Bacillus subtilis SRCM 101269 having safety and amo gene isolated from Korean traditional fermented food and their investigated characterization to apply the cow manure such as cellulase and xylanase activities, 16S rRNA sequencing, and ability of removal of livestock manure odor. Cow manure application results for the removal of livestock manure odor, the ammonia gas was reduced more than two-folder compared to the control group after 6 days, and reduced to less than 10 ppm after 9 days. In the case of cow manure added fowl droppings and other wood-based mixture components, ammonia gas maintained constant after 3 days of fermentation. However, in the case of sample inoculated B. subtilis SRCM 101269, ammonia gas reduced in course of fermentation time, and concentration of hydrogen sulfide also reduced for 65 ppm. Changes of nitrite concentration according to fermentation time no showed different for cow manure, however nitrite concentration in mixed livestock manure increased when compared to control. And then sulfate concentration in cow manure decreased, and no showed different when compared to the initial fermentation. No apparent change of sulfate concentration in mixed livestock manure detected. Through the previously studies, B. subtilis SRCM 101269 has high potential in industrial application manufacturing the cow manure as removal of livestock manure odor.
This study was carried out to investigate the optimum conditions for the preparation of natto(unripe Chungkukjang) using Sowonkong(small soybeans) and Bacillus subtilis KCCM 11315. The changes in the contents of amino-type nitrogen, ammonia-type nitrogen, total acidity and total sugar, and those in the pH, browning materials and microbial growth were determined during fermentation and aging of natto(unripe Chungkukjang). The amounts of amino-type nitrogen and ammonia-type nitrogen were increased gradually during the fermentation at $40^{\circ}C$ for 72 hours, but those of total acidity and total sugar were decreased. The pH was gradually alkalized, and more water soluble browning materials were produced during fermentation. The number of viable cells was the highest at the 36 hours of fermentation. The content of ammonia-type nitrogen was significantly decreased during aging at $4^{\circ}C$ for 48 hours. In view of the results as above, it seems possible to conclude that the natto(unripe Chungkukjang) fermented by Bacillus subtilis KCCM 11315 at $40^{\circ}C$ for 36 hours and then aged at $4^{\circ}C$ for 48 hours was suitable for manufacturing natto(unripe Chungkukjang).
The purpose of this study is to verify the antimicrobial effect of garlic and black garlic against pathogenic bacteria. For the comparative analysis of antibacterial effects of garlic, Ampicillin $10{\mu}g$ (BBL) was used as control antibiotics. Research experiments were conducted on each of November 2013 and January 2014. Susceptibility to the antimicrobial effect was measured through Kirby-Bauer disc diffusion method and verified according to the standard proposed by the CLSI. Antimicrobial effect of fresh garlic was higher regardless of the method to extract than Ampicillin $10{\mu}g$. In contrast, the manufacturing methods of the black garlic had no effective differentiations. In antimicrobial susceptibility test, black garlic showed resistance to all of 4 strains. However, in the ethanol-extract of fermented black garlic(natural aging of 15 days.) was found the small changes of the growth-inhibition-zone against S. aureus (8 mm)and E. coli(7 mm). This study proposes a variety attempts about the extraction methods of black garlic for the possibility of food preservation.

Terbinafine is an orally active antifungal agent as it inhibits the fungal enzyme squalene epoxidase, which is important in the early biosynthetic pathway of ergosterol. This leads to abnormal development of the fungal cell membrane. Bioequivalence of two terbinafine tablets, $Lamisil^{TM}$ (Novartis Korea Ltd.) and $Terbina^{TM}$ (Korean Drug Co., Ltd.), was evaluated according to the guidelines of Korea Food and Drug Administration (KFDA). Sixteen normal male volunteers, $23.56{\pm}1.75$ years old and $65.60{\pm}8.54\;kg$ of body weight, were divided into two groups and a randomized $2{\times}2$ cross-over study was employed. After one tablet containing 125 mg of terbinafine was orally administered, blood was taken at predetermined time intervals and the serum concentrations of terbinafine were determined using an HPLC method with UV detector. The pharmacokinetic parameters $(AUC_t,\;C_{max}\;and\;T_{max})$ were calculated and ANOVA test was utilized for the statistical analysis of parameters. The results showed that the differences in $AUC_t,\;C_{max}\;and\;T_{max}$ between two tablets based on $Lamisil^{TM}$, tablet were -2.53%, -2.98% and 8.13%, respectively. The powers $(1-{\beta})$ for $AUC_t,\;C_{max}\;and\;T_{max}$ were 85.21%, 98.21% and 93.11%, respectively. Minimum detectable differences $({\Delta})$ at ${\alpha}=0.1\;and\;1-{\beta}=0.8$ were all less than 20%. The 90% confidence intervals were all within ${\pm}20%$. All the parameters above met the criteria of KFDA for bioequivalence, indicating that $Terbina^{TM}$ tablet is bioequivalent to $Lamisil^{TM}$ tablet.

This paper presents a fast back-type transfer device for snack food processing that uses the inertia of transferred material. A conventional conveying system is a drive system that uses a belt conveyor and mechanical crank, which generate noise and vibration and cause environmental pollution. Vibration and noise are reduced in the proposed fast back feeding device by using a counterweight. The crank drive unit was replaced with a linear servomotor, and an equilibrium device was designed to balance the force due to acceleration. This makes it is possible to adjust the forward and backward speed and acceleration through PLC control. A vibration damper device offsets the vibration force of the periodic shock form. The main cause of the vibration was identified through vibration analysis, and reduction measures were established. We verified the effectiveness of the vibration by making a prototype and performing about 10 vibration tests. Because no mechanical transducer is needed, energy loss, noise, and vibration do not occur, and the operating speed is not limited.

According to the COVID-19, development of various medical software based on IoT(Internet of Things) was accelerated. Especially, interest in a central software system that can remotely monitor and control ventilators is increasing to solve problems related to the continuous increase in severe COVID-19 patients. Since medical device software is closely related to human life, this study aims to develop central monitoring system that can remotely monitor and control multiple ventilators in compliance with medical device software development standards and to verify performance of system. In addition, to ensure the safety and reliability of this central monitoring system, this study also specifies risk management requirements that can identify hazardous situations and evaluate potential hazards and confirms the implementation of cybersecurity to protect against potential cyber threats, which can have serious consequences for patient safety. As a result, we obtained medical device software manufacturing certificates from MFDS(Ministry of Food and Drug Safety) through technical documents about performance verification, risk management and cybersecurity application. The purpose of this study is to conduct a usability assessment to ensure that ergonomic design has been applied so that the ventilator central monitoring system can improve user satisfaction, efficiency, and safety. The rapid spread of COVID-19, which began in 2019, caused significant damage global medical system. In this situation, the need for a system to monitor multiple patients with ventilators was highlighted as a solution for various problems. Since medical device software is closely related to human life, ensuring their safety and satisfaction is important before their actual deployment in the field. In this study, a total of 21 participants consisting of respiratory staffs conducted usability test according to the use scenarios in the simulated use environment. Nine use scenarios were conducted to derive an average task success rate and opinions on user interface were collected through five-point Likert scale satisfaction evaluation and questionnaire. Participants conducted a total of nine use scenario tasks with an average success rate of 93% and five-point Likert scale satisfaction survey showed a high satisfaction result of 4.7 points on average. Users evaluated that the device would be useful for effectively managing multiple patients with ventilators. However, improvements are required for interfaces associated with task that do not exceed the threshold for task success rate. In addition, even medical devices with sufficient safety and efficiency cannot guarantee absolute safety, so it is suggested to continuously evaluate user feedback even after introducing them to the actual site.

This paper proposes a deep learning model to determine the region and depth of cabbage cores for robotic automation of the cabbage core removal process during the kimchi manufacturing process. In addition, rather than predicting the depth of the measured cabbage, a model was presented that simultaneously detects and classifies the area by converting it into a discrete class. For deep learning model learning and verification, RGB images of the harvested cabbage 522 were obtained. The core region and depth labeling and data augmentation techniques from the acquired images was processed. MAP, IoU, acuity, sensitivity, specificity, and F1-score were selected to evaluate the performance of the proposed YOLO-v4 deep learning model-based cabbage core area detection and classification model. As a result, the mAP and IoU values were 0.97 and 0.91, respectively, and the acuity and F1-score values were 96.2% and 95.5% for depth classification, respectively. Through the results of this study, it was confirmed that the depth information of cabbage can be classified, and that it can be used in the development of a robot-automation system for the cabbage core removal process in the future.

Drug shortage is a persistent phenomenon that poses a public health risk worldwide and occurs due to a range of causes. The purpose of this study is to review key policies to prepare for and respond to drug shortages in selected countries, such as the United States, Canada, and some European countries in order to draw implications. This study reviewed the reports and articles derived from search engines and Google Scholar by using keywords such as drug shortage and stock-out. Over the last decade or so, the United States have strengthened requirements on advance notification for disruption and interruption of drug manufacturing, established the Inter-agency Drug Shortages Task Force to promote the communication and coordination of responses, and expedited drug regulatory processes. Similarly, Canada established the Multi-Stakeholder Steering Committee on drug shortages by involving representatives from central and local governments and private sectors. Canada also adopted a tiered approach to the communication of drug shortages based on the assessment of the severity of the shortage problem and released a detailed information guide on communication. In 2019, the joint task force between the European Medicines Agency and the Heads of Medicines Agencies issued guidelines on drug shortage communication in the European Economic Area. The countries reviewed in this paper focus on communication across different stakeholders for the monitoring of and timely response to drug shortages. The efforts to protect public health from the negative impact of the drug shortage crisis would require multi-sectorial and multi-governmental coordination and development of guidelines.
