리처드 마이어 건축에 표현된 바로크적 특성 연구 (A Study on the Baroque Characteristics Expressed in Architecture by Richard Meier)

  • Baroque is fundamentally in contrast with renaissance style classicism, which attempted to fix a world view itself as the value of perpetuity. Furthermore, it is interpreted as a topic of incompletion or transformation that is not defined or is not exemplary and which may be enjoyed by people in the classical life, which requires a microscopic concept in contrast with dualism, the central axis of western civilization, namely, rational lucidity. Also, such characteristics are estimated to serve as a lubricant in life while going beyond the formal aesthetic level of art even from a contemporary perspective, and to play a productive role and to have potential. Consequently, this paper assumed that the concepts expressed by the 20th century US contemporary architect Richard Meier of a complex space, namely architectural formative vocabularies such as overlapping, interpenetration, collision, and collage style mixture created by a layered structure, in his architecture are in common with the double surface technique and juxtaposition of a flat structure of Baroque architecture. Then, the paper analyzed and considered the characteristics. The paper considered the following two issues: Such Baroque style formal principle is reinterpreted against a backdrop in which his architectural flow based on the domino theory of Le Corbusier became established as his own unique architectural feature, and it may be proposed as one big flow that enables us to seek again modernistic architecture that attempts to make an architectural space absolute as an atypical formal contour.

현대패션에 나타난 픽셀의 표현 경향과 특성 (Expression Trend and Characteristics of Pixel in Contemporary Fashion)

  • This study examined the pixel's expression trend and nature featured in contemporary fashion, which works as a basic unit symbolizing the digital image, paying attention to its formativeness. The work through this process aimed at suggesting an opportunity for recognition about pixel image utilized as a formative component beyond its simple meaning of unit and providing the fundamental materials for usage in creative fashion design reflecting the digital emotion in the future, In research method, literature review was followed on pixel and the empirical study about its image was also performed that was found in the modern fashion. As a result, the trend in pixel has these characteristics. Its first nature lies in its plane expression. It was printed as mosaic or graphic grid image or expressed through patchwork technique. Also, rather than a certain form or figure, its unique image was emphasized according to the applied color, size, and position. Second, a stepwise pattern in pixel was applied to external format for part of clothing, eye glass and necktie, indicating some interest and wit. Third, in application to plane and external shape, the graphically modernized effect was realized, not to mention the illusive image with cubic expression. As shown, the characteristics in contemporary fashion via pixel expression were given in fantastic image, optical humor, and reflection of digital value.

니트 패션의 미적 특성에 관한 연구 - 패션 잡지에 나타난 국내 니트 디자인을 중심으로 - (A Study on the Aesthetic Characteristics of Korean Knit Fashion)

  • Knit wear with comfortable feeling of wearing and various coordinations gives new values to the modern people, who seek activities and individualities, and the demand for knit wear is on the rise. This article aims to analyze the aesthetic characteristics of Korean knit fashion. Fashion photographs from leading monthly fashion magazines in Korea from 2005 to 2007 had been analyzed. The knitting techniques, and designing characteristics and aesthetic values of Korean knit fashion had been studied. The major conclusions of the study are the following: 1. Korean knit fashion applies various knitting techniques. The knitting techniques used in Korean knit fashion are hand-knitting technique, crochet techniques, lace techniques, plain stitch, rib stitch, and purl stitch technique. 2. Decorations by trimming and matching with different textile materials are used more frequently than decorations by knit material itself. Decorating methods include fringes, spangle, beads, Rhine stone, motif and embroidery decorating. Matching with different textile materials made contrasting decoration effect. 3. Patterms by knitting structure and by arranging colors are applied. Cubic effect by knitting structure patterns, and geometric patterns by arranging colors are emphasized. 4. The formative feature beauties are natural beauty, feminine beauty, and decorative beauty. Korean knit fashion has developed creative and decorative designs through various knitting techniques and decorating techniques. As individual activities may be increased in the future, the designs and applications of knit fashion may be diversified.

꽃문양이 표현된 패션스타일에 대한 한국 여성의 선호도와 감성이미지 (Korean Women's Preferences and Emotional Images Associated Fashion Design with Flower Printings)

  • Flower images are used as a design motif in various fields. Flower printings in clothes, in particular, usually represent nature. This study sets out to identify the characteristics of different fashion styles with flower printings, as well as the preferences and emotional images of Korean women in their 20s. The flower printings used in fashion design were classified into 5 types of styles: Modern, Natural Romantic, Maximalism, Neo-Hippie, and Ethnic style. Literature review and survey were conducted to identify the emotional images associated with the flower printings, as well as women's preferences. Through literature review, this study noted the formative elements of flower printings and their characteristics, as expressed in fashion designs. Then, the different styles were classified in order to provide theoretical foundation for the survey. The results of the study were significant in that they contributed to the definition and academic systemization of the characteristics of fashion styles with flower printings. Moreover, the study opened up possibilities for utilizing flowers to express a greater variety of meanings and influences in fashion. The findings can be used to enable fashion styles and emotional influences to be expressed through designs using natural motifs besides flowers.

현대패션에 나타난 홀치기 염에 관한 연구 (A Study of Tie-Dye in the Contemporary Fashion)

  • This study is an attempt to explore the expressive techniques and characteristics of tie-dye shown in the contemporary fashion. In doing so, the study conducted a literature review and analyzed the works show cased for 2001S/S through 2010F/W, especially from the "big four" collections in Paris, Milan, New York and London. In the contemporary fashion, tie-dye techniques such as tying, folding and sewing are used in an independent or combined manner to express unique images. They also highlight decorative images in combination with a variety of decorative techniques including draping, pleating, beading. In light of its characteristics, tie dye expresses unique formative aesthetics with diverse patterns and creates more gorgeous images than when many different colors are used for dyeing. The dyeing process works as a critical factor influencing the overall image of design, as it is expressed as a pattern by being applied on the whole of an item rather than in part of clothes. The characteristics of tie-dye techniques used in the contemporary fashion are associated with the expressions of natural beauty, abstract decorative beauty, and dynamic rhythmical beauty.

패치워크 기법과 몬드리안의 작품 특성을 응용한 패션 디자인 연구 (A Study on Fashion Designs Applying Patchwork Technique and the Characteristics of Mondrian's Works)

  • Such trend offers new fashion designs as a formative art with creative spontaneity. The purpose of this study is to seek to work out fashion design methods whereby fashions can be developed into an art form embracing handicraft premium textures, geometric formativeness and traditional beauty so as to satisfy the individualist expression desires of modern people who pursue practicality, originality, and beauty of simplicity. This art form also allows new images to be expressed. The corresponding methods studied include the space and technique of patchwork that can create artistry and aesthetic functionality into differentiated levels of images, and geometric ion from Mondrian' works. Fashion designs based on patchwork technique and the characteristics of Mondrian's works reveal that the patchwork technique using diverse materials is an artistic technique with high handicraft value. This technique provides new value to traditional aesthetic materials of clothing, and that Mondrian's unique designs are very effective in developing new fashion designs because they provide artistry and unique effects to modern fashion expression.

  • The objective of this study is to contemplate both the formation and the aesthetic characteristics of the ballerina look represented in modern fashion by analyzing a ballet costume. The results of this study could be summarized as the following: the ballerina look is formed by ballet costume itself with being stick to or exposing human body line, or by casual dress mixed with a ballet costume; the materials consist of both the major materials for a ballet costume such as silk, chiffon, tulle, lace, or organza, and the usual materials for casual dress: a variety of color such as transparent, pastel etc. is also used with typically used colors like white and black: decoration is basically composed of ruffle, drape, gather and the distinctive accessory like toe shoes, ribbon tape, ankle warmer is used to show a feature of a ballet costume These formative characteristics of the ballerina look presented in modern fashion implies illusory, pure, and hybridity. traits. First, illusion of the ballerina look not only implicitly expresses a womans wish to experience a ballerina's fantastic world, but also recreates woman herself into a ballerina on a stage. Second, purity of the ballerina look makes design look feminine and smooth, which is expressed with girlish taste through materials and colors. Third, hybridity of the ballerina look suggests a standard of a new trend, which is active style, by adding comfortableness and flexibleness to romantic femininity.

탱고 의상의 디자인 특성과 현대 패션에 적용된 사례 (Design Characteristic of Tango Dance Costume and its Application in Modern Fashion)

  • The purpose of this study is to consider the origin and kinds of tango and to analyze formative characteristics of tango dance costume. On the basis of the review of literature about tango, photos of tango dance and modern fashion collections designed by tango themes are analysed to examine design elements which are essentially considered in dance costume design. The result of this study are as follows: This study shows the different characteristics of tango dance costume depend on the kind of tango. In case of Argentina tango, sheath silhouette dress and black color are preferred, for Continental tango, fit and flare silhouette which gives convenient movement in dress and white color emphasize the elegant movement are preferred. America tango accentuates the body movement by fitted silhouette, metallic materials, and bead trimmings in dress. The result of the analysis of recent fashion collection shows that characteristics especially strong and sensual tango are mainly an inspiring motive and reinterpreted by designers in modern fashion.

  • We are in the process of the deepening of the informationalized society. Such a phenomenon(of deepening of the informationalized society) means that human being is surrounded by a linguistic or semiological environment instead of realistic experience. And it is concerned with the visual design composed by the visual languages and semiotics of Arts. Because the visual design is a kind of the linguisticsmion using the visual formation. This penomena necessarily brings the expansion of the quatity of information and accompanies the simplification of messages. Therefore when we apply the simplicity resulting from the ideality of KYEORE painting(the folk Art of Korea), it can be cotribute to those who should be in the center of semiological environment more deeply as a source to maximize the effect of communication, which is the conclusion of this study. In sort, the characteristics of our KYEORE painting is the ideal expression. There are found not a few problems such as the depiction of forms, the perspective representation, the chiaroscuro, the expression of material if we evaluate them from the western formative viewpoint. But the depiction of the fact is less direct than the ideal expression itself, is likely to be much complicated, and can be far away from the world of reality. Because it is just the first step for satisfying the ideal images in man. In the composition of KYEORE painting is dominated by the rules nonprescription of time amd place, colloquialism of the meaning, distinction maximization. They are all the compositive characteristics resulting from the ideality. If these characteristics are modulated intelligently to the current thoughts, they will help to build the new visual communication system of Korea which has more direct and fast absorption force.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the trends and characteristics of the anti-aesthetic shapes have been expressed in Fashion Show Make-up from 1995 to 2003 and to enlarge the possibility of expressions through various formative elements and to anticipate the prospect of the Make-up in the future. Anti-aesthetics means the beginning of criticism that destroy the system of modernism and the anti-aesthetic shapes in Fashion Show Make-up have been distorted, deformed, destroyed through asymmetrical arrangement or abnormal transformation or extreme reduction or omission and so on. It means that is to enlarge the range of expressions through a new interpretation. The anti-aesthetic characteristics in Fashion Show Make-up can be summarized as Avant-garde, Satire, De-construction, Poverty, inhumanity and most of shapes show experimental techniques in unlimited method. The differences at the turning point in 21C is to increase the experimental attempts such as informal and collage and graphic Make-up and so forth.
