In highway cut-slope area, sample plots of 106 were selected, and their vegetations and environmental factors were investigated. 1. We found total 172 species in the 106 cutting area of highway. The species of high frequency of highway cut-slope were found in the order of Lespedeza bicolor, Artemisia princeps var. orientalis, Festuca arundinacea, Erigeron annuus, Lespedeza cuneata, Lactuca indica var. laciniata, Eragrostis curvula, Dactylis glomerata, Oenothera lamarckiana, Wistaria floribunda, Humulus japonica, Commelina communis, Miscanthus sinensis, Pueraria thunbergiana, Pinus densiflora, etc. 2. The average vegetation coverage was over 90% in the study sites and the average coverage was 91.4% in the total cut-slope area. The species of high coverage of highway cut-slope area were found in the order of Festuca arundinacea, Eragrostis curvula, Lespedeza bicolor, Wistaria floribunda, Lespedeza cuneata, Dactylis glomerata, Artemisia princeps var. orientalis, Humulus japonica, Pueraria thunbergiana, Robinia pseudoacacia, Poa pratensis, Medicago sativa, Festuca ovina, Pinus densiflora, Parthenocissua tricuspidata, etc. 3. The total coverage in the foreign plants of Festuca arundinacea, Eragrostis curvula, Dactylis glomerata, Poa pratensis, Medicago sativa, Coreopsis drummondii and native plants of Lespedeza bicolor, Wistaria floribunda, Lespedeza cuneata, Amorpha fruticosa, Indigofera pseudotinctoria, Lespedeza cyrtobotrya were 57.52%. That is, the ecological succession of native herbs and parachute shrubs have delayed because the afforested plants occupy 57.52%. In future, the coverage of foreign herbs have to reduce, and the coverage of the native herbs and parachute shrubs must be increased. 4. The native seed of Artemisia sp., Miscanthus sinensis, Smilax china, Pueraria thunbergiana, Rubus crataegifolius, Rubus parvifolius, Pinus densiflora, Rhus chinensis, Albizzia julibrissin, Rhododendron mucronulatum, Clematis apiifolia, Zanthoxylum schinifolium, Prunus sargentii could be added in the seedling of the temperate south zone highway with the used seeds. The native seed of Artemisia sp., Miscanthus sinensis, Rubus crataegifolius, Rhododendron mucronulatum, Weigela subsessilis, Stephanandra incisa, Rhus chinensis, Pinus densiflora, Salix koreensis, Cocculus trilobus, Populus alba, Spiraea prunifolia for. simpliciflora, Clematis apiifolia, Lindera obtusiloba, Quercus serrata, etc., could be added in the seedling of the temperate middle zone highway with the used seeds. 5. We have some recommendation. The native plants have to growth in the highway cut-slope area instead of foreign plants to have good environmental ecology. The role of the foreign plants should be the plant for the initial several years in the highway cut-slope area. And, the native plants should growth in the next season. 6. We should protect shrubs and trees in the highway slope area because shrubs and trees can be more helpful in stabilizing of the slope area than herbs.

  • This study aims to investigate the effects of foreign students' entrepreneurship on start-up recognition and intention. Due to the expanded policy of attracting foreign students with current Korean wave, it has rapidly increased the number of foreign students in Korea. The number of foreign students in Korea has increased from 50,000 up to 100,000 in 2012. Approximately half of number was resided in Seoul capital, surrounding satellite cities and followed by Kyeongsang, Chungcheong and Jeolla province regions. In this study, we examined the correlation of entrepreneurship with start-up recognition and intention of foreign students living in Daejeon city. The research model was constructed with entrepreneurship and start-up intention as independent and dependent variable, respectively, and start-up recognition as a moderating variable. Furthermore, the entrepreneurship of foreign students as independent variable contains innovativeness, pro-activeness, risk-taking and social responsibility. In the survey, we collected 119 responding foreign students belonging to KAIST, Chungnam National University and Hanbat National University and analyzed the correlations of these variables with 116 significant answers. To validate the hypotheses, linear regression analysis tool in SPSS program was used. As a result of the survey, entrepreneurship components such as innovativeness, pro-activeness, risk-taking and social responsibility affected start-up intention positively. In addition, start-up recognition as a moderating variable affected positively between entrepreneurship and start-up intention. However, it has the limitation to generalize the overall correlation of entrepreneurship with start-up recognition and intention for foreign students living in Korea because the survey was only performed in restricted Daejeon city area. Nonetheless, this study can be useful for understanding the foreign students's trait for entrepreneurship and planning the adequate entrepreneurship education.

  • Foreign subsidiary operation modes can be broadly divided into horizontal subsidiaries and vertical subsidiaries. According to institutional theory, foreign subsidiary operation mode differs depending on the host country institution. This study examines the effects of formal and informal institution on the foreign subsidiary operational mode of Korean firms. As a result of the empirical analysis, the higher the cultural distance and the lower political risks, the more favored the vertical foreign operation mode than the horizontal foreign operation mode. On the other hand, the higher the economic freedom and the lower corruption, the more favored the horizontal foreign operation mode than the vertical foreign operation mode.

  • As the supply of electric vehicles increases, research on wireless charging methods for convenience has been increasing. Because the electric vehicle wireless transmission device is installed on the ground and the electric vehicle battery is installed on the floor of the vehicle, the transmission and reception antennas are approximately 15-30 cm away, and thus strong magnetic fields are exposed during wireless charging. When a metallic foreign object is placed in the magnetic field area, an eddy current is induced to the metallic foreign object, and heat is generated, creating danger of fire and burns. Therefore, this study proposes a method to detect metallic foreign objects in the magnetic field area of a wireless electric vehicle charging system. An active detection-only coil array was used, and an LC resonance circuit was constructed for the frequency of the supply power signal. When a metallic foreign object is inserted into the charging zone, the characteristics of the resonance circuit are broken, and the magnitude and phase of the voltage signal at both ends of the capacitor are changed. It was confirmed that the proposed method has about 1.5 times more change than the method of comparing the voltage magnitude at one node.

  • This paper is a study on the perception of current competency and expected competency of engineering freshmen by extracting core competencies acquired from university education. It also aims to suggest proper way for engineering university education. This study extracts competencies in the following five areas as core competencies: 'knowledge on major area', 'cultural ability', 'foreign language ability', 'basic learning ability', 'intercommunication ability'. To achieve this purpose, this study surveyed 'C' university engineering department freshmen (584 students) with questionnaires about their perception of core competencies. The results are as follows. First, engineering freshmen perceived current competencies were weak in every area, especially their capacities in 'foreign language ability' area were perceived to be weakest. Their demand for education is the highest in 'foreign language ability' area, and the second higher in 'knowledge on major area'. Secondly, there exists meaningful difference between perception of current competency and expected competency depending on the gender, high school department (science/liberal arts), high school location, types of college admissions, and types of mathematics in NAST. According to these results, this study suggests enhancement of foreign language (English) education in engineering department, design and implementation of various educational program to overcome individual difference, promoting importance of competencies in the 'cultural abilty' and 'intercommunication abilty', necessity of continuous adjustment and complementation for engineering educational program through accumulation of feedback processes, activation of career education through engineering education and special programs.
