간호사가 인식한 환자의 건강문해력 : 포커스그룹 인터뷰를 중심으로 (Health Literacy on Patients, Perceived by Nurses in Hospital : Focusing on Focus Group Interview Approach)

  • 본 연구는 현직 간호사가 인식한 환자의 건강문해력을 탐색하기 위한 질적연구이다. 서울과 부산의 종합병원에서 근무 중인 간호사 총 10명을 2개 그룹으로 나누어 포커스그룹 인터뷰를 실시하였고, 인터뷰 내용은 연구참여자 동의 하에 녹음 후 필사하였다. 수집된 자료는 질적내용 분석방법을 이용하여 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 간호사들은 환자의 연령, 학력, 소득수준, 기저질환, 정서상태 등에 따라 환자의 건강문해력에 차이가 있다고 인식하였다. 간호사가 건강문해력의 중요성을 더욱 인식하고 환자의 건강문해력 수준을 면밀히 파악하여 의사소통하도록 돕는 교육이 필요하며, 건강문해력이 취약한 환자를 지원하는 보건의료시스템의 변화가 요구된다.

산부인과 간호사의 결혼이주민 산모 간호경험 (Nursing experience of delivery care for married immigrant women in Korea: An application of focus group interview)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 결혼이주민 산모에 대한 간호경험을, 실제 간호현장에서 이들을 간호하고 있는 산부인과 간호사들로부터의 진술을 통해 기술하고 설명함으로써, 결혼이주민 산모의 간호서비스 향상 방안 마련을 위해 필요한 기초자료를 제공하는 것이다. 초점집단의 면담을 통해 질적 내용분석을 적용하여 연구의 주요 질문을 중심으로 분석한 결과, 산보인과 간호사의 결혼이주민 산모 간호경험은 5개의 주요 면담 질문으로 부터 14개 범주 및 35개 하위범주로 설명할 수 있었다. 결혼이주민 산모 간호의 질적 향상을 위해 산부인과 간호사의 의사소통 능력과 문화적 역량을 증진시킬 수 있는 프로그램의 개발 및 적용 연구를 제언한다.

소아암 생존자가 인지한 어려움에 대한 탐색적 연구 : 포커스그룹 인터뷰를 중심으로 (A study on the childhood cancer survivors' perceived difficulties : Focus group interview)

  • 본 연구는 소아암 생존자가 인지한 어려움을 분석하기 위한 포커스그룹 면담을 적용한 질적내용분석 연구이다. 연구대상자는 S시 S종합병원에서 암 치료 종료 후 추후관리중인 소아암 생존자 22명을 대상으로 수행하였다. 22명의 연구 대상자를 3그룹으로 나누어 각 그룹 당 80-100분의 면담을 진행하였다. 연구결과 소아암 생존자가 인지한 어려움에 대해 '신체적 한계', '끝나지 않은 소아암이라는 그림자', '관계형성의 어려움' '자원 요인으로 인한 어려움'인 4개의 주제와 '체력의 약화', '암치료의 후유증', '재발에 대한 두려움', '부정적인 사회적 인식', '이성친구와 관계형성의 어려움', '동료와 관계 형성의 어려움', '가족들과 관계 형성의 어려움'의 7개의 하부주제가 도출되었다. 본 연구결과가 추후, 소아암 생존자들에게 가장 적합하고 효율적인 건강관리프로그램 개발을 위한 기초 자료로 활용되기를 희망한다.

A Study on Motives of Chinese Female Audiences for Watching Korean Fantasy TV Dramas

  • With love as the theme and mythology, ghosts and magic as elements, Korean fantasy TV dramas have set romantic and beautiful plots and attracted a large number of Chinese female audiences. Based on Melodramatic Imagination and Stuart Hall's theory of "encoding/decoding", this paper investigated Chinese female audiences' motives of watching Korean fantasy TV dramas Hotel Druena through the form of focus group interviews to interpret reasons for the popularity of Korean fantasy TV dramas and Chinese women's overall cognition of Korean TV dramas from the perspective of female audiences. Thinking that South Korea's fantasy dramas are good at women's pursuit and desire for emotional elements, women who watch this type of south Korean TV dramas are temporarily relieving pressure of real life, thus satisfying the needs of female gaze and consumption.

Development and Validation of a Multidimensional Measure of Positive Body Image

  • Current studies validate the Body Positive Scale (BP Scale) as a self-assessment instrument that captures four dimensions of the positive body image construct. We developed and evaluated a 17-item BP Scale using two focus group interviews and four independent samples (n = 1,379) of Korean women who completed online survey questionnaires. We generated an initial pool of items via literature review, content validation with experts, and focus group interviews, subsequently refining the items through exploratory analysis (Study 1). We confirmed the BP Scale's underlying dimensions with young Korean female samples (Study 2, Study 4) and with a community sample (Study 3). We also examined the construct validity, internal consistency, and test-retest reliability over a six-week interval. Overall, the results supported that the four-factor BP Scale demonstrates adequate validity and reliability in measuring positive body image among Korean women. The BP Scale provides a method for researchers and practitioners to understand and assess individuals' positive body image in a multifaceted manner.

  • 기술의 발전과 급속한 세계화가 이루어짐으로 인하여 시장이 확대되면서 디자인이란 영역은 다양한 매체를 통하여 시대의 핵심 역량과 가치를 창출할 수 있는 분야로 화두가 되고 있다. 과거 디자인이 '미적인 아름다움', '장식', '감성의 만족'들을 추구했다면 이제는 시대와 기술의 변화에 따라 또한 다양한 문화를 배경으로 한사용자를 중심으로 분명히 다른 가치가 존재하며 그에 따른 다른 방법들이 필요한 시점이 되었다. 이러한 필요에 따라 최근 상품 개발 과정이나 평가 과정에서 주로 사용되고 있는 포커스 그룹 인터뷰 방법론과 같은 문화적 기반의 명확한 사용자의 니즈(needs) 파악이 가능한 방법에 대하여 구체적으로 연구될 필요가 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 이러한 다양한 문화의 배경 및 개인의 기질에 따라 결과가 달라질 수 있는 포커스 그룹 인터뷰를 중심으로 문화적 특성이 커뮤니케이션 방식에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지에 대한 연관성을 밝히고자 한다. 또한 문화적 특성은 개인 기질에까지도 영향을 미치기 때문에 문화적 특성과 개인의 기질을 근간으로 MBTI에 나타난 결과에 따라 대조군을 설정하고 문화적 특성에 따른 커뮤니케이션 방식의 차이를 검증하기 위한 실제적인 분석 방법론을 수립하였다.

Using Focus Group Interviews to Analyze the Behavior of Users of New Types of Tobacco Products

  • Objectives: To characterize the usage patterns of new types of tobacco products (NTTPs) to develop effective strategies for the regulation of NTTPs in Korea. Methods: We conducted focus group interviews to identify the NTTP usage patterns of research subjects. The NTTPs were limited to electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes), waterpipe tobacco, and rolling tobacco. We categorized 30 research subjects into 4 groups. The ecigarette group was divided into adult and adolescent groups. Each group contained 7-8 subjects. An interview lasting approximately 2 hours was conducted with each group. Results: Ninety percent of NTTP users used an NTTP in combination with conventional cigarettes. Subjects mostly bought NTTPs online, unlike how they bought cigarettes. Additionally, a great deal of information, such as how to use NTTPs and descriptions of NTTP products, was exchanged through online or offline societies. The primary reason why the subjects used NTTPs was that NTTPs offer a greater range of flavors and aromas than cigarettes. Moreover, NTTPs were felt to be less repulsive than cigarettes. NTTPs were not used as a cigarette substitute; rather, they were mostly used in places and situations where traditional cigarette smoking was not allowed. Conclusions: Based on the results of this study, the government should conduct studies on the effects of the combined use of NTTPs and cigarettes on the human body, obtain and provide accurate data regarding NTTP use, and develop and implement polices to ban NTTP advertising, which may arouse adolescents' curiosity, and the addition of flavoring substances to tobacco products.

Qualitative Research on Cultural Center Customers' Shopping Behaviors and Image Building of the Department Store

  • Department store has actively expanded cultural center services by providing a series of educational courses in order to increase customer visits, enhance customer satisfaction, and ultimately increase sales. In this study, cultural center members' shopping behaviors and image building of the department store were explored through focus group interviews. Results generated from a total of 7 focus group interviews with female cultural center members in their 30's through 60's are as follows. First, the consumer group who attends courses for their own purpose is 45 to 55 year-old female customers who are actively involved in consumption at the department store for their own clothing, food and restaurant. They are not often engaged in impulsive either group shopping for clothing. They are satisfied with class quality compared to low tuition whereas dissatisfied with busy schedule of a lecture room and lack of special discount benefits for members. Second, the other consumer group who attends courses for their children is consumers in their 30's. They are charged in shopping for clothing for their husbands, children, and themselves. They are suffering time poverty due to nurturing their children, therefore, they want to shop more in the department store on the day of class. However, expensive kids-care facilities are barriers to do it. Convenience, familiarity and center of culture are important images of the department store, developed through frequent visits of these customers. Eight implications for marketing strategies were generated based on study results.

신설 간호대학 신입생의 멘토링 프로그램 참여경험 (Experience of Mentoring Program in Newly Opened Nursing College Freshman)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to understand freshman's experience during a mentoring program at a newly opened nursing college. Methods: The study was qualitative research using focus groups. Data were collected through in-depth interviews performed from May 2 to May 30, 2011. The focus group interviews were conducted with 15 freshmen on their experiences with their mentors. The data were analyzed by the Colaizzi's method, in which the meaningful statements were extracted. Results: We identified the six categories from sixteen theme-clusters and thirty five themes: 1) meaningful relationship, 2) unexpected help, 3) realization, 4) solidification of one's determination, 5) establishment of a mentor image, and 6) wistful sense. Conclusion: The mentoring program was effective for a nursing college freshman to develop their vision and identity as a professional nursing.

공공과 민간 주거복지 현장전문가 인터뷰를 통한 청주시 주거복지서비스 실태 및 개선요구 분석 (Analysis of Housing Welfare Service Situation and Demands for Improvement in Cheongju through Interviews of Housing Welfare Field Specialists in Public and Private Sectors)

  • This study aimed to explore housing welfare service situation in City of Cheongju, Chungbuk, and assess demands for the service improvement through interviews of public and private field specialists in order to seek practical implications for enhancement of housing welfare policy and system in Cheongju. In December 2016, a series of personal and focus group interviews using semi-structured questionnaires were conducted to total 10 specialists who were currently providing and housing services. Major findings and implications are as follow. (1) City's own housing survey and database construction are in need for development and implementation of housing welfare service programs serving local needs effectively and efficiently. (2) The field specialists perceived importance of realignment of service system and to establishment of the Cheongju housing welfare center as a control tower of the services. (3) It is required to provide various opportunities to strengthen the specialists' competence through education, training and networking and to arrange persons in charge of housing programs in every community-level self-government. (4) The specialists showed their strong interests in introduction of diverse housing welfare services and programs.
