conditions for the existence of such controllers are derived based on the linear matrix inequality (LMI) approach combined with the Lyapunov method. A parameterized characterization of the robust non-fragile guaranteed cost controllers is given in terms of the feasible solutions to a certain LMI. A numerical example is given to illustrate the proposed method.

  • This paper describes the synthesis of robust and non-fragile Η$^{\infty}$ output feedback controller for parameter uncertain systems with time delay. The sufficient condition of controller existence, and the design method of robust and non-fragile Η$^{\infty}$ output feedback controller are presented. The obtained conditions can be represented as parameterized LMIs, and PLMIs feasibility problems involve infinitely many LMIs hence are very hard to solve. Therefore, PLMIs are replaced by a finite set of LMIs using relaxation techniques(separated convexity concepts). This method is potentially conservative but often provide practically exploitable solutions of difficult problems with a reasonable computational effort. The compatibility of resulting controller is illustrated by numerical example.

  • In this paper, we present a non-fragile guaranteed cost control design method for uncertain nonlinear systems with time varying delays in state and control input, even though the controller gain is perturbed. The uncertain nonlinear term in the systems is norm bounded and the linear matrix inequality(LMI) optimization method is employed as a stability analysis of the systems. We design a robust controller and show the asymptotical stability of uncertain time-varying systems based on Lyapunov method. Also, we guarantee a specific level of performance of the systems. The simulations are carried out to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

  • Kinetically constrained models (KCM) have attracted interest as models that assign dynamic origins to the interesting dynamic properties of supercooled liquid. Signs of dynamic heterogeneity in the crossover model that linearly interpolates between the FA-like symmetric constraint and the East model constraint by asymmetric parameter b were investigated using Monte Carlo technique. When the asymmetry parameter was decreased sufficiently, smooth fragile-to-strong dynamic transition was observed in terms of the relaxation time, diffusion constant, Stokes-Einstein violation, and dynamic length scale. Competition between energetically favored symmetric relaxation mechanism and entropically favored asymmetric relaxation mechanism is behind such transition.
