Investigation of surface texturing to reduce optical losses for multicrystalline silicon solar cells (다결정 실리콘 태양전지의 광학적 손실 감소를 위한 표면 텍스쳐링에 관한 연구)

  • It is important to reduce optical losses from front surface reflection to improve the efficiency of crystalline silicon solar cells. Surface texturing by isotropic etching with acid solution based on HF and $HNO_3$ is one of the promising methods that can reduce surface reflectance. Anisotropic texturing with alkali solution is not suitable for multicrystalline silicon wafers because of its various grain orientations. In this paper, we textured multicrystalline silicon wafers by simple wet chemical etching using acid solution to reduce front surface reflectance. After that, surface morphology of textured wafer was observed by Scanning Electron Microscope(SEM) and Atomic Force Microscope(AFM), surface reflectance was measured in wavelength from 400nm to 1000nm. We obtained 29.29% surface reflectance by isotropic texturing with acid solution in wavelength from 400nm to 1000nm for fabrication of multicrystalline silicon solar cells.

Wave Transmission Analysis of Beam/Plate Point-Coupled Structures (보/평판 점연성구조의 파동전달해석)

  • Wave Transmission analysis is one of methods for power transmission and reflection coefficients in coupled infinite structures. This paper focuses the wave transmission analysis of point coupled structures among semi-infinite beams and infinite thin plates considering all kinds of waves. It is supposed that the junction through the beams and plates is an identical spot and no point of contact exist except the spot. The boundary conditions are applied at the spot for continuities of 6 DOF displacements and 6 DOF force equilibriums, and then wave fields are obtained in the coupled structures. Since wave components in plate field are simplified using asymptotic expressions of Henkel functions, the displacements and forces at the plate junction can be simply expressed with magnitudes of the wave components. The wave fields according to incident waves gives the power transmission coefficients in beam/plate point coupled structures. For both coupled structures with a beam vertically and obliquely joined to a plate, power transmission analysis is performed and the analysis results are compared and examined.

  • To predict vibrational energy density and intensity of partitioned complex system structures in medium-to-high frequency ranges, Power Flow Finite Element Method(PFFEM) programs for the plate elements are developed. The flexural, longitudinal and shear waves in plates are formulated and the joint element equations for multi-couped plates are fully developed. Also the wave transmission approach has been introduced to cover the energy transmission and reflection at the joint plate elements. Using the developed PFFEM program the energy density and intensity of the submarine and automobile shape structures are predicted with a harmonic point force at a single frequency.

Hydrodynamic performance of a composite breakwater with an upper horizontal porous plate and a lower rubble mound

  • A composite breakwater with an upper horizontal porous plate and a lower rubble mound is proposed and studied in this work. By means of matched eigenfunction expansions, a semi-analytical solution is developed for analyzing the hydrodynamic performance of the breakwater. The semi-analytical solution is verified by known solutions for special cases and an independently developed multi-domain boundary element method solution. Numerical examples are given to examine the reflection, transmission and energy loss coefficients of the breakwater and the wave force acting on the horizontal porous plate. Some useful results are presented for engineering applications.

Human and Society-Centered Learning Outcomes in Basic Medical Education (사람과 사회 중심의 기본의학 학습성과)

  • Learning objectives for human and society-centered basic medical education to improve physicians' ability to practice in a Korean context were developed by the Korean Association of Medical Colleges in 2015-2016. The task-force committee identified eight domains for medical practitioners: human illness, reflection and self-improvement, patient safety, communication and collaboration, medical ethics, legal issues, social accountability, and professionalism. A total of 172 enabling learning outcomes and 42 terminal learning outcomes were identified by the workshop. The workshop members were representatives from 41 medical schools, the Korean Medical Association, and a scientific group (medical ethics, legal issues, and medical communication). The curriculum for "medical humanity and social medicine" was first published in 2007. The human and society-centered learning objectives that were developed will be revised annually.

  • Characteristics of holographic polymer dispersed liquid crystal(HPDLC) were studied according to various matrix materials to improve the electro-optic properties. Various types of polyurethane acrylates (PUAs) have been designed and synthesized. The morphologies of these gratings were measured by atomic force microscopy(AFM) and electro-optic properties were obtained with UV-visible spectroscopy. Real time measurements of grating fabrication have been obtained according to PUA structures. High reflection efficiency was obtained by modifying the molecular structure.

  • In this paper, a masterarm for teleoperation of humanoid robot is presented. This masterarm is based human kinematics, which not only mimics human posture/motion completely, but also has wider work range. In addition, by using the distributed controller architecture and electric brake for force reflection, small size and lightweight of the device can be achieved. Some size and lightweight of the device can be achieved. Some important experiments integrated with the humanoid robot, CENTAUR developed by KIST(Korea Institute of Science and Technology), are conducted to evaluate the performance of the proposed masterarm.

  • 일반적으로 컴퓨터를 이용한 수치 해석에는 격자 수치 해석 방법인 유한요소법 또는 유한차분법이 주로 사용되어 왔다. 그러나 이러한 방법들은 해석하고자 하는 영역을 요소나 격자 등으로 분할해야 하기 때문에 복잡한 현상들을 다루는 데 어려움을 갖게 된다. 이를 극복하기 위해 개발된 방법이 무요소법(Meshfree Method)이며 본 논문에서는 다양한 무요소법들 중 SPH(Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics)가 고려되어진다. SPH는 라그랑지안 수치 근사 기법을 사용하는 입자법(Particle Method)으로 SPH를 정확하게 실행하기 위해서는 적절한 경계 처리법이 요구된다. 그러나 기존의 경계 처리법은 유체 입자의 침투현상 및 커널(Kernel) 끊김 현상이 발생하기 때문에 적합하지 않다. 따라서 지금까지 SPH의 경계 처리법을 향상시키기 위해 다양한 접근법들이 제안되었으며 본 논문에서는 이러한 접근법들 중 정반사(Specular Reflection), 재회복(Bounce-back), 재도입(Reintroduce) 방법 및 경계 반발력(Repulsive Force)과 가상 입자(Ghost Particle)의 적용이 분석되고 현상 접목을 통해 적절한 경계 처리법이 제안되어진다.

Energy flow analysis of out-of-plane vibration in coplanar coupled finite Mindlin plates

  • In this paper, an Energy Flow Analysis (EFA) for coplanar coupled Mindlin plates was performed to estimate their dynamic responses at high frequencies. Mindlin plate theory can consider the effects of shear distortion and rotatory inertia, which are very important at high frequencies. For EFA for coplanar coupled Mindlin plates, the wave transmission and reflection relationship for progressing out-of-plane waves (out-of-plane shear wave, bending dominant flexural wave, and shear dominant flexural wave) in coplanar coupled Mindlin plates was newly derived. To verify the validity of the EFA results, numerical analyses were performed for various cases where coplanar coupled Mindlin plates are excited by a harmonic point force, and the energy flow solutions for coplanar coupled Mindlin plates were compared with the classical solutions in the various conditions.

InN 박막을 이용한 저결함 GaN 박막 성장연구

  • Plasma-assisted molecular beam epitaxy법으로 자가 형성되는 InN 박막을 활용하여 GaN 박막의 결함밀도를 감소시키는 성장 구조 조건에 대하여 연구하였다. Sapphire 기판 위에 저온에서 GaN 핵층을 3 nm 두께로 성장하고, 그 위에 InN 박막을 성장 한 후, 고온에서 GaN을 성장하였다. InN박막의 성장 온도는 $450^{\circ}C$이고, 성장 시간을 30초에서 1분 30초까지 각각 달리 하였다. 실험결과 InN 층이 삽입된 GaN 박막이 상대적으로 고른 표면이 형성되는 과정을 reflection high energy electron diffraction로 관측하였고, atomic force microscope를 측정하여 표면 거칠기의 개선을 확인하였다. InN 성장시간 변화에 따른 결정학적, 광학적 특성 변화를 x-ray diffraction, photoluminescence 이용하여 조사하였고, 본 연구를 통해 InN박막을 활용한 양질의 GaN 박막 성장 가능성을 확인하였다.
