The auxiliary power supply system fur passenger service of railway car has been developed from MA(Motor-Alternator) to CVCF Inverter (Static Inverter). Generally, a customer wants to apply tile new control method and device for auxiliary power supply of railcar However, if the auxiliary power supply is supplied to extended existing line, the maintenance cost of the old system is less expensive than new developed system, so, the customer specifies that the auxiliary power supply has compatibility with existing one completely. At that time, the hardware is nearly same as existing system except small changes of accessories for better performance. This paper describes the flicker control using feed-forward method of auxiliary power supply system for new 50 electric railcars, which are delivered to Korean National Railroad (KNR) Kwa-chon Line. The existing power supply system has damping resistor box to stabilize the DC input (1.5 ㎸). At this time, for better system efficiency the new system has not include resistor box but new control method including feed-forward control is applied. This control algorithm realizes the better stabilization of input power compared to the result of the existing system, which includes resistor box

The single phase induction motor is recently requested to meet a broad speed control and smooth forward and reverse operation due to the multifarious usages. This paper deals with two phase operation of a two winding motor by reference current adaptive inverter which can supply the currents to satisfy the balanced oeration into the main and auxiliary winding through the entire operational region. According to the roposed system, the starting, forward and reverse and variable speed control of a two winding motor eliminated the capacitor from the capacitor-run motor is also possible. The formation and its principle of the reference current adaptive inverter and characteristic analysis of the motor fed by this apparatus are described in this paper. Excellent agreement with the measured results and calculated values by computer simulation is obtained.
This paper presents a new isolated soft-switching bidirectional buck-boost inverter for fuel cell applications. The buck-boost inverter combines an isolated DC-DC converter with a conventional inverter to implement buck-boost DC-DC and DC-AC conversion. The main switches achieve zero voltage switching and zero current switching by using a novel synchronous switching SVPWM and the volume of the transformer in the forward and fly-back mode is also minimized. This inverter is suitable for wide input voltage applications due to its high efficiency under all conditions. An active clamping circuit reduces the switch's spike voltage and regenerates the energy stored in the leakage inductance of the transformer; therefore, the overall efficiency is improved. This paper presents the operating principle, a theoretical analysis and design guidelines. Simulation and experimental results have validated the characteristics of the buck-boost inverter.
The AC drive systems of a voltage source inverter and an induction motor. The inverter non linearity caused by the turn on/off time dependency of the current level in the switching IGBT is described in the first part of this paper. To improve the low-speed drive characteristics, accurate applied voltage calculation is proposed under considerations of the compensations for the quantization error in the digital controller, the forward voltage drop of switching drives and the dead time of the inverter. The experimental studies show the improved drive characteristics.

In this paper, a voltage controller for the seamless transition of a grid-connected inverter for ESS is proposed. The single-phase inverter is operated as a current controller when the grid is connected and as a voltage controller in the stand-alone mode when the grid is disconnected. Generally, in the case of grid recovery, the overcurrent may flow into the system because of the mismatch phase between the inverter output and grid voltages. The proposed controller resolves the overcurrent problem through phase delay problems with initial value feed-forward control of the integrator when the grid voltage is restored. The effects of the control method are simulated through PSIM, and the usefulness of the control method is verified through experiments.

A multi-channel CMOS transimpedance amplifier(TIA) array is realized in a $0.18-{\mu}m$ CMOS technology for the applications of panoramic scan LADAR systems. Each channel consists of a PIN photodiode and a feed-forward TIA that exploits an inverter input stage followed by a feed-forward common-source amplifier so as to achieve lower noise and higher gain than a conventional voltage-mode inverter TIA. Measured results demonstrate that each channel achieves $76-dB{\Omega}$ transimpedance gain, 720-MHz bandwidth, and -20.5-dBm sensitivity for $10^{-9}$ BER. Also, a single channel dissipates the power dissipation of 30 mW from a single 1.8-V supply, and shows less than -33-dB crosstalk between adjacent channels.

Since the average speed calculated with encoder pulses inevitably has time delay, the control performance as well as the system stability is deteriorated. especially at the low speed region. Additionally, the distorted inverter output voltage due to the dead time effects and the forward voltage drops of the VSI (Voltage Source Inverter) causes torque ripples and their effects are more severe at the low speed operation of an induction motor. In this paper, an accurate speed estimation method using Kalman Filter Algorithm is presented to improve the performance of an induction motor speed control with a low precision encoder at low speed legion. The dead time effects and the forward voltage drops of the VSI are feedforwardly compensated to produce an exact inverter output voltage.
A circuit-domain model of PWM inverter provides accurate simulation results in consideration of detail switching characteristics. Although, a huge amount of computation time is demanded for the simulation results of several ten seconds, which is the required time to analyze system behaviors or control performances of Electric Power Steering(EPS) on real drive condition. This paper describes the nonlinear inverter model for fast dynamic simulation of EPS without the PWM concept through analyzing the effect of nonlinear switching characteristics like dead time, forward voltage drop and conduction resistance. Some inverter models including proposed model are compared from two standpoints which are computation time and accuracy. The comparison results show the usefulness of the developed model in order to develop the control algorithm through the fast prediction of system behaviors.
Until now, environmental problem has become more and more serious, and acoustic noise is one of environmental pollutions. For many years, ANC(Active Noise Control) has been made to reduce this noise. In this paper, active silencer using switching method is studied. This silencer is composed of single-phase full bridge inverter to drive cancelling loudspeaker. The inverter is controlled to reduce noise by ramp comparison control method. At the vacuum cleaner, noise control with FFCS(Feed-Forward Control Structure) is applied and geometric arrangement is replaced to avoid unstability of FFCS.
