The hydrosilylation is an addition reaction of Si-H bond to unsaturated double bonds, which provides a convenient mechanism to synthesize poly(dimethylsiloxane-co-methylsiloxane)copolymer having siloxy units in polymer backbone. In this study, Poly(dimethylsiloxane-co-methylsiloxane) copolymer was synthesized through the polymerization reaction of cyclopentasiloxane with poly(methyl-hydrogen) siloxane. Silicone-hydrogen functional group of the poly(dimethylsiloxane-co-methylsiloxane) copolymer was substituted to the alkyl groups by hydrosilylation. And their structure was analyzed with FT-IR, H-NMR and GPC instruments, respectively. Surface tension of the synthetic compounds is increased from 22dyne/cm to 25dyne/cm according to increase additional EO moles. The cmc which was evaluated by surface tension was ranged $10^{-5}$ to $10^{-4}mol/L$ and it was decreased according to increase of dimethyl siloxyl content. HLB number of these surfactants was evaluated 9.5 to 11.5 range. These silicone surfactants is applied to self-emulsifier defoamer and personal care products as surface tension depressant, emulsifier, foam control agent.

In Korea, approximately 48% of all households live in apartments, which are a form of multi-unit dwellings, and this figure increases up to 58%, when row houses and multiplex houses are included. As such, majority of the population reside in multi-unit dwellings where they are exposed to the problem of floor impact noise that can cause disputes and conflicts. Accordingly, this study was conducted to manufacture a high-weight, high-stiffness foamed concrete in order to develop a technology to reduce the floor impact noise. For the purpose of deriving the optimum mixing ratio for the foamed concrete that best reduces the floor impact noise, the amounts of the foaming agent, lightweight aggregate and binder were varied accordingly. Also, the target characteristics of the concrete to be developed included density of over $0.7t/m^3$, compressive strength of over $2.0N/mm^2$ and thermal conductivity of under 0.19 W/mK. The results of the experiment showed that the fluidity was very excellent at over 190 mm, regardless of the type and input amount of foaming agent and lightweight aggregate. The density and compressive strength measurements showed that the target density and compressive strength were satisfied in the specimen with 50% foam mixing ratio for foamed concrete and in all of the mixtures for the lightweight aggregate foamed concrete. In addition, the thermal conductivity measurements showed that the target thermal conductivity was satisfied in all of the foamed concrete specimens, except for VS50, in the 25% replacement ratio case for Type A aggregate, and all of the mixtures for Type B aggregate.

The potassium cream soap with fatty acid called cleaning foam has a crystal gel structure, and unlike an emulsion system, it is weak to shear stress and shows characteristics that are easily separated under high temperature storage conditions. The crystal gel structure of cleansing foams is significantly influenced by the nature and proportion of fatty acids, degree of neutralization, and the nature and proportion of polyols. In order to investigate the effect of these parameters on the crystal gel structure, a ternary system consisting of water/KOH/fatty acid was investigated in this study. The investigation of differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) revealed that the eutectic point was found at the ratio of myristic acid (MA) : stearic acid (SA) = 3 : 1 and ternary systems were the most stable at the eutectic point. However, the increase in fatty acid content had little effect on stability. On the basis of viscosity and polarized optical microscopy (POM) measurements, the optimum degree of neutralization was found to be about 75%. The system was stable when the melting point (Tm) of the ternary system was higher than the storage temperature and the crystal phase was transferred to lamellar gel phase, but the increase in fatty acid content had little effect on stability. The addition of polyols to the ternary system played an important role in changing the Tm and causing phase transition. The structure of the cleansing foams were confirmed through cryogenic scanning electron microscope (Cryo-SEM), small and wide angle X-ray scattering (SAXS and WAXS) analysis. Since butylene glycol (BG), propylene glycol (PG), and dipropylene glycol (DPG) lowered the Tm and hindered the lamellar gel formation, they were unsuitable for the formation of stable cleansing foam. In contrast, glycerin, PEG-400, and sorbitol increased the Tm, and facilitated the formation of lamellar gel phase, which led to a stable ternary system. Glycerin was found to be the most optimal agent to prepare a cleansing foam with enhanced stability.
This study investigates the isothermal crystallization behaviors of polypropylene-polyethylene-(1-butene) terpolymer and the adiabatically expanded polyolefin structured foams. For this purpose, butane gas was used as a physical blowing agent. Avrami equation has been used to interpret theoretically the experimental results obtained by either DSC or polarized optical microscope. It is believed that elongation induced crystallization occurring during the adiabatic expansion process has resulted in an increase in crystallization rate, eventually leading to a faster growth rate of spherulites and an increase in the nucleation density. An analysis of the foam by SEM images showed that the structure of foam is uniform (below diameter 30 $\mu$m closed cell) In addition, the thermal conductivity and the compressive strength of the polyolefin structured foams was measured. The thermal conductivity of foamed resin with excellent insulation characteristics is reduced compared with unfoamed resin. The compressive strength is decreased with increase in the expansion ratio.

The part of a building with the biggest energy loss is the exterior and many studies are actively conducted to reduce the energy loss on that part. However, most studies consider the window frames and insulation materials, but many studies do not discuss the concrete that takes more than 70% of the exterior. In order to minimize the energy loss of buildings, it is necessary to enhance the concrete's insulation performance and studies need to be conducted on this. Therefore, this study used a micro foam cell admixture, calcined diatomite powder, and lightweight aggregates as a part of a study to develop a type of concrete with improved insulation performance that has twice higher thermal conductivity compared to concrete. It particularly secured the porosity inside concrete to lower thermal conductivity. As a result of the experiment, the slump and air capacity showed fair results, but all mixtures containing micro foaming agent showed 14.3~35.1% lower mass per unit of volume compared to regular concrete. Compressive strength decreased slightly due to the materials used to improve the insulating performance, but it all satisfied this study's target strength(24MPa). Thermal conductivity was up to twice higher than that of regular concrete.
Sodium borohydride, $NaBH_4$, shows a number of advantages as hydrogen source for UAV PEMFC (Unmaned Aerial Vehicle Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cells). In order to use for UAV, the weight and volume of byproduct should be small after $NaBH_4$ hydrolysis reaction. Therefore, the weight and volume of byproduct were studied after $NaBH_4$ hydrolysis reaction using unsupported catalyst. The effect of catalyst type, concentration of $NaBH_4$, concentration of NaOH and thickness of catalyst pack on the weight and volume of byproduct were studied. Most of byproduct was $NaB(OH)_4$ and superficial volume of byproduct increased due to foam evolved from byproduct. The weight and volume of byproduct were not affected by concentration of NaOH used stabilizer. The weight of byproduct decreased as concentration of $NaBH_4$ solution increased, but maximum volume of byproduct obtained at 23 wt% of $NaBH_4$. Suitable defoaming agent reduced the volume of byproduct.
The reaction behavior of rigid polyurethane foams were studied on the effects of gelling catalysts of amine type, such as; dimethylcyclohexyl amine (DMCHA) and of potassium type, such as; potassium octoate (PO). Rigid polyurethane foams were provided with polymeric 4,4'-diphenylmethane diisocyanate, polyester polyol, silicone surfactant, blowing agent and a few gelling catalysts. As the contents of catalyst, DMCHA increased from 0 to 2.0 g, the reaction time decreased from ca. 330 to ca. 35 sec and due to the exothermic reaction, the maximum temperature increased from ca. 217 to ca. $234^{\circ}C$, respectively. As the contents of PO increased from 0 to 2.5 g, the reaction time decreased from ca. 79 to ca. 38 sec and the maximum temperature increased from ca. 182 to ca. $271^{\circ}C$, respectively. The kinetic parameters were calculated and the conversions were based on the temperature rising method of adiabatic process. As the content of DMCHA increased, the rate constant $k_0$ increased. But in the case of PO catalyst, $k_0$ did hardly depend upon its amount, and showed us similar reaction rate constants.

The lightweight foamed concrete is used to reduce the weight of the backfill material. When it is applied, the volume is often contracted due to segregation, necessitating re-injection. In this study, it was manufactured a new lightweight foamed concrete by adding plasticizer and tested the engineering properties of the material. The tests included unconfined compressive strength test, unit weight test, flow test, pH test, and permeability test. The plasticizer is shown to have an important influence on the flow. It was shown that 2~2.4% of plasticizer was adequate. The new material was shown to have positive influence on the flow and reduction of weight when applied to the backfill of the structures.
This paper presents results of an experimental study conducted to investigate the effect of volume fraction of fibers on the mechanical properties of a fiber-reinforced, lightweight aggregate concrete(FRLAC) that was produced without an autoclave process. The FRLAC enhanced the strength of lightweight, cellular concrete by adding polypropylene fibers and lightweight aggregates. To investigate the effect of volume fraction of fibers on the mechanical behavior of FRLAC and to determine the optimal volume fraction of fibers, a series of compression and flexural strength tests on FRLAC specimens with various fiber volume fractions(0%, 0.10%, 0.25%, 0.50%) were conducted. It was observed from the tests that a 0.25% volume fraction of fibers maximized the increase in the strength of FRLAC and the fibers controlled cracking in FRLAC.
Recently, inorganic-organic hybrid materials have attracted much attention not only for their excellent thermal conductivity but also for their flame retardant properties. In this study, the properties of organic-inorganic hybrid insulating materials using inorganic fillers and polyurethane foam with different foaming conditions have been investigated. The addition of 1.5 wt% water to polyurethane as foaming agent shows the best foaming properties. The pore size was decreased in the foaming body with increasing of the $CaCO_3$ addition. The apparent density and thermal conductivity were increased by increasing the $CaCO_3$ addition. With an increasing amount of $CaCO_3$ powder, the flame retardant property is improved, but the properties of thermal conductivity and apparent density tend to decrease. When the addition of fine particles of $CaCO_3$, the apparent density and thermal conductivity were increased and, also, with the addition of coarse particles over $45{\mu}m$ in size, the apparent density and thermal conductivity were increased as well. In this study, the adding of $CaCO_3$ with average particle size of $27{\mu}m$ led to the lowest thermal conductivity and apparent density. After evaluation with different inorganic fillers, $Mg(OH)_2$ showed the highest thermal conductivity; on the other hand, $CaCO_3$ showed the lowest thermal conductivity.
